Easy install with good instructions
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm loving having this camera. We get a lot of solicitors and it's nice to be able to see when it's a sales person at the door or a delivery. Only thing I will say is you need to make sure you have strong wifi signal at the door. I happened to have a node of a mesh wifi network near by.

Delayed viewing
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I like the concept, but the actual is a little different. I installed this for my Dad at his home. After installation we connected the Ring to his iPhone tested it and there is quit a delay for connection and you have to hold the ring button down for a few seconds for it to actually work. :(

Posted .Hi Vonnez,
I'm sorry to hear about your Ring experience. What a great gift for your Dad! Notification delay is normally attributed to Wi-Fi / bandwidth connection, however we can take a further look into this for you to make sure we resolve this. Do you happen to know what your upload speed is? You can check by visiting www.bandwidthplace.com on your cell phone, and running a speed test right next to where your Ring Doorbell is installed. We also recommend running a speed test right next to your router, and comparing the two speeds. Sometimes, even with high internet speeds, the connection isn't as strong at the front of the house. I hope this helps!

Not happy with product
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First, the button is very hard to press. It's much harder than the expected average pressure. Second, the system keeps disconnecting from wifi. I have completed the set-up about two dozen times today. While at my childs sports practice it disconnected again and said I had to be standing nest the unit to reconnect - I was not home. My boys are gamers and our Internet connection us just one below what our provider calls the business level. We have smartTV and AppleTV we use with no issues. We even have a booster so ensure connectivity throughout the home. I have our Internet company coming out on Thursday to see if they can figure out the issue, if not, we wil return this item. I really hope we can resolve why it will not work when in the otherside of wass its mounted to is my sons room who has no issues with his gaming. Third, when it does work, the speaker sound is so low it will be drowned out by my 7 pound yorkie. Fouth, it sometines works on my sons phone but not mine. He gets the motion notification, I get nothing and the video can not be found on my phone at all.

Posted .Hi 4KidsKaren,
I would like the opportunity to the turn your experience around and get your device working to your desired expectations. You noted having a fast internet connection. Do you happen to know what your upload speed is? You can check by visiting www.bandwidthplace.com on your cell phone, and run a speed test right next to where your Ring Doorbell is installed. The firmness of your button should loosen up with use as it is new and may have had little to no use. I would like to get a little more information regarding the volume and you being unable to receive notifications on your phone. Would you reach me today at Tamia.Dorris@ring.com so that we can improve your Ring experience?

Replacement policy is bogus!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We installed this unit easily and enjoyed it immensely for about a year, then our problems began! Our unit died, so we called Ring to request replacement. After three hours on the phone, second level tech suppprt finally agreed it was defective and sent a replacement unit. Unfortunately, this unit was also defective. As a network engineer, I was able to capture the wireless transmissions using wire shark. The replacement advertised it’s ssid only 1-5 times at only -83 dB and then dropped connections the few times I was able to attempt a setup connection quickly enough. When I called support again, they requested that I install a different doorbell transformer that held 16 - 24 volts and that I bypass my existing doorbell (ring device). I did so, but the replacement unit still failed as before. They then sent out a second replacement. This unit also failed out of the box. It advertised it’s ssid at only -93 dB, completely insufficient. Additionally, once it exited setup mode, it tried to “reconnect” to a previously configured wireless router (someone else’s not mine). I captured the wireless connection attempts on wireshark so am able to prove that they sent me a defective refurbished unit in a new box, trying to pass it off as new. I then purchased a brand new unit from a different local bigbox. It installed easily proving my wireless and electrical setup were not any part of the problem. What do you know? I was still burning from my interactions with Ring so ultimately decided to return it because I am so uncomfortable with their having tried to pass of a refurbished unit as a new one. Glad some other reliable companies are entering the market.

Close but...
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Still needs a slight revision to address those of us with front porches. Need to be able to open up the light sensitivity aperture wise. Because sun is bright way out in yard causes dark rendering at the front door. The motion zone appears unrelated to the light setting. Awesome product if we could fix this aspect. Happy to work with developers. My son has older product and he prevented a would be suspect person trying different keys in his front door lock. Ring sent him messages and police were called.

