My mind is laid to rest with a camera with motion monitoring is present at my doorway. I'm looking forward to the HomeKit integration that is coming in the near future. Though quality is 1080p, I would consider it to be subpar to other cameras. However with the limited power source that a doorbell provides, it is more than suffice. Would def recommend to anyone.

I looked at several doorbell cameras, ring has the best features. Easy install, I needed to replace my transformer for a larger capacity to power both my chime & the Ring. Called customer service & was very helpful.

    Piece of Garbage

This is an overpriced piece of garbage. The customer service is worse. No matter what the problem is, it's something other than their product and they don't answer specific questions. I asked about transformer wattage since my existing was 16 volts and 10 watts. I was told that I needed a 16-24 volt transformer. I replaced it with a 16 volt 30 watt. My doorbell still kept buzzing and ringing by itself. No help. I disconnected my mechanical doorbell. They wanted me to buy their bell. It worked okay for about 30 days then the night vision starts turning on during the day. I'm in Arizona and it's August. The doorbell faces north under the covered patio. I was told that the ambient light levels were to low, and that I should mount the doorbell somewhere else. It's a hard wired doorbell pro. Where should I mount it? In the back yard? Where the sun would shine directly on it. The night vision started turning off at night also recording black screen. Motion alerts every time it switches. They finally tell me they would replace it because the night vision turns off at night. I'm glad I bought the extended warranty, because I returned this garbage to the store. Then bought an 8 channel 4 camera DVR system for the same price. It was more difficult to install, but worth it. Don't buy Ring products.

I felt in love with this product, until it died on me after 6 weeks of working flawless. As an electronic product, there could be a failure. So I exchange it for a new one, since I got the Best Buy extended warranty. So now I'm in my second one. Again, it worked perfectly. So easy to install and usage of software. This time, after 3 weeks, it stopped working again. I contacted the support team from Ring (which were very prompt in their response) and after doing all their recommendations, providing photos of installation, checking voltage and WiFi signal they couldn't help me. So now I have a dead Ring Doorbell Pro, no support (they just stop answering my emails) and wasted $200 on this product. I have two other Ring cameras that work perfect. So that's why I said, the Pro doesn't live up to its standards.

I was very excited about this Doorbell. I loved the idea of having boundaries for motion alerts. Problem was the motion alerts were either too sensitive or not sensitive enough. Also the live view would only work part of the time. It was frustrating enough that I took it back. There are some bugs that still need to be worked out.

Horrible Video Quality, Stay with Ring 2

I started out with the Ring 2 and I had no issues. I "upgraded" a few days later on Black Friday when the Pro went on sale. At first everything was fine but then the video would become pixelated and the audio choppy, and only when there was movement. If I would just look at live video with nothing moving, everything looked great. I reported this to tech support and they were very patient but could not solve the issue at the time and offered to send out a Chime Pro, suggesting that this would help. After receiving and installing the Chime Pro I made another call to tech support for the same issue. This time it was suggested again that my Wifi was to blame, although the speed and stability was fine and we can stream videos all day long without an issue. I have now purchased an a new router, WiFi extender, and setup a Mesh network and I am still having the same issue. I really wish I would have stayed with the older unit and could take this one back.

Purchased Ring door bell November 2020. At first the door bell worked like it should. At night I was able to see clear and at a further distance. Then the doorbell apparently malfunctioned. My visual at night went from clear to dark, I adujusted the night vision setting and this did not resolve the issue. Attached are pictures that shows in a couole of minutes it goes from a clear visual to a dark visual. The day visual is ok. Several emails to Rings costumer support and I received no response. I have researched this issue and was unable to find a solution. Not pleased considering I spent over $500 in Ring products for security and a piece of mind. What I am left with is fustration......

    Too large for application

Unfortunately this item isn't a fit all application. We bought this to replace a standard door bell, looking for the security of a camera. The Ring is rather large and clunky, it would not fit where our current door bell was located. We decided on the wireless Ring Camera instead, which works great.

Worked for two days.....now I have a sign on my door “knock loudly bell not working” Ring have been in touch with numerous emails back and forth, I’ll keep you posted if and when it gets back in action ( btw it’s not our WiFi as we have a super fast package) seems to ‘not be getting enough power to the ring’......if you google this it is a known problem.

I have had nothing but problems. I paid $50 for the Ring tech to install. The camera did not work. Geek Squad came out. Replaced the Ring. Still did not work. He said I did not have enough download speed with AT&T. I changed to Comcast for more speed. Talked to a Ring tech for a very long time. Rebooted it numerous times. Motion detector still does not work. Camera works sometimes. I am very disappointed in this product.

