Quite disappointed
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I admit, I 'want' to like this product (Ring Doorbell Pro) but I cannot get it to work as intended and advertised. 24/7 Customer Support has been unable to help, suggesting I 'exchange' my device and indicating there was little else that could be done. I have also tried reaching out via email to one of the Ring Customer Satisfaction Specialists who frequently reply to these reviews prior to submitting my own. I have received no response. I purchased my first Doorbell Pro five days ago. It installed relatively easily and monitoring seemed to work. My major issue initially was that when I attempted to communicate with people outside the door, they heard nothing but static, and maybe an occasional garbled portion of a word, thus knowing I was at least trying to talk to them. I called Support after 2 days of trying various site-suggested fixes and it was recommended that I exchange my device. Sadly it is an hour drive, each way, to my closest store, but we made the trip. Best Buy exchanged it for a second unit, but I cannot be certain it was 'new' as when I got home (again, hour drive) I found the box had been opened and re-taped. I did look it over after this discovery and is appeared unused, so I reinstalled that evening. Much to my disappointment, this resulted in virtually the same issue with the sound. Initially visitors could make out 2-3 garbled words, but that quickly deteriorated to none at all - just static - but hey, they static was quieter! Early the next morning, Motion Detection identified a car driving past my home that was not in my specified motion zones. When I attempted to view, the App showed my Doorbell was offline. I got out of bed and walked out to look at the device and it alarmed again. It was seeing motion and people, alerting, but showing offline within the App so I could not view anything. It even recorded my vehicle leaving later that morning - still showing offline! Three hours later, it miraculously showed online and I could access past history and Live View. My setup is as follows: Ring Doorbell Pro Wifi Strength showed RSSI in the .54 -.57 range on the first unit, the second unit fluctuates between .59 - .61 with Ring Chime Pro (placed inside home 3 feet from the Doorbell). My power connection health report for both shows 4055mV in the morning and dropping to 4009mV by late afternoon My Chime Pro WiFi connection shows RSSI-29 signal strength currently, and shows the Doorbell connection to the Chime Pro at RSSI - .62 I have done multiple hard resets, as advised by Support. Again, I wish I could like this but am very dissatisfied and because of the cost, do not feel I have any other choice but to return for refund. It is too bad as the video portion works well for the most part. Motion sensitivity is quite sensitive even at the lowest setting, occasional moth and car lights will alert. I purchased the Chime Pro 2 as recommended by the site due to the low-ish signal strength, but it only got worse. If things change prior to my return I will amend this review (if Best Buy allows). I am giving 2 stars because what does work, seems pretty good. What doesn't work is the showstopper for me as I want to get what I paid for.

Great customer Service
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I originally purchased the original Ring doorbell. After about a year I had an issue with connection. I contacted Ring and had a replacement Immediately. They asked if I wanted to upgrade and I did. Glad I did - the 1080 viewing is awesome. If you are thinking of purchasing- go with the Pro. The viewing is so much better st 1080. Highly recommend this product and this company. No complaints

Read before you buy - UNSUCCESSFUL INSTALLATION
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. In my experience, I may have gotten a defunct copy cause it never worked despite all of the troubleshooting effort by Ring CS. First, the installation difficulty level is advanced for this device. You'll need to possibly wire 3 things in your home: The doorbell chime to install the booster; the doorbell unit itself; and possibly the transformer if you're like me and have a 16v 10VA transformer. The hard part is that I've never heard of a doorbell transformer and had to find it in our 4 level 3800sf home. This is not a plug and play and you're better off getting it professionally installed. At this price range, it's not worth it. Even with the new transformer and waiting 30-60 minutes for it to "charge", it never lit up. 6 hours and 14 dollars later, it still doesn't work. Now I have to repack everything to return to BB. I wonder how many returns for this unit they get on a weekly basis. Funny the customer support rep (supervisor) kept recommending that I get Ring 2 instead.

Elegant security solution
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The installation was very straight forward and easy, 25 minutes from start to finish. I was unable to connect it to my 5ghz Wi-Fi, but 2.4ghz is solid anyway. The app also works great with no noticeable lag. This is now a mature technology and a great addition to your home security system.

good camera
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So I was looking for a camera that is compatible with the goolgle Hub and I found that this product was! Also I do not have a wired doorbell so this was definitely a plus to owning the ring doorbell. The quality is better than the regular version. I like how you can have different tones when used with the Chime.

