Ring doorbell does not ring needed to buy extra equipment for a ring sound in room lame. Would not recommend buying

Horrible product
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Do not make the mistake of purchasing this device. I had the device that worked great for six month. Ring released a firmware update, that automatically update my device. After the device updated, everything stop working. A few things that stopped I could live with, but my indoor doorbell chime stop working. They told me that the device I purchased was broken from the manufacture, and it should have never worked but it did. They didn’t know why, but the firmware updated fixed my device, in order to have an indoor chime is to purchase one of their devices. To me it sounds like they are trying to push their products with these firmware updates. Now I have a useless $200 device that does nothing.

not reliable
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was very excited at first until the setup. the device did not recognize my wifi half the time even though I was getting 50 plus mbs. I finally get the device working after over an hour of trying to connect. It worked fine at first, but the next day my internet provider went down and the RING would not auto reconnect and had to manually reconnect which meant to disconnect and go through the process again for another hour +. when if finally reconnected, I no longer received any notifications. I had to chat with an online specialist who walked me through everything I already had tried. finally after another hour +, I finally got reconnected and I am receiving notifications, however it is intermittent. I am using an iPhone 6s to set up this device and I am reading were this product does have some challenges with apple devices. I am debating on sending this back.

PLEASE READ BEFORE BUYING!!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I WISH I had seen this review before I bought this thing. The screws and hardware are CHEAP!!! The camera and App are nice, but the bottom security screws strip on install and you CAN'T GET THE UNTIL OFF THE WALL EVER AGAIN! Don't believe me? Google it! Support will tell you to: -Use a rubber band over the screw head. -Apply super glue to the screw head and hold the screwdriver in place until it cures, then try to move the screw out. -Use a pair of needlenose pliers to back it out. Then when those don't work, they tell you to smack it with a rubber mallet to try and free it and pry it off. I kid you not. DO NOT BUY THIS THING!! Trust me, it's AWFUL hardware. The idea is great and the unit works, but it's not worth having it stuck on your house. I WISH I HAD SEEN THIS BEFORE I BOUGHT ONE!!

Don't Buy

After multiple calls to the toll free number and many resets I will be returning it. Picks up cars going by, but not anyone approaching the door.

Can't believe people rate this higher than 1 Star.

NOT !!! picks up trucks all day long, drains the battery down and have to recharge it all the time. This product SUCKS and people should avoid spending their hard earned money.

I am sorry to hear about your unfortunate Ring experience. The way the motion detection on the Ring works is by heat detection. Setting your range this low makes your Ring look for a very large heat signature before it will notify you. With that being said, battery life is contingent on usage so the volume of alerts you receive per day will affect it but we can provide optimal settings to conserve your battery. Setting up the motion detector does require a bit of maneuvering to find the sweet spot, however, we can assist you with honing these settings to make sure you receive the alerts that matter to you.

I wish it would just work!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased the ring during the holidays and I was very excited because it was something that I had wanted for a while now, I finally saw the perfect opportunity when it went on sale. I purchased on the 6th of December it is now January 14th just over a month and I can honestly say it’s worked just a handful of times. It doesn’t connect live or when someone walks up. The only thing that has been reliable are the notifications. I have a very good WiFi connection so I don’t know what it can be. I feel bad about this review because I really wanted this device to work and be awsome but unfortunately until they rectify the issues that I am dealing with I have to tell the truth about my experience.

I am so sorry to hear about this poor Ring experience. I see that you noted having a fast internet connection. Do you happen to know what your upload speed is? You can check by visiting www.bandwidthplace.com on your cell phone, and running a speed test right next to where your Ring Doorbell is installed. We also recommend running a speed test right next to your router, and comparing the two speeds. Sometimes, even with high internet speeds, the connection isn't as strong at the front of the house. Item required strong internet connection
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I researched and skeptical before decided to buy this "Ring" product hoping that it would work with minimal problem. However after I installed and even with my high speed internet router that I can reach anywhere in my 5,000SF house with any laptops/phones, I still have problem for the Ring to connect to my iPhone 6. I even installed a Belkin range extender 300 mbps but still didn't work. I called for help and Ring technician told me to move my router closer to the Ring item. It is easier to say than done. This is a waste of my $200 plus $50 for range extender. I will go back research for another system that can hook up to my phone.

VERY EXPENSIVE DOORBELL!!

It does not record anyone walking up to the door but it will record cars driving by. I have sent message after message and all they tell me is that my internet strength is not sufficient when I know itÅis. I had my internet service provider come out and do some re-wiring and upgrade the router. I have more than enough bandwidth they just refuse to admit that their product is TERRIBLE. DO NOT BUY THIS IT DOES NOT WORK!

Three Time Loser.....This Product is Junk.....Read

That is what you will get not the 720p the advertise. Poor customer support and they do not listen to one thing the customer tells them to help them in troubleshooting the poor quality. I purchased this at BestBuy but it is not their fault this product is so terrible. I after returning twice because Ring said I got a bad one twice I can tell you that Rings video is terrible,their support is terrible and that I would never purchase another one.

We have 2 identical Note 4 phones, and it worked ok on my wifes phone, but I never got the notifications to work on mine. And once the free 30 day trail is up though Ring, NO SUPPORT! I have tried to contact them repeatedly, and they just ignore me. This device, while a good idea, HAS NO VALUE BECAUSE IT DOESN'T WORK. I've given Ring plenty of chances to make this right with no joy. In short, this is a $100 paperweight. DON'T BUY THIS!!!!!

Does not work as advertised.

I purchased and installed, I do not have a large house and running 50/50 wifi. This thing will ring 3 or 4 minutes later. By that time whoever was at the door is gone. I called support and after speaking to one of their so called experts, they blamed everything and everyone but their poor faulty doorbell. I'm now stuck with an blue flashing light bell that doesn't do what it was supposed to do. Pass this garbage up.

Dissapointed
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.It should tell you somewhere on the packaging that the doorbell must be within a certain distance from your router. I now have to purchase a wifi extender after already spending 200+ dollars on the product and chime. Even though my phone and laptop can connect to the wifi on the floor that the doorbell is on, the doorbell cannot. I would return the product if I didn't already drill holes in my wall and don't want to go through the hassle of fixing it.

Does Not Work

Horrible

However it has an amazing way of shutting off when I am out of the state, and the only way to get it hooked up is TO BE THERE IN PERSON. Such a joke. Don't waste your money.
