I really didn't want to put this rating here but I have to. The sale at BB was great so I bought it. My daughter already had one and i really like it, though she had already replaced hers because of the camera after 2 days but i saw lots of promise. I received it in 2 days as BB promised. I watched YouTube installation videos as well as Ring videos. Looked easy and in fact it was. Unboxing, removing old doorbell (wired), installing the plate. New doorbell setup went very smooth. Kudos. Problem, no video. So i contacted support which was easy to do. Level one tried several things but still no video. Then they had level 2 call me. Nice. Simple to get in touch with them. The tech stayed with me on it. Total time over 3 hours with both tech levels. Still no video. Could it be my Netgear router? I switched routers just in case but same problem. After 3+ hours the conclusion was i needed a replacement. OK. I got an email later that said it had been ordered. No other information at all. So when will it ship? I don't know. I gave level 2 control of my PC and settings were changed, I noted all the changes as they may affect security so i reset them the next day to where they were. My guess is that I am in for a long haul on this to get things working having read some forum items but we'll see. If i get the replacement and if it works, i'll come back and update this. It is very frustrating to have a $200 doorbell that has a nice chime inside and out.

I am glad I made this purchase I know when there is motion at my front door even when I am not at home I have deliveries and I had friend come to my home when I wasn't home and able to let them know I was on my way so wait for me it's great!

Great product. Would reccomend to everyone especially the elderly. It will serve as a great tool when peop;e ring the door bell. They can view who is at the door before they go to the door.

Great product but sometimes the false positives are annoying but with a little tweaking, you can usually work those out. I do wish there was a setting to adjust the camera exposure.

Like being able to see who is at my front door. The reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is the delay time before my phone notification. Not sure if this is a problem with the Ring or my internet.

Everyone should own this! Initially I purchased the pro then I realized I couldn't install it as I didn't own a previous doorbell... so this one was just it ! He battery has lasted months and I keep having kids ringing that thing daily

Picture is fuzzy at times especially if your door faces the sun. Also, the app could use some work. Sometimes we get a notification and we are unable to check even though we have stable WiFi.

I've had this product installed for 2 days now and I absolutely love it. Regardless of where I am at, I can see and interact with anyone standing at my door. The best part? They have no idea if I am home or not. This allows me to skip solicitors or run to the door if my pizza has arrived. The cloud recording through the motion sensor is great as well. Even if someone doesn't ring your doorbell, you'll get a recording of them that you can view later if you sign up for the cloud recording service. This doorbell can completely replace your existing doorbell setup, allowing you to power it through your home's electricity and have the unit ring your home chime as well as send a notification to your phone. You definitely want to hardwire this item if you have that capability. The only negative regarding the device is the installation. My home is completely brick around the front door. The drill bit that they include is too large for the anchors and screws they provide. If you use it, you'll have bored out giant holes that you can't use for the install. I'm not really sure how this made it out into production. It is a pretty huge mistake in my opinion. Luckily, I was able to find some anchors that are a bit larger than those provided and still worked with the included screws. It was, however, a highly frustrating installation. If you have a wood exterior that you can install this on, it will be a breeze for you. If you have brick, be careful using the provided equipment and you may want to seek out a professional to help get the mounting holes drilled. Aside from that, the product is great. Getting it hooked up to my wifi was extremely easy. Alerts appear instantly and I've not experienced any lag with the product. Motion sensing could be a little faster, but I am still playing with the settings on that and I am sure future software updates can resolve that. I highly recommend this product for anyone that has security concerns where they live and would enjoy having the ability to keep tabs on their front door.

My friend has an Iphone and knows when someone is at her door even if they dont ring the doorbell. It picks up the body heat and send here a msg. I have an Android and although it is said that it works on Android...it does not work the same. I only get an alert when the door bell in pressed and NOT when someone approaches. For instance..a pkg.. was left at the front and they did not push the doorbell. I did not know about it until 2 days later. Thats when I found out that the Android phone does not get an alert via Body Heat....alert is activated only when when the door bell is pushed. Thank you.

The motion detection is very sensitive and it's adjustable. The picture quality is just OK considering it's supposed to be high definition. I do get alerts on my phone even if the app is not running which is nice.

Great but the time delay to your phone could cause you to miss speaking with the delivery person or thief.

The camera and door bell work great but the battery won't stay charged below 10 degrees for more than two days.

It's up and running. Geek squad best buy installed for $99. So far it's perfect, great picture, clear. You can set it for doorbell or motion or both. My condo HOA ok'd the device in fact it was brought up at a condo meeting.

Overall, we like the design and function of the Ring doorbell and app. I wish the video quality was better, but I understand the newer version has a higher-resolution camera.

I really like my Ring Doorbell. I can view all my motion videos. The only thing I don’t like about the Ring Doorbell is the video contrast on sunny days and they don’t have a fix.

Moving to a new city and state and not being familiar with the area this was the perfect purchase for us! We love our RING! It’s great to be able to look at our home anytime we want when we’re not at home.

I have only used this for a few days, but I am very impressed. The camera clarity could be better and I would like to be able to change the light resolution because the sun washes out the picture. It does it's job, though. Very nice product

Best security invention ever. I can control it from anywhere with my cell phone. The barking dog is a great answering sound and it makes people think someone is home.

This is a good door bell. The video quality is decent. I did have an issue where it stopped working, but Ring replaced the door bell with no problems. Since then, I've had no issues.
