Bought as a package deal. The doorbell, a motion sensing flood and an echo dot. Needed a camera to see who rings the bell from the outside courtyard. Installation was pretty straight forward. Got set up and seemed to work fairly well at first. It said there was good WiFi connection and speed when set up, after a week or so it starts cutting out, won’t connect live view or connect to show me who is at the front gate ringing my bell, but I get 20 notifications a day for cars driving by or the neighbors out walking. I even turned the motion sensitivity way down, it still captures motion across the street. Another week and the device says it is running on battery, even though it’s hard wired. Bell it’s connected to doesn’t ring inside when they chime the bell, and it won’t tell me someone is at the door ringing the bell until 10min after the fact. Do some research and see that the usual low voltage door chime transformers won’t run these very well. I had one that was even 16V 20VA and it still wasn’t pushing enough juice for it to figure out that it’s really plugged in. I change the transformer to one with a little more kick. That solved the problem. Shows that the status is hard wired, decent WiFi connection, I can get live view to open when I want.... until today. Fed Ex guy delivers a package. Ring the bell, my mechanical chime goes off, but no push notification. I open the app, I find the recorded clip in the alerts. Dashboard on the app now looks different, and the next thing you know, the thing won’t connect, says it is disconnected from the WiFi and needs to be reconnected. Go outside, remove device to get to the connect button, and now it doesn’t connect to my network. The list of available networks shows my WiFi name is present. It shows full bars and green status, but it won’t connect. My phone gets full WiFi bars, I can open webpages, I can stream hbo out there on an app, so it doesn’t seem to be a WiFi problem. I don’t have any of these issues with the floodlight. It stays connected, live view cues up easily. I don’t get a million motion notifications. It seems like every time you get this bell running, something else goes wrong w it. It’s great when it actually works, but it is getting to be a royal pain to keep it working.

I already have security cameras set up along and inside my home. Wanted something to be right at the front door and this is perfect. Was really easy to set up used the existing wiring from my old doorbell to set up. And with all the orders of gifts for Christmas it's been so much easier to ignore the sales people that still go door to door. Highly recommend this thing it's awesome

Original Ring video doorbell works great. Picture is clear but the unit itself is a bit bulky.

View is great from youur phone or tablet. Volume and speech is very clear.Easy to install.

I wish I would have purchased this a long time ago. It's great, now I know when the kids get home and at what time. The motion sensor is touchy. It says 30 feet max so I set it for about 20feet, still senses things at least 50 feet. That's okay, it catches who's driving through your neighborhood. It also has a neighborhood alert feature that notifies you if there is activity in your area. Getting one for my other home.

Pros: In spite of a few negative reviews, I loved the concept of the Ring doorbell and its features. Easy installation. Motion detects when someone enters and leaves the house. We can talk to the person from the app. Cons: You cannot see the area unless someone rings the bell or motion is detected. And unfortunately we are experiencing delays (up to approx 30 seconds) from when someone rings the bell or motion is detected and when it will appear on our phones. The chimes appear to be a bit more immediate. Also, we charged the Ring before installation (which was simple) but we noticed this morning that we had stopped receiving notifications and realized the battery needs to be recharged. We just installed the Ring less than 4 weeks ago.

Easy install, very good quality , can operate off of batteries or hardware.

I bought this for 2 reasons. First my wired doorbell didn't work anymore so I bought a cheap one run on batteries at the local hardware store. This one kept needing new batteries and didn't work all the time. When I saw this I thought I would be great to be able to see who is at the door and see if anyone was taking my packages. So far I love it and have used it about a month and haven't had to recharge the battery.

I purchased this doorbell to cover my front porch. However, the device was too wide. I decided to buy the Doorbell Pro for the porch and move this device to the back patio. While there is little need for a doorbell on the back patio, I do like the idea of having an "eye" on the back door at all times. The video is clear and range is about 20 to 30 feet. Great purchase @ $99

Easy to install, has a great picture and motion settings work great. Exactly what we wanted

The installation of our Ring Door bell was uncomplicated and became easier when we realized that you should charge the doorbell for an hour at least before you install it. We had wiring there from our old school door bell, which really helps. The settings include the most sensitive which will buzz you when a car drives by (not useful) all the way to just working when someone rings your bell. The biggest issue is that no matter how great your wifi is it takes 5+ seconds to connect visually to the app, so you may or may not get to speak to someone. We have it set to buzz 3 residents in our home, so sometimes we all log in, other times just 1. I can see someone if they wait 10 seconds or so after ringing the bell. Maybe this is addressed on newer versions? Otherwise we give this a thumbs up. It will probably keep crooks away when they realize they are being watched.

I’m impressed with the Ring. The camera is only 720p, so that is the only downside. The more expensive option is 1080 so you have that option as well. It works with my existing wires & chime. Messages & streaming goes to my (&the wife’s) iPhone in real time. Intercom works right from your phone.Easy to install. There is a low monthly fee if you want backup and storage of videos, or free to use without recording.

This is a handy and useful tool if you get a lot of deliveries to your door or just want to see who’s coming around your house. Set up was easy and straight forward. Do make sure you have an existing doorbell or plan to have one installed. Picture quality is decent and few glitches as far as I can see.

We've loved our Ring doorbell so much, we bought a second one for the other door to our house that gets lots of use. This model does not require wiring, so it was right for us, but it can be wired if you need it to be. The connection is good, which is about 100 feet away from our router. It's such a nice convenience answering the UPS man and seeing who walks by your door in the middle of the night. We love it.

Sometimes it’s very slow to register on my phone. Very easy to install.

Shows who is at the door, but they have to stay there to show up. There is a delay. It has to be within 150ft of the router otherwise you will have to get an extender for your Wi-Fi. The settings have to be changed so that you do not get a whole lot of motion and alerts, like wind moving the trees in front of your house.
