    It stopped working

    I installed the Ring doorbell easily from watching the installation video on YouTube. Everything went fine for 2 hours, then it couldn’t not connect to WiFi. I did everything from disconnecting Ring from power, rebooting my router, rebooting my cellphone which I was using for installation, installing a WiFi extender, and a hour long chat with the online Ring customer support. They offered to send a replacement, but it would take up to 5 days. I decided to return the Ring Pro back to Best Buy. I’ll stick with my Arlo cameras and will be looking into the Nest Doorbell next.

    Device kept displaying not enough voltage. Geek squad determined it was defective. Exchanged for Ring doorbell with battery, which is working fine now.

    They can't seem to keep this thing working. Every couple weeks there is some sort of firmware update that breaks it. They broke it ahead of Halloween and took 15 days to resolve the issue instead of just rolling back the firmware.

    Poor Wi-Fi connection

    About to return ring pro doorbell to buy another nest cam. Ring Pro doorbell loses the Wi-Fi as soon as i walk out the front door to install the doorbell. Worthless to work inside the foyer only! My nest cam meanwhile works flawlessly on the far end of the detached garage. Only reason we tried the ring doorbell is because we already pay for ring service for the security system and ring doesn’t charge for additional devices, while nest charges extra for each device and we already pay for 3 cameras. But apparently you do get what you pay for...

    This was too big for my door. This doesn’t have battery on it like non- pro model. So for me, I had to put it on same place where old one was before. Couldn’t install it beacuse of it’s width. Ended up returning it.

    Ring Pro totally worthless for security.

    Ring Pro would switch to night mode (B&W image) at dusk but would not switch back to color image in daylight without manually resetting. B&W image inadequate for recognizing faces. Returned for replacement which had the same problem. The Ring app indicated that the transformer voltage and Wi-Fi signals for both installations were good. Ring tech support was unable to remedy. Asked me to wait until their engineers solved the problem. Both units ran extremely hot but were sited in shade (northern exposure). Wasted over a month with this thing. Finally returned for refund. Only good thing was Best Buy's return policy.

    Not Ready for Prime Time

    Installation was simple, but needed to upgrade doorbell transformer to a higher voltage unit. Connection to the unit via the app seems to take forever, resolution of video is average for stationary objects. When a person is moving fast toward or away from your door the update rate yields a video that makes it difficult to recognize who the person was. It false detects motion at the front door on windy days, due to plants/leaves moving, even with setting on least sensitive. It seems ridiculous to charge $3 per month so you can watch the video that happened minutes earlier.

    This doorbell was not as easy to set up as it was listed. Got it done then had issues with the video. Pretty expensive. Not sure the video is good enough to use in case I have an issue with someone at the door.

    too long of a delay

    router is 10ft from front door and there is still a delay from motion sensing to being able to see who is there. By the time it notifys of motion and video opens up, the UPS/Fed-Ex/Mailman is gone!

    My Ring Pro doorbell would not stay connected to Wifi, which forced me to reset it. Well after doing this, it would not enter setup mode. Since I bought the geek squad protection, bc I was told of the ease of replacing it if this happens, I took it back to Best Buy. Then they asked if I wanted to purchase the protection again. Which made no sense bc it was within 30 days of buying it bf breaking and the point of the geek squad was so I didn’t have to deal with the manufacturer. Geek squad support sucked and so did the return process.

    Pain to install. Doesn't fit where the current doorbell is( a home built in the last 16 yrs). You need to do major carpentry work for it to fit into a STANDARD home doorbell space. AND, you have to buy the camera.

    Bought this product for my dad and it did not pair with WiFi. Contacted ring and they sent out a WiFi range extender and a by pass and product still did not work. Had to return product.

    The Geek representative was very curtious, patient and competent, but was unable to get the product running without problems. Working on overcoming obstacles to try purchase and installation again

    Sales rep recommended the Pro, after trying to install had Geek Squad out ( at $100.00) to tell us we needed a different model. Wasted $100.00 after Geek was here. Installed the other model myself

    Do Not Purchase

    Works sporadically. Issues with Live View and Motion Settings and Alerts. I have a brand new state of the art $400 Router with FiOS 150 download and to prove my theory I configured Ring to work first on 5ghz and then 2.4ghz as the ONLY device on the Network. Ring and router are only 30 feet away. Ring is buggy returning for another product. When you need to reset Ring you have to take the security screw out and pull the cover off to push in the reset button on the side.

    People can rarely hear you clearly through this. The manufacturer keeps blaming this on my wifi connection. Bologna! I have a seriously high speed connection. Overpriced piece of junk!

For best streaming performance, we recommend that your Ring device is no further than 30 feet from your router, however, the closer it is the better the performance.     It takes several minutes to open and view etc.. The motion sensor goes off as the wind blows. You can set it or turn it off. I do like the neighborhood advisory board.

    It worked good except I have a windows computer and windows phone so unless you buy the cloud storage you can't see the video unless your sitting there watching your computer. Useless for me.
