We were looking for wireless cameras/security for our home. Wasn't happy with any reviews, really. Our neighbor recommended the ring doorbell. Read those reviews. Nothing I can write that hasn't already been written. We love it. Took a few days to adjust the motion range and sensitivity. Didn't need a Wifi extender. There is a slight lag time from motion to when you get notification. The voice back and forth sometimes lags as well. But it absolutely is what we needed. No need to go to the door for solicitors. I've heard some don't even bother when they see the ring door bell now. We did NOT hardwire ours, as the hardwired doorbell would have the camera facing a wall. Very happy.

I am very happy with Ring doorbell which was very easy to setup and install. The video quality is good and I like the cloud storage which costs $30/year and stores the videos for 6 months.

This is the best door bell ever. Camera picture is great. Love that you are able to talk to the person at the door. Cloud is a great feature too.

Being someone who had a broken doorbell, and no security cameras, I felt this was the quickest, best option. I like the fact that I can see and speak to whomever is at my door, but wish I could better adjust the motion. It goes off every time someone walks by on the sidewalk, and sometimes it’s slow to capture anyone on camera. If I adjust it closer to the house, only someone right at my door is captured. Can’t get the driveway in without also getting the street, which is a bit annoying. Overall, I’m happy with this product though.

I originally purchased a ring doorbell for my new house. I ended up installing it at my moms house (80 miles away) after she passed away. She has very slow internet ... so the picture is grainy and slow to pull up. But it still has been a life saver. I like it so much ... I purchased a 2nd one for my home. I have “highspeed” internet (25mbps) and a top of the line gaming modem/router. The picture quality is MUCH improved and the camera is faster to load an image. I think a lot of issues with quality is probably related to the internet speed. Love the Ring doorbells ... I’ll be purchasing more cameras in the future!

This is a great front door bell, however, the one feature it's missing is being able to turn on the monitor from your phone and see what's going on at the front door. It only let's you see for a limited time when the motion alert is triggered, otherwise would have given 5 stars

Very happy with this Ring Product. I hard wired it to the old existing doorbell wiring and it works great. You can even turn camera on at anytime. Customer service reps are great as well.

Being priced at $199 you would expect it speed not be a drawback. The positives are a pretty good camera with great coverage and the fact you can add Ring Chimes to any room in the house so you don't miss the doorbell when you don't have your phone around. It's drawback is that it takes a good 5 to 10 seconds to access the camera feature when the door bell goes off even when hard wired to your home. I have tried everything from increasing my Internet speed to using the micro USB power feature in the rear but still Ring takes a good 5 to 10 seconds for it to activate it's camera and intercom.

I have tried on my own and with the Ring support group to get this to operate as advertised. I’ve been on the phone between Ring support, my internet provider, my wi-if router and extender(same manufacturer for both) support, for over 4 hours in the last two weeks(probably actually more than that, but I haven’t kept track)! I’ve been told I have too much electronic interference? I have a smart TV(living room), 3 computers(wired via cat-5 cable to my internet providers modem, and router), one laptop(not hard wired to modem/router), an iPhone, and, an iPad in my home. My home is a quad level. Ground level is kitchen/dining and living room. Upstairs is bedrooms and full bath. One level below ground floor is family room, utility/laundry room and half bath. My internet providers modem and my wireless router are in this utility room area. Lowest level is basement under living/dining/kitchen. Between the modem/router and my front door where this Ring doorbell is trying to be used, are at least 4 inside walls(stud/wallboard walls). I had trouble holding an internet connection on the computer that I use exclusively(no one else in the home uses it), that I ran a cat-5 cable under the floor directly to this computer(which sits right inside the front door within 3 feet of this Ring doorbell). I also wired via cat-5 cable the computer in our dining room. When I and the Ring tech support people went thru the set up process more than once(like a total of 6-8 different times), the doorbell would be just fine sitting close to my modem/router in the utility room downstairs. When the Ring button was pushed, the picture showed on my iPhone. As I moved away from the modem/router the picture got grainy and froze up, off and on, until I got upstairs to the front door area and then locked up completely! I’ve bought a $90 extender since I bought the Ring doorbell to hopefully get a better wi-if signal to the Ring doorbell. The extender sits no more than 4 feet from where the Ring doorbell is outside the front door and 18 inches from my computer. The download speed on my computer inside the front door is over 100mbps! But the download speed on my iPhone sitting in front of this same computer is around 10-30mbps? I have another support phone call scheduled for sunday(next day the tech and I both had time) to try and resolve the fact that the Ring doorbell is not working as advertised! If that doesn’t get it working correctly, I may ask the Best Buy(that’s where I bought it) geek squad to help. I also bought the wi-if extender there!

This doorbell really does let you "always be home". It's so nice to be able to see who is on your property and at your door and talk to them. Plus since it records if there are any problems the images are super clear and it's much more likely you will be able to identify a criminal.

Worked good for the first week then they updated the app and now its delayed with the notifications. When i get the notification of motion the person is always gone because its delayed about 10 to 15 seconds. I honestly wish i could return it but i really dont want to take it off the wall. No live view unless you wire it thru existing doorbell which suucks. Battery life isnt that bad. Another thing is you get a 30 day trial of cloud storage but after that its 3 dollars a month or 30 dollars a year.

Camera works well, but because of our doors location during the day everything more than four feet from the door is over-exposed and there is no exposure adjustment. Because of a street lights' position, night vision won't activate, and visitors are just silhouettes. But at night we can see all the way to the street. Neither of those issues are camera problems. If I went to battery power and moved the camera out of the door alcove the daytime image would be perfect. not much I can do about the streetlight.
