Not reliable security system - Offline Issues
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have tried two of these devices and I am about to give up on them. The first device that I got, had lot of issues with the microphone. I could not hear anything due to the noise coming out from the cellphone. It was like hearing an old radio. Ring.com customer service recommended me to change the device, so I did. The second device I got, keeps being offline (See attached picture). This is suppose to be a $270 security system not a Fisher-Price toy to see who is at the door. The doorbell is placed about 12 feet from my Linksys WRT3200ACM Wireless Router. I am connecting using 2.4GHz band, which is supposed to have a longer range. If I place my phone, with the door closed next to the doorbell, I get 21.9 Mbps download speed and 10.8 upload speeds (see pictures). To me this should be enough to be able to connect to the device. Ring.com customer service told me that the issue is my network and that I could not compare the antenna of a cellphone/laptop that cost $1,000 dollars to the antenna of a doorbell that cost $270. Another recommendation, was to exchange the wifi model for the wired model that cost $499 and that uses PoE. At that price range, I wonder if I should look for a more reliable security system. I will contact Ring.com again. So far I am about to give up and return this device.

Posted .Hello Rafael,
Thank you for leaving a review. Here at Ring, we understand how critical it is for your Ring Chime Pro to work as intended. It's a key component to ensure all connected Ring devices have a strong signal, along with providing an internal audio effect through your home. We are here to lend some assistance.
Based on your review, it seems that you are having trouble with your Ring Chime Pro extending your wifi signal. When this happens, we recommend moving your Chime Pro. The ideal placement for your Chime Pro is about halfway between your wifi router and the device it’s connected to.
Wifi extenders work best with devices that won’t be moved, and ideally, the maximum distance between the router and the device should be under 30 feet. If the distance is greater than 30 feet, you might need a different solution to a weak wifi signal, like a mesh network instead of a wifi extender. A wifi router creates a single access point that broadcasts a signal. The further the signal has to go, the weaker the signal gets.

Ring Doorbell Pro w/Chime
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased for my condo. Crystal clear camera with a wide-angle view. In settings, you can change the sound of the chime; multiple tone options which is awesome. The directions were very easy to follow. It took less than 30 minutes to install system, download the app and complete the set up. Highly recommend this Ring Doorbell Pro with the chime plug-in adapter.

Great picture quality and ease of use.
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We are very happy with this doorbell camera. It’s very easy to install and set up. And the app is very easy to use and figure out. Picture quality of the camera is great as well. We have a large home and have a hard time hearing the doorbell on the other end of the house. The chime pro is great and fixed this problem. I like that you can control the volume on the chime as well.

I got an extremely good price on the unit it was easy to install and get it set up. It has been very useful to me in monitoring people who have come to my front door I have purchased subsequent components to increase the footprint of the ring products that I have in my home. I am very happy with the product and with Best Buy

Reliable just sometimes a tad slow
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We looked at a number of different video doorbells before selecting Ring. So far it works great. Video is clear even at night. It is also very sensitive. It even detects when a squirrel runs across our porch. It was very easy to install and connect to our internet and phones and tablets. We have purchased several ring products and are pleased with the product as well as the customer service

LOVE THIS!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The picture quality is excellent. It is wonderful to see when you have a delivery because you are alerted on your phone. I have no regrets with this purchase. My only complaint is that the drill bit that comes with the doorbell to be used in the installation would not drill through our brick. We fought with it too long before making a trip to the store to purchase a more robust bit. The rest of the installation was super easy!

Reliable, quick response doorbell came/good price
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The ring doorbell pro is very accurate and responda fast when motion is detected. There is rarely a false alarm as it lets you set boundries to detect motion. Even at night the video is good. One bad point, while mostly every video doorbell offers free video review and some up to two weeks to review, but with Ring, after 30 days, unless you sign up for their protection plan, ($30 per device per year or $100 including all devices per year), you may not be able to review your videos.

Doorbell is phenomenal but Chime is unneeded.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this for Christmas going from a non-video doorbell, so I'm not able to compare this to other video doorbells. I've been very impressed with the picture quality of this doorbell. I do get timely motion alerts (when I pull out of my driveway I almost instantly recieve a motion notification) however the app can take a couple seconds on my phone to load which somewhat diminishes the experience (I have a Samsung Galaxy S8). I do find the motion alerts to be a little annoying..... I was able to set my motion zone to just my driveway and moved the slider down to "people only", but I still get the occasional phantom motion alert of shadows or plants moving or..... Well, I really don't know but it's annoying. Doesn't happen super frequently, maybe once every other day but still. I find the Chime Pro to be a rather useless addition. I have pretty good wifi already and since the Ring Pro model syncs to your existing doorbell wiring (therefore ringing the existing doorbell sound when the Ring Pro button is pressed). So I didn't really need the wifi extender, and the Chime doesn't even make noise (there's a setting I could set it to but I don't really need it to) so it's not doing much for me. I think the only use for it would be if I out it in a room that I can hear the normal doorbell, but I still get the notifications to my phone in that instance so..... Yeah, could have done without that. Overall, I highly recommend the ring doorbell pro but I think the chine is unnecessary.