Great product
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The ring pro is a great upgrade from the Ring doorbell Just make sure your current doorbell has anywhere from 8volt to 16volt otherwise you will have to have someone go out to your house to upgrade your doorbell transformer. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought the Ring, it worked one day and went dead. I took it back and bought the ring Pro because it was smaller, easier to install and not as obvious as the other doorbell. When I installed it, it didn’t work so I called Rings customer service (Who was rude). They informed me that my bandwidth was not great enough, even though I have Xfinity. It took two weeks for the cable company to come out and check my bandwidth. They switched out my modem and did other due diligence but the device still did not work. It lasted maybe an hour and then nothing. Shortly after that, my grandmother got sick and died. After the funeral, I tried to take the device back and was told by the Geek squad manager that because I was over the 15 day return policy, the product could not be returned. Now I am stuck with a worthless product that I paid $250 and has not worked since the day I purchased it. Do not buy this product because the bandwidth required to operate it is not obtainable unless you have a constant business WIFI with an upload speed of 24 or higher and a download speed of 58 or higher.

its almost worth it
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.buy something else. many delays resulting in people sometimes leaving before i can answer the door. does not work with my existing door chime resulting in an annoying humming sound for 10 seconds. i ended up installing a peep hole and a ring chime to compensate for the poor product performance. Ring does NOT support chimes other than theirs, so, if you have this problem you will get nowhere with it also. nest looks pretty good....just sayin’...

Nice Camera
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm really enjoying my Ring Doorbell camera. It does everything I need. My only complaint is that the motion sensor has a delay sometimes when you open up the app to see motion at the door.

Released before ready
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really can't believe any of the good reviews are legitimate. I have exchanged many units but all are defective. They either send alerts all night every night or don't have live view. You can't set your motions zones without Live View working! You cannot turn down the sensitivity because on the Pro model, there is no slider in the app. You have to call tech support. Both issues: all night motion alert and no Live View are KNOWN issues with no resolution to date. Your current door bell system may not be compatible but you won't know until you try. I feel I was used as an uncompensated beta tester. I have a totally useless unit right now!

When it works it's great
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have a love hate relationship with the ring camera. When it works and I can check live alerts and correspond a with the person which is rare i love the ring. Then 90 percent of the time it doesn't do any of that and I regret purchasing it. I have had my cable company out to my house twice to configure the internet no other devices have internet or connection issues but the ring doorbell pro camera. I even bought abd returned the ring wifi extender with no resolution to my issues

Unreliable in the long run
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased the doorbell pro and the stick up cam at the same time. The doorbell constantly refused to stream on demand and seemed to get slower and slower when reporting a motion. (delivery people would be back in the truck before the motion would alert) Finally, over the past few weeks, the doorbell will disconnect when I answer a ring. When I say disconnect, I have to remove the doorbell, disconnect the wires and then reconnect. After this the whole pairing process starts over. And yes, I had excellent wifi signals. It just happened for the third time. Strike three. I cancelled my monitoring account and am looking for something else. DO PAY ATTENTION to the negative reviews. They are real, and they are current. BTW, the stick up cam never worked properly either. The contrast between bright and darker areas completely throws it off.

Horrible Experience
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I would absolutely not recommend these cameras to anyone! I purchased a doorbell pro and 2 stick up cams 5 months ago from Best Buy and after the first 30 days of horrible issues I attempted to return them. Best Buy has a 15 day return policy!! Really? So I contacted Ring and they said they have to troubleshoot first. As of now, 5 months later, they are still trouble shooting. In their troubleshooting process I have had my entire house rewired from my internet provider, my internet upgraded, a new upgraded modem and a new wi fi router ($600 more). What am I left with? My outside cam, which has completely stopped working all together, can’t be more than 5’ from the room with the wi fi. The doorbell pro most of the time won’t pick up the motions it’s set for, and my other camera, set on the lowest setting, seems like it is picking up flies flying and is constantly turning on. So after $1200 into this process and 5 months I have one paperweight, one I charge all the time because it picks up everything, and one that works at random times. Service still wants to troubleshoot. I guess I can’t blame them, I wouldn’t want these back either.

