Very difficult to install

Did not function in live mode

Finally they offered to deinstall, which will happen next week

Good concept, poor execution & support

Some struggles, but worth it...
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.After researching the products on the market, I decided to go with the Ring Pro, mainly because of its slim design and the amazing customization of the motion zones, more about that later. Overall, the product is nicely built, lots of little details, such as multiple face plates, all the extra tid-bits that you may loose over time and so forth. It comes well packaged, very organized with excellent instructions and videos. On this aspect, I would give highest marks. The actual physical installation is very easy, the drill bit is included and most everything else that is needed. Upon initial connection, I was pleased it powered up after a few minutes, which is normal and when progressing through the app, etc., I was hopeful because things were going well. Then everything I had read in the lower star reviews began to take place. It took several attempts to connect to the WiFi network, had to open the front door to gain a stronger signal. After passing that hurdle, the app indicated it was connected to the device, but the camera would not work. After accessing the health report, I learned the power to the device was poor, in addition to a weak WiFi signal. This practically make it unusable at this point. These are some of the more common issues. I had done my research and was determined to correct the situation. I have the correct type of manual hardwired doorbell, it operates on 16V, which is the minimum required. However, most users have reported that 24V is needed. I would say that 24V is a must, period. My home only being a few years since being built, made is easy to rectify this issue. I found a multiple voltage doorbell transformer at a local home center for $15 that depends on how you connect the wires, it will provide either 8, 16 or 24 volts. Why cannot they just build homes with this version instead. It was a simple update since it was located in garage and was easy to access. After installing and connecting for the 24 volts, the health report immediately switched from poor to very good for power, hurdle one has been resolved. Please be aware, that Ring somewhat addresses this issue by providing a free power cable to use during the installing of the power pack, however you must call and ask for one and what I could tell from other reviews, it seems not to do too much to increase the power needed. Lastly, I needed to address the WiFi signal. I knew most likely an extender would be required to acquire the best signal at that specific location. I am not aware of too many people having their router by the front door. I installed an extender at the nearest wall plug near the device and the health report has gone from poor signal to good. After working to address these requirements, the device works quite well. The video is clear with minimal pixelation, freezing, choppiness, etc., this was all horrific before correcting the power and W-Fi issues. The sound is loud, crisp and clear. The app launches the live within 1 to 2 seconds and I have only had just an instance or 2 whereabouts I had to quit the app and launch again to connect. The internal doorbell rings almost instantaneously when the button is pressed, no lag. The notifications on the mobile and watch come through within 1 to 2 seconds as well, very impressed! After setting the customizable motion zones, middle sensitivity seems to work to best, I am very pleased. Overall, after addressing some installation pain points, I am enjoying this product and would recommend. However, if you are not able to boost power to the 24 volts range and send a strong WiFi, you most likely will be frustrated with the situation. Those concerns are not that difficult nor expensive to address to enjoy this innovative product.

Didn't connect

Going on my third unit in 6 months.

DIY installation of your Ring Doorbell Pro is intended to be a relatively easy process. However, as the Ring Doorbell Pro requires a junction box as well as wiring up live wires, it's recommended you hire a licensed electrician to install the Ring Pro. Your Ring Pro requires a power source that supplies a minimum of 16 volts AC at ~20 volt-amps when connected directly to a transformer, plug-in adapter, or ~30 volt-amps when used with an internal doorbell.

Good but not perfect.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had issues setting it up with a nexus 6p and nexus 5x but as soon as I tried it on my iPad it worked. Camera- the camera picture is good however you are unable to adjust the lense. In my case I wish I could see a little bit more or move it to look in a specific direction. Not a product flaw at all. Just the nature of the device. Night vision works great. Motion sensor - I really like this. You can create zones and adjust the sensitivity. Works great. Voice and Audio- work as expected. App- the app is pretty responsive. I don't seem to have the same issues as others who report that the person is already gone by the time the video on the app loads. I will not my router just happens to be very close to my ring. Over all 4 out of 5. It's not perfect but after doing research between this and the August doorbell this appears to be the better product.

Terrible doorbell

Was not able to make work

Not Great

Not worth the money