I like it....finally.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased two Ring Video Doorbell Pro's and a stick up camera for my office building. After completing the physical installation I started on the process of connecting the equipment to my wifi and phone. That was a chore. Over a period of several hours, multiple attempts and several days, with the help of tech support I was able to get everything on line and working. Others may have a different experience but I found the setup a bit frustrating. During the process I learned that my internet speed was marginal. If others in the office were on the internet with a lot of activity I couldn't complete the setup. But once the setup was completed this hasn't been a problem. Another issue was the distance of the equipment from my router. There wasn't anywhere in the building that I could put the router that was close enough to satisfy all three devices. The folks as Ring sent me a Ring Chime Pro that boosted the wifi signal so that I could get everything running. I have had all systems operational for about two weeks and I love it. This isn't as easy as plugging in a toaster, but I think it was worth the fuss. I would like to have one of these systems at my house, but the internet is so slow in my neighborhood that I won't even attempt it.

Easy to install! Works as expected!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased a Ring Standard version a month ago and was so impressed I then purchased the Ring Pro. The camera quality is noticeably better, going from 720P to the 1080 (Pro Model). The App on the iPhone is easy and simple to use. The Pro version is nice because it is slimmer and has the live view at anytime feature.

Great for viewing at your front door.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great device to monitor what's happening outside your front door without having to open the door (or even be home). Easy installation and set-up. Great support team that keeps open lines of communication and follows up. They are still developing firmware upgrades and working on some night vision issues, but overall great product and support.

Great product!!! Recommend to all my friends
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have several of the Ring products and I love them all!!! The motion detection takes a bit of adjustments to work just right (as can be expected) but after a good explanation from their support of how it really works, I completely understand it and love it! Have recommended it to everyone I know! Video quality is great!

Great when it works, requires troubleshooting
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My initial rating would have been two or three stars. It was such a pain to get working consistently. After finally putting the camera in my wireless router's DMZ, it works MOST times. When it does, it's awesome. When I get a recording of just audio without video, I want to drop-kick it off the wall. I'm now at firmware version .62 and it's the best it has ever been. Oh, and customer support is absolutely useless. I don't think they know what's wrong with this thing and how to resolve people's issues. Let's hope they iron out the remaining kinks in short time. I don't understand how my Nest thermostat can initiate as well as accept incoming connections yet this doorbell can't do the same without placing it outside the firewall. I also don't understand how the Ring folks haven't come up with a must-read How To on wireless router configuration for their finicky product.

Works well but do your homework first
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Ring Pro is currently working as advertised. It took a while. A long while. And really nothing to do with the product itself - just everything involved with its environment. First, my doorbell transformer was rated at 10VAC. It has to be 16-24VAC. I assumed all were, but mine is 22 years old and builder-installed. The result is that the voltage at the ring unit was below acceptable. Second, make sure you have at least 3 bars of Wi-Fi signal at the location you're installing the Ring. I ignored everything and installed it. It worked fine until evening then no video. A health-check showed 'very poor' voltage. And I had 1 or no bars of Wi-Fi, even though earlier in the day it was better. So... the next day I bought a new transformer rated at 16VAC. Voltage was acceptable but the Ring could see the network still. Back to Best Buy for a Wi-Fi extender. After fighting with that for an hour, I was extended and connected. So far so good. Bottom line? Good product but check the signal and the transformer voltage before starting.

A must need camera for everyone!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall this doorbell camera works with no issues. Be forwarned
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Ring Doorbell Pro does exactly what it is supposed to do. However you should understand that it requires a 30 amp transformer. The standard house doorbell transformer is 10 amp. I spent an hour and 1/2 on the phone with customer service before they told me that my doorbell was underpowered. The cost to install a new Transformer is $150 including the cost of the Transformer. You can save some money by doing it yourself but usually they are attached to the main house breaker. It also turned out that my regular doorbell wouldn't work with the pro even though it was listed as one that was compatible. That required an additional ring chime and a bypass device. That took another hour with customer service so Ring was good enough to send me those for free.