Beware of internal battery.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Just under a year, we started to have problems with the doorbell. I contacted Ring service, they helped me reset it. A month out of warranty same issue doorbell would just stop working even though this was hardwired. Called Ring, all they wanted to do was sell me another doorbell. Started looking at different videos, tried every thing these external videos showed, and then came across one that shows there is an internal battery and that it may need to be charged. Tried that and still cannot get this doorbell to work. I assume that it just went too long without changing the internal battery that it no longers work. Ring support was so unhelpful! They just wanted me to buy another doorbell. Be aware, when your doorbell does start to go offline, that you do have charge the internal battery and that on the Ring Pro they do not mention it anywhere nor does Ring Support tell you about it. This was an absolute waste of money!

Doesn't Perform Like it Should
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I installed my Ring doorbell pro three years ago. I have a strong signal to my router (router is located right behind the wall where the doorbell is), but whenever I receive a notification on my phone that the doorbell detects movement, it takes at least 30 seconds or longer before the doorbell's video loads. Whatever movement was detected is usually long gone by then, but I can still see what was detected by viewing the videos that were saved on Ring's server. If someone actually pushes the button on the doorbell, that's a different story. Pushing the doorbell button kills the doorbell completely. No saved video files, no looking at live video for at least 2 minutes, no communication through the doorbell whatsoever. If I'm at home, the doorbell does still ring inside the house, but that's really all it's good for. I could have kept my analog doorbell for that. All in all, it works well enough as a cheap security camera, but completely fails as a doorbell. Also, I did purchase the doorbell when Ring promised upcoming Apple Homekit compatibility. Ring never followed through on that promise. I really wish I purchased a different doorbell.

Not great at all
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Install was super easy. From there it was downhill. It would sometimes ring the doorbell, sometimes it wouldn't. Sometimes it has a delay, sometimes it wouldn't. I went back checked all my wires and they were good. So far the ring doorbell was a horrible doorbell. I figured i would go ahead and finish set up of the camera via the app. When I was done I planned on calling ring customer service to have them possibly help me with why the ring doorbell was not ringing every time. When the camera was set I had my wife go test the motion. After changing the settings time and time again it only notice motion one time. Sometimes she would ring the doorbell and the chime would sound but the ring never activated the app or recording to see who was there. I again tried everything i could and it didn't work. I wasn't keeping a device that was $250 and couldn't record when needed or even sound the chime everytime pressed. RETURNED FOR REFUND!!! I would not reccomend for anyone.

It quit working!...
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It worked fine for 2 weeks after installation: by fine, I mean it would send motion alarms every 5 to 10 minutes, so I had to turn the function off for the night to be able to fall asleep. When we were out of town, it only worked every other time when I wanted to check the live view. Several days ago, it just quit working altogether... That's too bad because I wasted hours trying to reset and to reconnect the device to my wifi. I have a very strong signal and the best wifi router available on the market so far (a tri-band Netgear Nighthawk x8), positioned about 25 feet from the entrance, with a very good, stable signal. The manufacturer has to make sure the device works flawlessly if they charge $250, so maybe they will make it better in couple of years. I'm returning mine to get the money back.

Premature Product
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This product is not mature for production. I pre-ordered the Ring Pro, and I didn’t have the benefit of many reviews before I purchased. I sure wish I had waited. I tried two separate units and spent hours on the phone and writing emails with Ring’s technical support departments, only to ultimately return the Doorbell Pro for a refund. Setup seems easy enough: Wire a little circuit board to the house’s existing doorbell transformer, wire up the Ring Pro unit outside, connect to WiFi, and go. Except it didn’t ever work. I wired the Ring correctly (verified by tech support, and I monitored the system's voltage with a meter), but on each unit, the video would never work. Then, after a few minutes, the Pro units became unresponsive. Ring’s technical support tried to help, and I spent hours on the phone with them. I sent the first unit back for a new one, only to have the smae result. In the end, technical support admitted these units have major issues, and offered a full refund, which I accepted. I wasted hours of my time, only to end up where I started. The idea behind this product is a great one. However, I get the impression this model was pushed out for sale prematurely.
