Posted .Hello Christi,
Our top priority at Ring is to ensure that our customers have the best possible experience with our products. We really appreciate your feedback. Our team is always striving to improve our products and their performance.
When you’re having trouble receiving notifications or seeing a Live View, or a recorded video, this might mean there’s a problem in the data transfer. As a result, communication between your mobile device and your Video Doorbell 3 can be impacted. This could mean your Ring app is unable to show you a Live View or display a video recording from your Ring device. You might see a message that says Activating Device, but the camera eventually times out.
Please check the device health section of your Ring application for the signal strength of your Ring Video Doorbell 3. If your signal is poor or very poor, you may experience delays and poor connectivity. A poor signal can be caused by the distance between the router and your Ring device, the layout of your home, or interference caused by other devices (TV's, game systems, etc.) or materials in your home such as stucco, brick, metal, large mirrors or glass doors.
Please reach out to us directly via our community forum at https://community.ring.com/ so we can find a solution to best resolve this and ensure the device is functioning as it was intended.
Thank you,

Not sure

Posted .Hello ManRoom,
It is important to us here at Ring, that the features available to you on your new Doorbell Pro meet your needs and expectations. We really appreciate that you have placed value in owning one of our Video Doorbell Pro's for your home security.
The voltage reading in Device Health corresponds to the level of charge. Voltage greater than 4.05 V can shorten the life of the device. Even if your power source supplies 16 volts AC or greater, resistance in your wires–often due to excessive length or gauge of the wires–can keep Ring Pro from receiving enough power to function. If your existing doorbell transformer is rated at less than 16 volts AC at 20-30 volt-amps, you'll need to upgrade it to a higher voltage to support Ring Pro. This is a job that may require a licensed electrician.

Love it when it works
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love the ring. However I am on my second piece of hardware. Had to replace within the first year. Ring would not honor their contract without jumping through a lot hoops. It was just easier to repurchase than to keep fighting with ring. Having said that, i love it and dont want to go without it.

Ring Doorbell Pro
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Make sure its compatible with your existing doorbell. And you have the right transformer.

Posted .Hello AcPlug,
That is correct the Ring Video Doorbell Pro requires a compatible doorbell, Ring plug-in adapter or transformer (not included): 16-24 VAC, 40VA max, 50/60Hz No halogen or garden-lighting transformers.
The simplest way to identify which type or doorbell chime you have is to listen to the sound it makes. As its name indicates, a mechanical chime creates its sound by using a physical bell and a mechanical hammer and makes a traditional "ding-dong" sound. An electronic doorbell chime plays pre-recorded digital tones through an electronic speaker and often has a selection of different tones you can choose from.

NOT worth it, get home security
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We installed the Pro because the review were much better than the original. The resolution is horrible, you cannot zoom in or out therefore what you see is what you get. We had to also purchase the swivel plate adapter as it didn't mount to the existing doorbell spot well ($20 more). We used it for a few weeks and returned it as it was more annoying than good. We had people walk up to the doorbell and it didn't even notify us. When cars pulled into the driveway, they were out of the cameras view and unable to tell who was even there till they rang the doorbell. We ended up buying a home security system that cost $250, but has a DVR & 4 wireless cameras that protect the front door, garage, mailbox, & the back door. Much happier after we returned the ding-a-ling doorbell :)

Ring is not what it used to be
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My previous Ring doorbell stored video w/o charge for a brief period of time. It suddenly stopped working after three years so I bought a new unit only to discover Ring now charges for this previously free service. While not technically a bait and switch ... it certainly feels like one. I will look carefully at other options the next time I buy a video doorbell.

Really good w/ a couple of bumps to get going
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had the Ring Pro for two weeks. At present, it is working really well, but there have been a few glitches along the way. I almost gave up on it, but I've been patient and I think (hope) that it's going to be ok now. It's the coolest product ever when it's working correctly, but patience is key until you figure out how it will work best for you. Install was super simple, and we wired it into our original doorbell mechanical ding-dong chime using the power pack that came with the Ring Pro. Darn, the original doorbell then only had the "ding" and not the "dong," which should have been our first clue that the doorbell transformer didn't have enough voltage to make things work smoothly. Within the first 24 hours, the Ring Pro quit working. Tech support confirmed that the power to the Ring Pro was not enough, and they sent me a bypass connector to reconnect the wires in the original doorbell chime box. This bypassed the old ding-dong chime, but they included a Ring Chime to plug into the wall, which is working fine. The Ring Pro is connected to my 5GHz wifi network, but the Chime connects to the 2.4 GHz network, however they still play well with each other. The resolution is very clear, and after a few trials, I have the motion sensor set up so that it doesn't have interference from cars driving by. I was so excited to be at the bookstore yesterday and be able to answer my doorbell when a workman arrived to do some exterior work on my house. He looked like he was on the TV show Candid Camera trying to figure out where the voice was coming from that told him that it was fine to go ahead and complete his work even though I wasn't home! As he walked away, I said "Bye!" and he turned around and said " Bye!" with a puzzled look, and waved towards the front door. Funny. I have had to reset the Ring Pro a couple of times due to Internet instability, and once when my router had a firmware update. Tech support walked me through it the first time, but I've been able to figure it out on my own since then. Sort of a pain to have to take the cover off to do the reset, but it's pretty quick. My internet download speed is about 130 Mbps and upload is about 4 Mbps, and that is fast enough to support this product. My router is about 20 feet from the front door, so the wifi signal is strong. I am hoping that as Ring continues to improve the product and push updates to the Ring, there will be fewer glitches along the way. It's a cool gadget when things are working smoothly, and so far I am glad that I've hung in there throughout the trials and tribulations. The Ring Pro is such a new product, and maybe was released a bit too soon, but I haven't given up because it is awesome when it's in action!
