For best streaming performance, we recommend that your Ring device is no further than 30 feet from your router, however, the closer it is the better the performance. Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this last night. Installation & setup took maybe 5 minutes & I was playing with it in 6. Came in handy right away as I was out & someone came to the door. When they rang the bell I answered through my car Bluetooth as I was driving & was able to talk to them like I was in the house & my passengers could also talk & see who was at the door. It gave a few false positives as my door is about 50' from our small street but the sensitivity was easy to adjust in the app. I turned off the zone that directly faces my neighbor's house too. Since the adjustments, no more false positives which in my case is very impressive since my front door faces the setting sun here in FL. Video quality was impressive even on my PC with a 24" monitor & audio quality was top notch as well as long as I didn't talk too loud. Be warned, it is very sensitive and when I was testing it I could hear my wife & son whispering while they were looking at the app & I was outside! Night vision was pretty impressive as well, at least at my location. I'm between 2 street lights so it isn't brightly lit & even without a light on outside the video at twilight looked almost picture beautiful & later at night was still impressive. I also already decided that the $30 annual fee for the cloud service is a bargain and I'll keep it after the 7 day trial. My youngest son gets a kick out of seeing his friends come & go on the replays and I can definitely see how handy this would be to police. I probably would not have made this purchase because of other reviews were it not for Best Buy's generous return policy but I'm sure glad I did. Even my wife, who was dead set against me spending another $200 for a gadget (been on a gadget tear recently!) loves it already.

Best Doorbell Ever!

The recording feature is great in that you can always see who is not only at your door, but monitor any movement around the property due to the sensor motion. I no longer have to look out the window to see who is at the front door, I just look at my phone! Anytime someone approaches the home, I receive the notification on my phone (even if I am out running errands!) and can easily see who is at the front door. If I miss the notification, I can always look at the recorded activity so I never miss who visits! No more wires throughout the exterior and interior of the home. No more bulky equipment to "see" who is outside. And to top it off, the doorbell is so easy to install! You can either hard wire it or use the battery. Love the technology of this piece!

This item delivers in more ways than one, I never have to open the door to a stranger I just talk through the ring doorbell. The wife loves it she feels more secure in her house. Also the company offers cloud recording and its only 30 dollars a year or 3 dollars a month. The camera spans quite far from the door approx 30 feet from the front door. Best feature if the wife is home alone with the kid and I am at work as soon as I get a notification on my phone I open the app and talk to whoever is at the front door. A++++++++++++ continue the great work RING I look forward to your future products.
