It is frustrating that the camera isn't continuously recording. The recordings almost always completely miss the motion that triggered the alert. I'm planning on returning mine.

The way the motion detection on the Ring works is by heat detection. Setting your range this low makes your Ring look for a very large heat signature before it will notify you. Setting up the motion detector does require a bit of maneuvering to find the sweet spot, however, we can assist you with honing these settings to make sure you receive the alerts that matter to you.
