Only lasted 18 months!
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This was such a poor value to me. I only had for 18 months before it died and had to be replaced. My two-way audio never worked. I also missed having a regular doorbell. I will find something else to replace it. I do love my ring floodlight though.

Good but...

Skip this model and use the original Ring Doorbell
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Had a number of problems with installation and troubleshooting. The problem with the Pro unit is that it requires a faster uplink internet speed (at least 2Mbps) as compared with the original (1Mbps). Also the minimum voltage requirements are 16V ac where the original is 8V ac. I only bought the Pro as it would fit my home siding where the original would not. Skip the Pro and either buy the original (and save $50) or wait until Honeywell or Apple come out with a like product.

Doorbell will not last in sunlight. Poor quality.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Just have to say functionality is very good, a little delayed on the app but works pretty good. The problem that I have is, the quality of the doorbell for me is not as weatherproof as they say it is. If the doorbell sits in the direct sun as mine does, the glass around the camera and button just deteriorated to the point that the camera was unusable. They exchange mine within the first year, they said that should have not happened, within another year, the glass deteriorated once again, I contacted them again and they said that my unit was over the one year warranty, and wanted nothing to do with me anymore, they will not stand behind their products I guess. For anyone else who is interested in an honest review, this is for people who has a doorbell they see’s Constant sunlight, it cannot withstand sun. My neighbor has it and he has no issue, but his camera is under lots of shade and does not see the sunlight mine does.

Posted .Hello JW21,
It is important that the features available to you on your Video Doorbell Pro meet your needs and expectations. We do appreciate that you have placed value in owning a Ring product for your home security.
Your Ring Pro requires a power source that supplies a minimum of 16 volts AC at ~20 volt-amps when connected directly to a transformer, plug-in adapter, or ~30 volt-amps when used with an internal doorbell. To check the voltage of your Ring Pro, open the Ring app, select your Ring Pro, and tap Device Health. For Ring Pro to function correctly, the voltage needs to be at least 3,700mV. If the voltage is below that number, device functionality will be impaired.
Please reach out to us directly via our community forum at https://community.ring.com/ so we can find a solution to best resolve this and ensure the device is functioning as it was intended.
Thank you,
Antonio from Ring

Never worked from day 1!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After buying the Ring Pro, I have a certified electrician install it to make sure it's correctly installed with adequate voltage and wiring is correctly done. After installation, was not able to connect to wifi router located less than 5 feet from front door. The light on the doorbell goes round and round, but no wifi connectivity. So, I hire an additional electrician to come and again check to make sure wiring and transformer, etc are good. 2nd electrician says all electrical components are good and says it must be a faulty doorbell. I call Ring and talk to the CS rep for 1.25 hours to try and get the doorbell connected. After 4-5 attempts to connect (and I was even instructed to turn my master electrical panel off then back on still no connection to wifi.. she then says I need to order a transformer which might help get it working (oh and I would need an electrician to install). I asked what to do if I order a transformer, have an electrician come back out and it still won't connect and she says that then I would need to just try the Ring 2 as it doesn't require as much power...REALLY??? So, long story short, I've spent over $400 for this RING doorbell and still not working!! WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT TO ANYONE!!

Nice thought
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Since I plugged my ring in 20ft away from my WiFi gateway It worked like a charm...for several hours then crashed. I contacted support and was able to get It working again the next day after messing around for hours. Unfortunately, same thing, a couple hours later it disconnected itself from the internet. I had to completely take the doorbell off the power to reset it and get it working. I Already stripped the security screw taking the face plate on and off and sent a request for some extra from customer service. I can not return the product anymore otherwise I would, instead I may be stuck with a expensive paper weight. All other devices connected to my WiFi on different floors are staying connected. I will wait to see what customer service has me do next. Customer service is easy to work with, just hope we can get it working. At the moment I would not recommend this product unless we get it working properly. Had high hopes

Posted .Hello Outsidecamera,
Here at Ring, we know how important it is to have peace of mind when it comes to your security and receiving notifications plays a significant role in having that sense of security. For our consumers, we want to ensure that you are notified of who may be near your door at all times. Please know that it is a priority for us to be of assistance and find a resolution to your notification concern.
We recently released the Rapid Ring App, which was designed to facilitate a speedy response when answering notifications. Rapid Ring is a "light" version of the classic Ring App with most of the features stripped out except for Ring device statuses and the ability to activate a Live View and respond to an event as quickly as possible. By using the Rapid Ring app instead of the original Ring App you'll be able to answer your notifications as quickly as possible.
Think of this app as a companion to the Ring App. You'll continue to use your original Ring App for all the settings functions built into your Ring devices such as checking video history or adjusting motion and video settings.
To download the app, please go to the App Store (for iOS devices) or the Play Store (for Android devices) and search for “Rapid Ring”. Download and install the Rapid Ring app on your mobile device.
Please reach out to us directly via our community forum at https://community.ring.com/ so we can find a solution to best resolve this and ensure the Ring Pro is functioning as it was intended.
Thank you,
Antonio from Ring

Disappointed. Works very inconsistently
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Unfortunately, this product is not ready for sale. I'd been looking for a camera for my door, and I was excited to see that Ring was releasing their new model. I bought it at Best Buy the day after it became available. Installation took about 40 minutes, and it was relatively easy. Setting up the app and syncing the device took another 20 minutes. It does most of what it says, but only a small fraction of the time. When I ring the bell, I get a notification about 15% of the time. When I do get a notification, the video works about 20% of the time. The live view works about 5% of the time. The motion notification doesn't work. The installation materials talk about 24/7 customer support, but actually their hours are 8am-6pm Pacific time. They were friendly. After confirming that my internet speeds are very fast and the wifi signal at the door bell is strong, we redid the setup, but it produced the same result. Then they told me that the live view issue was known and they're working on it with no ETA. Their level 2 support team would call me in a day or two to figure out why I only occasionally get notifications. Sadly, the product just doesn't work most of the time. And now I've got two screw holes on my door frame. I will give the level 2 support team a chance to fix it, but I think I'm almost certainly going to have to return it.

Posted .Hi Ryan, thank you for purchasing a Ring Pro! Ring Pro was placed in retail stores at an earlier date than requested, however, we're in the process of completing a rollout for a firmware update. This firmware update will alleviate many of the issues you're encountering (such as Live View) and you'll enjoy your Ring Pro experience much more once that firmware is loaded to your device. Firmware updates happen over the air, so you won't have to do anything to receive it; your device will search for any new available firmware daily. The updated firmware version is 1.0.29.
Our CS team is available everyday from 8am - 6pm PST but our online help center (https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us) is accessible 24/7. I apologize about your initial experience but would like to get in touch with you to address any other inquiries you may have, and assist you further. Please reach me at yul@ring.com today.
