I love this item. I returned it though not because of its ability but because it did not fit my doorway. I have seen them at friend’s houses. They work great. Maybe a smaller footprint for my house.

Great for telling when the mail comes with motion sensor and when the trash is picked up. And yes l am always home (maybe). Love how recording is stored on Cloud. Will add cameras later. Ring rocks.

The disadvantage of this door bell is you have to take the whole doorbell off to charge it when it begins to go dead. And don’t be confused into buying a battery for backup like the sales clerk did me at Best Buy and I purchased the Ring door bell 2 that does not fit for the ring doorbell. I was very very inconvenienced. And ended up with a in store credit instead of my money back.

Simple system to set up and configure. Reasonably priced for the tech it offers

We are very pleased with our new Ring Doorbell. The video quality is very good and captures quite a bit of distance. Ours was installed via WiFi as we were not able to hard wire to our existing doorbell (which was inside our screen door in a spot that would not provide clear video). We also installed the Ring Chime Pro as our house is brick. This has helped with improving the WiFi signal. Overall, we are happy with both purchases.

It sounded great so I bought it . I was able to put it on my cell phone but I need to get someone out to install it. I takes a little more skills to put it in than I possess.

Great product. It doesn't work with my doorbell but it rings on my phone and tablet. I've pre-ordered the chime to go with it when it's available.

The bad: 1. The quality of the video, it's definitely not 720P as claimed. 2. The motion sensor. I set the range to only 5 ft. but alerts still got triggered when vehicles passed by more than 15 ft. away. The good: 1. Installation is pretty straight forward, all the tools needed for the installation are included. 2 The phone app works pretty well.

Easy set up and easy to install. Love that I get to see what happens outside my front door when I'm not around.

It is not a high end video doorbell but it does its job. The software could be better as there is a noticeable time lag between alert notifications and videos available to view. It sometimes takes up to 30 seconds to process the video. Easy install (15 mins max), good and clear user/installation manuals. The neighborhood alert feature is nice to have.

This is a great doorbell but only if you wire it directly into the transformer of your existing doorbell. Plus you need a strong wifi signal to get the images and reaction time you need. It works well but can be extremely sensitive to motion. It works best when you sign up for a year of cloud service and that way you can go back and see happened in the past.

A very small part of me wishes that I had gotten the Pro model. I didn’t end up going with it because I didn’t want to hardwire the doorbell. I actually did end up wiring this model into my existing doorbell, and everything works great. The doorbell works great once you get the motion zones dialed in. Lots of cars driving by videos to start with. It’s alot of fun messing with the neighbor kids when they’re in your yard also.

The Ring video doorbell is definitely a great addition for home security. With that said, it definitly needs improvement. My main complaint is with the video lag time. By the time the motion detection kicks in, let’s say for example, a ups delivery. As you respond to your phone notification, you’ll see the delivery guy already leaving. That some critical time lost. Especially for those situations where someone walks up to steal a delivered package sitting on your doorstep. Also the inability to reduce the minimum zone sensitivity to avoid passing traffic from triggering multiple notifications unless you actually turn off the motion settings, which defeats the purpose of motion detection. Maybe the newer models have improved on some of these issues. But this Ring doorbell is still a great addition for the security of your home. When someone approches your door, once you crack open your door to see who’s there, a door can easily be kicked in, then their in your home. The key here is to never open your door in the first place. When you answer your doorbell through your mobile app, whether you’re at home, work, or out of state, they will never know if no one is home.

I purchase this ring door bell for security purpose and it works perfect for me. The motion sensor is thebest part because i can see the package comming even the carrier doesnt push the doorbell.

My wife cannot get up to Open the door. .With this doorbell she can identify the person at the door and activate the remote lock to let service people into the house safely.

I am using other 1st Gen Ring video doorbells, for three years so far. They hold up to the weather (heat/cold/sun/rain). The 1st Gen is not a motion senor, but a heat sensor. It is not triggered by falling leaves or swaying tree branches like the 2nd Gen doorbells. It works as designed and meets my requirements. This unit is battery powered has run for 4 to 5 months between charges.
