We purchased 2 of these items as a last minute buy at the store. Hook up was easy enough. Didn't get any alerts until the person walked up on the long sidewalk, was on our porch and then back out at the street. Adjusted the sensitivity and it still didn't activate until person was leaving porch. Spent a long time trying to hook up one on back porch. Called CS and after much deliberation realized we had a bad unit. Said he'd mail out another one. Never received it and after about a week, called and someone else said they'd get one mailed. Finally got the 2nd unit 3 days prior to the 14 day return policy ended (started installing and this whole mess the day we bought it). That one was not broken, however would not activate when pressed or with any motion. Yet another call to CS and lots of messing with the WIFI, we were finally told to use the units your internet has to be strong enough for 2 units and also any streaming you do in the house (we've got good internet) and also reach a certain distance. I have a 2 1/2 story home and the modem is upstairs. I get connection way up the yard and back at our garage but this wouldn't even begin to work for the back for one. Was even too weak for the front door one to pick up timely (and that one is within the range he told me on the phone). This would have been nice to know prior to going through all the hassle. BB associates had no clue of this either. It's a shame because I had high hopes for this and could have been a great product for us but it's not worth making the huge jump in internet costs we would need (pay too much already for internet) and to also buy an extension for the WIFI range.

The only issue I have is eliminating false announcements that someone is at the door, when there’s actually a car passing by.. i have tried different settings but still get unwanted warnings often.

I was late adopter of the ring doorbell, but now I am fully on board and a huge advocate. Run through a quick set up, and you’ll never have to open the door for a salesman, Scammer, or somebody taking surveys ever again. Need I say more?

easy to set up/ I with there was an easier way to charge it with out removing it from the mount. Using the wires may not be an option with new doors if you don't want to drill holes.

Easy to install. You can monitor 24/7. You can talk to people at front door even you are not at home. I give 4 stars because you will need to subscribe the service to get video replay after 30-day trial.

The next generation of this doorbell is worlds better. The new one has battery life that works for weeks maybe months. If you are going to hard-wire the doorbell, then you'd be ok getting this one.

Video quality is pretty good. You will want to pay for the service which is $100 a year, but you'll be glad you did so you can go back and look at the motion history in case you need to file a police report.
