The device misses a lot. takes too long to reset

I go outside and return it only records me leaving not coming back. Slow to notify of motion or door bell; people leave before you can answer. Lots of motion notices and nothing is obviously moving. I am very disappointed; this is an expensive item that doesn't work well.
