    I was in the market for a video doorbell and did quite a bit of research before making a purchase. I wasn't looking for anything extraordinary with tons of bells and whistles, and settled on Ring due to the brand reputation and recommendations. I knew off the bat that I wanted to hard wire the doorbell since I wanted our current chime to ring, and didn't want to have to purchase a separate chime. I was a little concerned about how much knowledge you have to have to actually do it, but was pleasantly surprised after looking up the video instructions Ring provided, that it was extremely easy. The only issue I had was snapping the actual frame on the bell and had to watch a separate video explaining how to do that properly. After installing and testing it out a little I noticed that I was getting a ton of motion alerts since we face the street, so every passing car was setting the Ring off. I had to adjust the sensitivity almost all the way in, and realized that due to the angle of the siding where the bell is installed that I might need a wedge. I was able to adjust it just enough where only very large trucks set it off, and that's pretty infrequent now. If it bothers me enough down the line, I'll go buy the wedge. Outside of that, the video quality is just OK but I expected that due to the resolution of the camera. If you want a clearer picture you're probably going to have to buy the more expensive model, but if it doesn't bother you too much it might not be worth it. The gap in price is pretty large. Night vision is acceptable, and the camera has a nice wide span of view, we see the whole front porch and yard/street. The motion alerts seem to come in pretty quickly, though I noticed 2 issues: A couple of times we walked out of the door or in the door and received no alerts, and occasionally trying to get a live view takes a minute or so to load. I attribute both of these to my Wi-Fi connection as the router is in the lower level of the house...not ideal. I purchased a range extender which, I needed anyways. We'll see if that helps. Other than that, this is a good, base model video doorbell. Super easy to install, works well so far and I'm happy with it.

    Love my ring

    I absolutely love my RING, very easy to install on my front door bell took me about 5 minutes. Synced it to my WIFI and downloaded the app and I'm good to go. The only issue I have is I sometimes have to reset my sensor as the birds and squirrels set my alarm off on occasion.

    We are very happy with Ring. Our home got broken into last week and I've been a little on edge. Ring is easy to install and after tweaking the motion sensor part it now only picks up things when they enter the yard. We do pick up a couple of neighbors who let their dogs into the yard but for 97% of the time it's someone on the porch. I contacted tech support with a question about how to access on my iPhone from a locked screen. I contacted on a Sunday by email and they immediately responded. They have emailed 3 times since to check if I have any questions. When the notification comes up on your lock screen, just unlock, and then press the app icon and it immediately opens up with the camera live. I spent a ridiculous amount of time researching and I could not be happier with the security of the ring. I can also see when my son comes home while I work late. He's 16. Lol. I installed a couple of cheap door alarms and I feel much better. Best $200 I've ever spent!!

      If your power goes off or your Network goes down, depending on how long your Ring has been disconnected from the Network, once the Network and power is back up your Ring should reconnect on its own without you having to manually reset it each time.
