Dead on Arrival... Twice

When I installed the first one the unit lit up, and a recorded voice started leading me through the set-up process, then it would enter pairing mode... but my phone couldn't connect to it. I contacted Ring tech support and they ended up shipping me a replacement unit. I received the replacement unit last night, re-installed it, and the device was unresponsive right out of the box. This device didn't even play the recorded voice prompts. The Ring's LEDs would light up and then flash in a circular pattern, but even after a few hard resets, the unit remained unresponsive. Ring is sending me a 3rd unit, but I don't have very high hopes for that one either.

Difficulty Setting Up/ Damaged

After spending a couple of hours trying to get the doorbell to power up (oh, and this was with a licensed electrician) we called Ring for support. After 45 mini trying the various workarounds that they suggested, I said that this must be defective and the support person agreed. Now I’m waiting for a replacement because they refuse to send before they received the damaged on. We understand that things happen but, you further inconvenience us by making us wait before you send a new one? Not happy at all.

Nice when it works

But in the meantime, it needs to actually function. I've installed the Pro Power Kit as instructed, but the doorbell only works for about a day at a time. I have to constantly reset it to get it to function again. Needs some work as there is no reliability.

Good idea but does not work in all homes

Their customer service responded to my calls, even sent a replacement unit, but still would not work for more than 24 hours after being installed.

Difficult to connect to internet

TERRIBLY POLICY

Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great product, with that being said i found a much better deal from ring itself, but after my best buy product was installed i called costumer service to get it priced matched and save them money not having to go to the store and return it, but was denied the price difference, so i took it back to the store after 17 days and was ONLY given a store credit for the amount, after being a best buy costumer for over 10 years and having spent over 8k on my account i found this very upsetting, and im very disappointed with their costumer service!

Worked for two days then failed

Yet to work more than12 hoursf

Purchased elite doorbell. Getting close to terminating relationship. Telephone customer service a disaster! Well meaning employees but Cross trained coordinating a mess ! A real mess you get dropped or picked by another while being on hold while the on always who fix the bprevious kid working for you to pick the phone and find it empty! Southwest Airlines talks to you fixes the problem and when call center is overwhelmed it's with to another region. No dropped calls no double triple empljoyeee working on the problem. I needs use the phone anymore I go directly to the store!!!!!!!

Only good for reviewing video

Doesn’t work and Ring knows it

I have had numerous contacts with support and the end result was, “sorry”. So here is my experience. When the doorbell is pressed an alert is immediately sent, but I cannot answer it at all. Internet speeds are fine and Ring Support even validated this. I even purchased the ring chime pro, but that didn’t help either. I placed a WiFi camera with motion detection next to it and it works great. I really wanted to like the product, but this comes up short. Customer support is terrible, but that has been my experience with most of these tech companies.
