Bad product

All the connections were done correctly and power supply to the device was good, from the last device health check I performed. I don’t understand why a $250 device stops working barely 18 months after purchase. I truly feel scammed!

Worst Product

After I installed it I got an email from Ring saying the firmware isn't correct and would be sending out a new firmware over the air so it will download when it is available. I am not going to keep waiting for a firmware to download so I can use a $250 doorbell, I have tried contacting the company and they are not easy to get a hold of and when you do talk with someone they have no idea what is going on. Do not waste your time or money.

Ring isn't for me

Still Doesn't Work

Company sending replacement product

Won't connect to internet

Here at Ring, we see your concerns and are here to lend some assistance.
Based on your review, it seems that you are having trouble connecting your Ring Video Doorbell Pro to your home wifi network. When this occurs, we recommend rebooting your wifi modem and router. Since your router and modem are usually the hardest working devices in your house, for optimal performance, you should reboot them about once a month. To reboot routers or modems, follow the instructions below:
Unplug your router or modem from its power supply (don’t just turn it off).
If your router and modem are separate, unplug both of them.
Wait at least 30 seconds, then plug them back in.
Wait for your internet to be restored.

Don't do it

Chime rang sometimes. A delivery man pushed the door bell a few times & left. I was 20' from the door in my living room. I saw the Ring video after the guy left. Called Ring help line, they said try buying a bigger transformer for the ringer, that "might" help. Later taking with the same person she said try buying a Ring Doorbell chime... that "might" help.

After app updates not so great

But I find with every update the quality on the video gets worse. Also being able to talk to the person at the door is now almost impossible. By the time the system loads up the person is usually gone. If it does connect, the quality is very poor and it can be hard to communicate. I may try switching to the nest.

The Ring Video Doorbell Pro should allow you to experience 1080 HD video with clear audio. What you describe is not the experience we want you to have, rest assured, we are here to offer our help.
For optimal Ring app performance, we recommend that you keep your Ring app up-to-date. This helps ensure that the latest issues have been ironed out with the latest release. If you haven't already, please try our Rapid Ring app. This secondary app is lightweight, and intended to connect you to your video events much quicker than before. You may find that Rapid Ring provides a better experience in your specific case.
To keep things working top-notch, please reboot your router every month or so. This helps your router keep your wifi devices, such as Ring Video Doorbell Pro, working at their best. You should notice an improvement in two-way audio and video soon after a reboot.

Subscription Required to Record

Following are the issues I had. 1. There was a long latency between ringing doorbell mobile notification. 2. Video quality is not the best. 3. Does not support 5GHz Wifi 4. If you want to retain your recordings you must pay a monthly/yearly subscription fee. There are other more reasonably priced products that provide similar features without having to pay for subscriptions for recording and also allow local recording.

can not switch back to color mode in morning

Had been working with Ring support for couple of weeks and finally they told me it will need a firmware upgrade. For now, I have to reset up it every day. Reading from the web, seems this issue had been first reported back in Feb from a firmware upgrade and it is sad that it will take ring couple of months to work on a fix.Not recommend it until this basic issue got resolved.

TERRIBLE customer service @ RING

I ended up returning product. They blamed it on Best Buy bc the one I bought was supposed to be pulled off of the shelves due to a recall but wasn’t. They wouldn’t work with me to fix it. Best Buy only offers a 15 day window to try the product before losing the ability to return for a full cash back refund. Not enough typing space to lay out the whole story. Was a terrible experience.

I am returning it

Ring told me that I needed a separate power thingy that would bypass my current chime. I do not wish to bypass my current chime. I hate this device Ring and Best Buy. A fellow on the phone at Best Buy said he would send me a return label via email but he never did! This is a very expensive doorbell that I cannot use. Take this thing back and I'll be somewhat satisfied.

Stopped working after 5 weeks

I paid for an electrician to install, and will have to pay a 2nd time for the replacement to be installed. The Ring worked great for about 35 days and then it just stopped. Hours on the phone with customer service determined the device was defective. Very disappointing - I might have a more positive review if the new device works longer than this one.

Live view not working

I was hoping to answer my door bell via Live View. It is hard to do when this feature is not working as advertised. I have a 275 Mbps download & 11 Mbps uplink connection, The device shows that it has a good signal strength, -45 dB. I did Speedtest with my cell phone placed next to the ring pro and got decent upload/download. Tech support is no help.

Lost color

Tried to return to Best Buy but they wont take it back due to 15 day return policy starts the day you order it online, so the shipping days are included for the total 15 days. This is my last Best Buy purchase if this is what they call member service. I believe i just got a bad one, i realize that happens. But the return policy is very poor in my opinion.

Need to upgrade
