Avoid - Pure Junk w/ Major Issues

After having it installed for 4 days, I have already had to call into tech support, done 3 resets and it still has major issues. It doesn't reliably detect motion until someone is walking away or not even at all (had UPS drop off packages yesterday and there was no notification of the event). Also, the unit's IR lights get stuck on during the day, so the view is always in black/white. With these issues, I can't recommend this unit to anyone. It is getting returned...

Didn't work, customer service unhelpful

The service representative told me it was a manufacturer defect and that they would send me a new one. I returned the old product and was mailed a new product that was once again defective. Contacted customer service again, went through the same process again, and was sent a third defective product. I really wanted to like this product but am disappointed that every product I have received is defective. Would definitely not recommend.

Not working properly

I have a high wifi connection. We have wired it correctly. The doorbell rings inside and outside. It will ring to our phone, but we get an error saying having trouble connecting to phone. I have researched it and tried the suggestions. We have tried it on 2 Samsung phones and one tablet and same problem on all. I was so excited about this purchase. Live view is choppy to. I think we are going to have to return it.

Too unreliable
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.If the Ring Pro always worked like it did when I first set it up, I'd be giving it 5 stars. Unfortunately over the months it became less and less reliable, and would eventually completely freeze anytime the doorbell rang. Now I've had it for less than a year and the unit has completely died. I'm working with their customer support to hopefully get a replacement, but even if that works I still wouldn't recommend Ring to anyone; a doorbell should be rock solid and Ring simply isn't.

Great Concept, Very Poor Performance

Worked pretty good for a week now it won't feed any video. I get notices that I have motion on my front porch but then I get a message that I have internet problems. Weird. All my other wi-fi devices are working just fine. Tech support gave me a line about all the other people in my neighborhood having similar problems. Hmmm, weird again, they don't have Ring doorbells. Blew me off. This product is most likely going back.

Horrible

While in the house the video lags by the time you it loads who ever has been here is already gone.. and yes my door bell is in same room as internet ... again does not work as advertised , worst product i have ever had. If it lags its not worth it , if you can not see it when your away from the house ( as advertised ) it is not worth the money .

Oh no, this is not the Ring experience that we intended for you to have. I see that you noted having a fast internet connection. Do you happen to know what your upload speed is? You can check by visiting www.bandwidthplace.com on your cell phone, and running a speed test right next to where your Ring Doorbell is installed. We also recommend running a speed test right next to your router and comparing the two speeds. Sometimes, even with high internet speeds, the connection isn't as strong at the front of the house. A basic plan for $3/month - $30/per year per camera and a Protect plan for an unlimited amount of cameras for $10/month - $100/per year, you can access/download/share past Ring videos. Without this service, you'll still receive real-time video alerts on your smartphone. Awful Button Design

If the button receives any direct sunlight, the button will crack. Ring will not fix the button. The only option is to replace the entire unit. Ring does not stand behind the product. They will only offer you a 35% discount to buy a new unit. Awful customer service. Do a search and you will find hundreds of instances. Do not purchase.

No Not Buy

I am getting 21-volts at the door bell but still will not power one. Contact support they had me go through all this bull crap to tell me I need to buy a 24-volt adaptor and run more wires for it to work. Wouldn’t recommend their products to anyone. I am returning this product.

Failed

Every day after that during the trail period product failed to to catch movement and events. Ring Pro >Win 10 app, looks great but started allowing unknown devices to directly link to my PC as devices to cast to. Poor: security and support, and no control of video feed. I regret this investment and the stick up cams. False sense of control. Live and learn.

Couldn't Get it to Work

Hired professional electrician to install it and he even contacted Ring Tech Support, but together they could never get it to work as intended. And because it took several attempts and given the electricians schedule, we were beyond the 15 day Best Buy return period. So now we're stuck with a $250 paperweight.

Ring Doorbell Stopped Working, Reset Required

Was operational for 6 weeks prior to move to summer vacation home. After one week away Ring DB stopped working. Tech support confirmed that local reboot (reset) was required which is impossible since I am at a location 1200 miles away for the season. Bummer that remote reset capability not available

Never again

I called to have it "professionally" installed. They took my money and said it was installed. I waited weeks for it to be installed. The owner of the company called and apologized and made sure someone came. it never worked more than week and now I'm out $400. Please, don't waste your time and money.

Simple install that "should" work

After reading other reviews I have determined other purchasers had same or other problems with this specific model. Side button to pair up device with wifi never worked. I'm done with this until I read about major improvements or will chose another smart door bell. Returning this product to store.

They will continue to put you off, until your tired of dealing with them and you go away. If you try to write a negative review on their social media, they will delete and block you. Buy another product

Ring is sending me a replacement Ring Doorbell. I have sent hours troubleshooting the device. Don't waste your money.

Stay away from any Ring device!

Color and lighting also an issue. Ring support is also lacking. Talked with 3 reps. None are tech savvy. Be prepared to set up a router outside next to this piece of junk. Stay away from any Ring product!

Terrible customer service

Probably spent 20 hrs troubleshooting over the past months and customer service is never able to resolve the issues — No ownership from anyone there. I’ve given up and am throwing the Ring in the garbage. Nest doorbell here I come.

Worst customer service ever

They don't respond to email and getting a hold of someone on the phone is a long wait. They asked me to send a photo of my doorbell ringer device and then never responded to multiple emails. Unacceptable.

Video becomes all black and white

Nothing worked. I emailed support but the issue remains. I found on Ring community forums that this problem of losing color happened to other owners of the unit.

The Ring Pro has day and night vision. Night vision videos are displayed in black in white until there is enough light that touches the camera to readjust. I recommend placing you Ring Pro at an angle where it can receive more light so it does not stay in night vision all the time.
