Killed after firmware update
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I cannot comment on the functionality of this item. Verified correct voltage at the door, installed Pro V2 transformer, and then promptly removed my old door bell. Hooked up new ring, it sprang into setup mode, life was good. Easily connected to wireless network with full signal (multiple APs throughout home). Setup and ready to go and then notification of mandatory firmware update. Update runs about 10 minutes, says complete, but app shows doorbell offline. That's the last I ever saw it. Checked voltage, still fine at 18.5v to the doorbell. Connect both wires, doorbell rings as expected. Try powercycling, holding in ring and setup buttons to no avail. An hour and a half support call later, it's determined to be dead. Somehow completely bricked by firmware update. Support claims they have never heard of this before on the Pro model, but their community forums say otherwise. They are sending a new upgraded version in the mail, but require a CC hold until they get the broken one back. Massively frustrating when I go over and above to make sure everything is done by the book, and their own update breaks their own product.

Posted .Hello Milfriez,
It is important that the features available to you on your Ring Video Doorbell Pro meet your needs and expectations. We do appreciate that you have placed value in owning a Ring product for your home security.
DIY installation of your Ring Doorbell Pro is intended to be a relatively easy process. However, as the Ring Doorbell Pro requires a junction box as well as wiring up live wires, it's recommended you hire a licensed electrician to install the Ring Pro. Your Ring Pro requires a power source that supplies a minimum of 16 volts AC at ~20 volt-amps when connected directly to a transformer, plug-in adapter, or ~30 volt-amps when used with an internal doorbell.
Please reach out to us directly via our community forum at https://community.ring.com/ so we can find a solution to best resolve this and ensure the device is functioning as it was intended.
Thank you,
Antonio from Ring

Caution!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I previously owned the ring at a different home. Upgraded by buying pro and adding to account as a new device not deleting old device from old address. The setup replaced my existing ring model and deleted all my video from other device. Contacted customer service just for them to confirm that video is not recoverable and permanently deleted with new device install. I did not think this was the case because the old video titles were still in the log. Click on log and it says you must upgrade or buy cloud storage. Do not install until you download all your video. Software is poorly done so you can't bulk download your video and option not present when upgrading to keep video or move to new device. Will not support again in future. Not happy about losing some moments captured that were necessary to keep.

Posted .Hi Ki16,
Thank you for sharing your feedback. As long as you were previously signed up for the cloud video recording subscription when you received those videos and you did not delete your old device from your Ring App, then your videos should not delete from your App when adding a new device. Would you kindly reach me today at Kandyce@ring.com so that I can investigate this further? I would appreciate your time and look forward to hearing from you!
Thank you,

Wrong one
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Returned. Got the pro after reading up on the regular model. Thinking it can only be better. Got it home and found out it can't be used with battery, hard wired only!

Install Not As Easy As Advertised
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The installation was not as easy as expected or advertised. Difficult to find the Ring Network. Otherwise it is a nice product.

Works fine
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Works fine. However the connection from the app is a little slow so sometimes the person who rang the doorbell is already gone by the time you connected.

Good for viewing
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Good doorbell but lacks viewing in the nighttime. Need to do a manufacture reprogram I think because I need to see who is at my home not just in the daytime.

Great idea
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The problem I have is when watching back recordings I get a green or gray bar across my recording (not on all but on more then I think is appropriate for this price)

Great idea. Ok product
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It was easy to install but the connection keeps dropping and the actual ringer that people push cracked. Oh well. I guess it does its job half the time.

Front Door Security
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This could be better. Goes offline a lot and doesn't ring door bell a lot. Probably would not recommend this Brand to a friend.

Great Concept but many problems
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Have encountered problems since day one. Didn't get alerts at all, was told I needed to increase my upload speed which I did, now being told I need a wi-fi extender. Lag of time from motion to when I receive alert. Lag of time to when door chime rings indoors. Night video not very clear and false alerts during the night.

I'd like to personally connect with you to follow up on your CS ticket and check out your WiFi connection that may be related to the delay in alerts. Your indoor doorbell will ring after your Ring Pro's doorbell tune ends. Would you kindly reach me at yul@ring.com so that we can ensure your Ring Pro is up and running as it should be? Thanks for your time and I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Technology not ready for market
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm an EE and BME, i.e. not my first rodeo. Ring's first device failed out of the box but not until their tech group insisted this issues were on my end. First it was a new transformer to boost the power. Not the problem, then it was a new wireless router, a new wireless access point and a wireless booster. They gave me the booster, whoopee!. (I already had enough range to link to my house from my neighbor's house 300 ft away before changing out any of it!.) Then it was that I needed to dump my interior electro-mechanical door bell for a digital one. Then they said it must be their Ring-pro and to send it back for a new one. In the end it turned out to be one of the diodes ($0.25) they originally supplied for use with the interior doorbell. Ahh but the end is not the end. The ring-pro worked for a few months and then began to require regular re-boots and then just stopped. No interior doorbell sound, no video no nothing. I'm probably out $400 not counting the $195 for the Ring-pro and my time! This all took the better part of a year.

Expensive doorbell. Get it on sale.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These kind of doorbells are nice if you already have the power wiring installed. Once I have a chance to install this, I will update.

Spose to be a great camera

Frustrating!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I did not return this ONLY because I figured it was better to refer back to a video if anything happened while I was gone vs not having anything at all. It worked great at first but one day it stopped allowing me answer the app when someone rings. I just get the spinning wheel of death! I've reached out to customer service, un-installed unit and app numerous times, even bought a wifi extender to try to remedy this ridiculousness and I give up!