Love it!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Got this while it was on sale! Was a breeze to install and customer support was very helpful. I love being able to see whose at the door and check up on packages and such. Very happy with this set up. The video and audio is clear and notifications come through pretty quickly to your phone. The Chime Pro definitely helped with the range of my WiFi as well. I would recommend both for anyone with a large home.

Great quality Video Doorbell
||Posted . Owned for 8 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Easily installed at front door after replacing the doorbell transformer. Even though this is the narrowest width doorbell that they sell, you may still have to mount it with a custom made shim as directly attaching to standard door trim with adjacent brick facing may create interference or obscure view. Video clarity exceeds my expectation and very pleased with motion detection.

Best Smart Doorbell Experience
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Before I bought this one I had the Nest Doorbell. For some reason, the Nest wasn't working in my home but ever since I switched to the Ring Pro it has been a game-changing experience. Even my wife is loving it. To pair it with the Amazon Echo Show is the best because you can say things like:" Alexa, show me the front door" and it works perfectly every single time.

Works great - however, where is HomeKit?
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased this instead of one from the competition because of the advertising that these support HomeKit - if they do I have yet to find instructions on how to get it setup. Other than that the doorbell works great, motion is detected relatively quickly (not real time but only a few seconds delay), it was very easy to install, came with multiple faceplates which I think is a plus and is very easy to use. If HomeKit worked I would have given this product 5 stars.

Love the Ring Video Doorbell
||Posted . Owned for 11 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought one for myself previously and my daughter and her boyfriend loved it, so I purchased this one for them. Living in an apartment, you really have to worry about Porch Pirates. They don't worry about them anymore since just having the video doorbell mounted dissuades anybody from stealing anything. Also, very easy to install.

Love it!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very easy and fast install, of course my Son did it. The whole family now gets to see all the action at front door, including when my kids leave and what time they get home.. Great to know with a 17 yr old. Our original door bell chimes were hard to hear throughout the house, Now we hear the doorbell very well. So glad I got this for the family Christmas.

quality picture, slow notifications
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Installation is relatively simple. The picture quality is great, day and night. My only two issues are: 1) It is slow to notify my mobile device even though it has the range extender and even has a good signal without it on high speed . By the time you get the notification the person or movement may gone. It is also slow to load the recorded scene as well. 2) The sensitivity settings are not great. on the lowest setting it can still pick up a car driving in the street or lightning flashes

Great addition to security arsenal. Chime a bonus!
||Posted . Owned for 8 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First Ring device and quickly purchased outdoor security cameras including a spotlight cam and 3 stick up cameras to complete the surveillance around the outside of my home. I definitely recommend purchasing the Ring power adapter if hardwiring into your existing doorbell chime proves more trouble than it’s worth. Mine is pretty obsolete, so running the cord through the wall behind the Ring was much easier. Be sure you use Ring brand power adapters. I appreciate not having to rely on battery power for the doorbell. I’ve also had no trouble with the night vision as others mentioned. The Chime that’s included is a great way to connect outside Ring battery cameras that aren’t within range of your router. Just plug it in where they can connect to the Chime and place it in a room where you’ll get alerts when the bell rings unless you have all your other devices connected to announce someone detected or ringing the doorbell. Only Con is I wish there were more chime rings to choose from. It’s July and half of my choices are still Christmas tunes.

Great Security Device
||Posted . Owned for 6 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought the Ring Video doorbell Pro and it works great. You can see who is at your door. Easy to set the motion sensor boundaries on your phone. The only downside is they want you to pay a monthly fee to see recorded video. Otherwise it works in real time with good internet service. I bought the pro version but you don’t need the chime.

Ring Pro, it is good
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Got this so I can see when packages come and also who is at the door without having to get up (door to door window sellers). Easy to install and works very well, without any issues. I like the option of being able to share strangers with the 'neighborhood' feature. Has excellent clear video and really is a modern day intercom system for your front door.
