This is a pretty amazing product. Installation was pretty easy. Works well for the point. Way better than a normal door bell.

Great product - but 2 important things to consider

I purchased the Ring Doorbell to use at the office where I work. The office is inside a building with multiple tenants and we keep our door locked at all times. There are no windows out to the hallway so it's important that we be able to see who is at the door. Also, the receptionist is often away from her desk so being able to use her phone to see who's there and speak with them to let them know she is coming is a great feature. The audio and video quality is decent and works fine for our needs. I would definitely recommend this product. However, as others have mentioned, there are two important things to consider. First, you need to have solid Wi-Fi. If your router/access point is a long way from the door and/or your internet connection speed is not very fast you will likely not be satisfied with the Ring. Here are the office we have gigabit fiber and multiple enterprise access points so it works great for us. And second, the cloud recording feature is an extra cost. We pay $30 per year for the service. It's more that worth the cost in my opinion. Installation was super easy and mobile app walks you through the process. Ring also has a series of great videos on their website.

Overall, we have been very happy with our Ring doorbell. It looks great and fits in with the decor of the exterior of our house. Setup was really easy and we have had no problems with connectivity to it since our router is right on the other side of the wall from the Ring. Setup and installation was easy and quick. The included drill bit didn't work real well for our wall so I had to use a different drill bit that I already had. The video quality is pretty good. Motion detection works as advertised. The only weak spot seems to be the iOS app. It takes a little bit to open up the app, so many times, the person at the door could already be gone by the time the app starts up. I have an iPhone 6, so it could be the speed of my device too, perhaps those of you with newer devices would have less issue with that. I have the Ring app installed on my MacBook Pro and it seems to work much better on there. Overall, you will likely be happy with this as long as you understand it's potential shortcomings when it comes to real time speed in answering someone at the door.

This Ring allows you to have a decent picture quality, easy installation, and a good 2-3 weeks of battery life if you don't connect it to existing doorbell wiring. The charging takes about 5 hours and then lasts another 2-3 weeks. You can adjust the field of motion so that the ring will only alert you when motion occurs within a certain zone or distance from the camera. You can download the Ring app and set the parameters through there and monitor the battery life, videos, live look-ins and so forth. I attached this one to the Ring Chime so I could have an audible alert when someone rang the doorbell without needing to carry my phone with me. When you get a Ring, you subscribe to a monthly service so you can keep your videos and review them. It's dirt cheap. It also allows you to share videos to the "neighborhood" section of the app so if there is crime or something of interest, you can share it with other ring users in your area so everyone can be aware.

I have 2 ring door bells already. With the pricing of these during black friday I can add two more. One to my backyard and one to my garage. I don't expect anyone to push them door bell function but i expect these to use motion sensing to let me know if someone is in a part of my external property they should not be. Occasionally they can be slow to notify my cell with occasional glitches. But they are great value for the price. Easy to setup.

fairly easy to set up. physically it was no problem to wire to the existing doorbell, but i had to install and reinstall the software 3x before the live feed worked properly. i get the sense that it by the time the camera starts recording movement, the subject (or the perp) has already moved away or found a way to avoid the camera. a firmware update might help it kick in sooner? otherwise very satisfied. its $99, what do you want from it?

This is exactly what I've been looking for. My doorbell was disconnected (wires cut during a remodel) and I've been looking for something that was going to be a good replacement. The wireless doorbell are a great choice but this ring is above and beyond. I love the video/ security it provides. My only complaint is there can be a slight lag from the notification alert to the actual video feed. Even with that slight issue, I'm very pleased

I got my ring video doorbell on black Friday at a really good price. When I got home I charged it up and set it up. You have to download the app for your smartphone to do the setup. I mounted it to the front door so I get a clear view of delivery people or friends walking up the sidewalk. If I mounted it where the doorbell is I'd be viewing across the front porch into my bushes. You get to tweak it as to the zones you want covered and the range and sensitivity. I have 2 outdoor cats and don't need them alerting me everytime they walk by the front door. It'll take a few times of setting your range and sensitivity before you dial it in for your personal taste. It got below zero here for a few days and every car that went by would produce an alert. I guess it looks at heat for a trigger so thats why it went off all the time. The recorded video gets stored to the cloud and you get a 30 day trial. Then its $30 per year and that's not really that bad. So far I like it for nearly a month's worth of use. I hope it provides us with years of service.

Did everything it said it would, just need to make sure you have a good wifi connection. I have actually recommended this to a few neighbors and coworkers. I know of 8 people that have bought one since I showed them what it does on my phone. Recently I have been able to identify a person coming to my door while I was gone who tried opening my door, he is all on video. Thank you ring. Waiting for the new stick up cam.

This is a great starter device for anyone interested in security. The set up was easy, the technical assistance was impeccable. Most of the tools were in the package needed for instillation. The three modes you can set your ring for are a great way to maintain security.

So was going on vacation, decided lets try a Ring Doorbell. This is where I will only speak negative about the system. What a pain in the **BLEEP** to get it to connect to my secure WIFI. Now once I did, it works perfectly. The video quality is fantastic for such a tiny system. The rechargeable battery system holds up. Now I have two Ring doorbells too, and they work amazing.

The quality of the video is great, so is the wide angle it captures. I was really impressed with the night vision too! This runs on an internal rechargeable battery or can hook up to existing wiring from your doorbell. I really like the "Nearby Incidents" tab within the app, it allows you to set a range to get notifications of reports from others near you for things like break-ins, lost pets, coyote sightings, etc. I have two complaints, 1) the battery life, I was hoping to have to go months without charging it, but it lasts about 2-4 weeks (the more it's used, the less battery life there is), and 2) the $3.00/mo. + tax charge to access saved videos (or $30/year). I know it's not a lot to pay, but I have another video camera (arlo) and it's free, so I wasn't expecting the charge. Bottom line, I would recommend it to a friend.