Ok when works
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Installing this product was a breeze and live view rendered a very good image. However, after having the doorbell installed for several weeks now, I have noticed some not so stellar performance issues. 1) The actual doorbell ring works occasionally and if it works at all, it is delayed drastically. 2) The audio out is so choppy it's pretty much useless. 3) The recorded video can be very choppy and many times freezes. All this with consistently good power and WiFi signal. But the one that makes the product currently useless is the fact that it does not record any video once the sun goes down. I can consistently receive notifications throughout the day but as soon as the sun drops so do the notifications. I called tech support and was told this is a known issue and they are working on a fix. I would think this would be a top priority since coverage at night is critical and without, this is nothing more than a cool toy.

Seems to have problems
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was given a ring pro as a gift @ 6 months ago. They also provided with the gift the services of an installer who when they arrived (2) went to work and installed it and ensured that it was working to specifications. Well, here's my analysis. The Ring Pro (maybe not so pro after I've finished writing this) well, on with this review, it worked fine for the first 28 days, and walla, the trial period hadn't even ended and suddenly it wouldn't connect to the router. I called Ring support and they extended the trial period out to the end of last month. Ring (not so) Pro was working like a champ until 062018, and walla, you guessed it, out it went again, close to the end of the trial period. out it went again. Several phone calls and pictures of the wiring and all sent including the indoor ringer and finally the transformer for the doorbell and chime. After the last picture, the doorbell transformer, and walla, the support staff had their answer, it was the transformer, it wasn't strong enough. Well, it had been strong enough for almost 6 months and the doorbell (not so) Pro still rings and the indoor ringer still works, but, the doorbell (not so) Pro doesn't connect to the router. Each time it got close to where you had to put money down to continue the service, a problem occurred. Now, here's the real catch, the readings on the doorbell (no so) Pro anymore read good to excellent AND the router is closer to the doorbell (not so) Pro than either the doorbell transformer or indoor ringer. If I had a 10-12 foot either net cable and the doorbell (not so) Pro anymore had an ethernet connection I could wire directly to the router. This thing even has an IP address listed which correlates to my router IP address. So, finally, go figure and buyer beware.

A little disappointed
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got my ring doorbell back in August 2020, the first 30 days was awesome work with no problems, no delays, or buffing. Now fast forward a few months later it works but trying to watch the video live is sometimes a hit or miss. Sometimes the video come on fast n other times it does not. When its important like someone is walking to your porch it will alert me but wont let me see the live video at that moment so I can see who is on or near my porch. But when its a rodent it will play live with no problems, so I'm some what happy cause of the price but you get what you pay for.

The Ring Pro is a good camera but could be better
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Keep in mind that WIRELESS cameras are not as RESPONSIVE to viewing when you FIRST press LIVEVIEW. If you want an immediate response, use POE ethernet(wired connection). It has nothing to do with your internet speed. The RING elite has this feature but it is a lot more expensive. If you are having problems with WIRELESS connections download a phone APP named WIFI ANALYZER. I did this and found my HP PRINTER had DIRECT WIFI turned on. Also, If you are having trouble with volume being too low, check your transformer spec. I replaced my 16 v 10va with 16v 30va and my volume is loud. I would like to see a LINE CROSSING function so direction of movement could be defined. I use a CHIME upstairs and downstairs and have turned off my internal mechanical doorbell inside the ring APP.

Soooo disappointed
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Wow- Was very excited to add to my home technology and cameras to my home. I had installed multiple Nest products with out any difficulty. I am a relatively tech savvy DIYer. The set up and inside wiring was easy to follow. I had to drill some holes into my brick and mortar outside of my door. Was easy with the included drill bit and my drill. Had wired the doorbell and it powered up easily. Was never able to initiate the setup of the device. After many attempts and 2 phone calls to tech support (1 phone call which was completely unhelpful) it was deemed that my unit was defective and they suggested I exchange the doorbell. I removed the unit and replaced the inside wiring to its original configuration. At that point I noticed that no power was going to doorbell system. Breaker is OK. It appears that something has happened to my transformer in attempting to set up my ring doorbell. I cannot say for sure it was the faulty doorbell that ruined my transformer; but can't say it wasn't either. I cannot find my transformer as it is likely hidden in the wall somewhere so I am likely stuck with purchasing a wireless bell. Who makes wireless doorbells........Perhaps RING? Well I am stuck with a nonfunctional system and have to consider purchasing another product from a company that I have no trust. No downside for them. I on the other hand........
