I am sorry to hear about this less then excellent Ring experience. Our optional Protect Plans allow you to access/download/share past Ring videos. Without this service, you'll still receive real-time video alerts on your smartphone as well as have access to Live View.

Poorly Designed Product

The one bright spot is there customer service has been friendly and easy to get in touch with. The first Ring i purchased had a battery life of approximately 6 days. Expected battery life is about 6 months, so i clearly had to return this one and get a new one. The new Ring (and the original one as well) picks up on average 20-25 false positives a day. This means that when trucks drive down the street it records, when the sun changes positions and glares on the camera it records. Now this is more of an annoyance than an actual issue BUT, the product DOES NOT RECORD when people actually walk up to the door to delivery packages. I cannot fathom how frustrating it is to get 20+ notifications a a day, none of which are the packages that have actually been delivered. This product is awful and I would specifically advise everyone to avoid buying it.

Straight forward setup and works as described.

Notification on motion and pressing the button works as advertised. Sound quality is poor and laggy. You have to be at the Ring to change the motion detection settings. I was pleased enough that I bought an additional one for a place 4 hours away. Things I would like; the ability to change motion settings remotely, ability to initiate monitoring, ability to view on my computer, a better fisheye lens.

It fulfills my desire to see who"s at my door during late night and early morning hours. I love that I can see and talk to any one at my door whether it be day or night. However, it is important to me to know who is ringing my door bell at 2 a.m. or so. We feel safe knowing that we can see and talk to someone at our door before deciding to unlock the door. The unit gives a bright, clear picture and clear crisp sound. It has more features, which are important to me. Features such as alerts even if someone is lurking around on your property. The icloud storage feature makes it possible to store these images for later review. You can even answer your door if you are not home. This is a burgular deterent.