Slick video doorbell with a few issues

We purchased the Ring Pro after hearing news stories of local residents catching prowlers and would-be burglars on video camera footage. The instructions were pretty clear and setup was not too complicated, though we had a contractor do the install because he had to drill into an old stucco wall which we were afraid may crumble. The unit has a clean look, the 1080p video is very clear, and the sound is surprisingly decent. Being able to watch live views and get notifications of movement with mobile phone notifications is a great feature, as is the cloud storage of past video events. The only issue we have had is the unit occasionally goes offline by itself and won't come back online until it is manually reset by poking an included tool into a hole in the unit. This problem would render the unit worthless if we were out of town when this actually happened. We've had the Ring Pro about 4 months and it's only had this error like 3-4 times so far. Also, when you use your phone to voice the speaker in the doorbell, visitors can hardly hear you unless they stick their ear right up to the unit or it is absolutely silent in your front yard with zero traffic. Hopefully they can fix that with some kind of software update in the future. With the exception of these issues, we are happy overall with the unit and it does bring us some piece of mind.

Needs a few tweaks, but works alright

I love this doorbell, however I do have some issues with it. Setup was straight forward. I think most techies will have no problem with the install. There is also a YouTube video that I found after the install that further clarifies the install. I didn't expect the Pro Power Kit part of the install, but it was a breeze. I had a minor hangup with the software setup and WiFi pairing, but after a couple retries it worked. My issue may have since been resolved as I was on a very early firmware. I've excluded a lot of issues from my review that the current firmware resolves. I'm on firmware version 1.0.50. One major con for me is that there is a delay between pressing the button and the physical hardwired mechanical doorbell ringing. In my opinion, there is no excuse or reason that a hardwired doorbell should ever have a delay. I expect some delay in receiving a notification on my phone, but there is a direct physical connection to the chime. I truly hope that Ring is able to resolve this in an update. The second major con is with the activity log. There is NO easy way to delete multiple entries in the app. I struggled at first to even figure out how to delete individual entries. You must press an entry and then slide your finger to the left and a trash can will show up. You can't select multiple entries and delete en masse though, so good luck if you have a ton of motion alerts. This is such a simple concept that it boggles my mind that this issue even exists. You can, however, delete multiple entries by signing into the Web site. Speaking of motion alerts, I drew a pretty conservative motion zone on my front porch, but all night passing cars caused motion alerts. Apparently a little change in light levels from passing cars is enough to trigger the alerts. There needs to be some sensitivity adjustment beyond the motion zones. This issue has gotten better over the last few updates, but I still get a half dozen or so alerts per night. I also don't always get alerts when someone walks directly in front of the doorbell. There is a delay between motion detection and recording. I often get recordings of butts walking away from, not towards the doorbell. It would be nice to have this always recording and when motion is sensed, include the previous 30 seconds or so. Another issue that isn't huge, but could maybe be incorporated into a later hardware revision is camera adjustment. There is none currently. If your camera needs to be aimed downwards or in any direction, you must physically tilt the entire doorbell. The wide angle lens helps some, but the only true fix is to have a way to adjust the internal camera itself. You can only tilt the doorbell a bit before it looks hideous. I really do like the live view feature. It has worked very well so far. The night vision is excellent as well. You can't initiate live view from the Ring Web site though. I also linked my Ring with my Wink hub. I have it automating my front porch light with doorbell presses. I gave up on motion for now as there are too many false alerts at night. Being able to share users is also nice as you don't have to give your account info to everyone that you want to be able to access the doorbell - they can create their own. You can also revoke their privileges if need be. Only the primary account can delete recordings though. I will probably pay for the ring+ service after the trial expires for $30/year. I would feel better having more control over the product though and being able to store videos locally rather than relying on "the cloud". Support is available from 9am to 6pm Pacific, which is good for me being on the east coast. Prior to the product's release, I was able to find the dimensions on the Ring web site and build a wood plate to match the contour of my home's siding that would also recess the doorbell a little bit. I commend the Ring team for having accurate dimensions as my plate fits perfectly. I feel like this really sets the doorbell apart and draws attention away from its size, which is still pretty big compared to a normal doorbell. Ring would be wise to consider offering something similar I think.

Love it! This was the easiest installation of anything that I've ever done! Not only were the instructions simple to follow, but everything that I could possibly need was included - right down to the wall plugs and even the screwdriver! The video quality is good enough, and the night vision is adequate. I like that I can stream the audio and video to my echo show as well as my phone, and (via Alexa routines) I can configure my sound system outside to tell me when somebody is at the door. Great for when guests are over and we've ordered food. I also link it to my smart lights so that between certain hours, movement outside will turn on a light inside for a random amount of time. The app is pretty intuitive and has a lot of functionality. I like that the detected motion images are also sent to my smart watch for absolute minimal effort. The custom motion detection zones are great for only capturing movement where I want to, so I don't get alerts when a car drives past or when the neighbor over the road comes home. I don't subscribe to any of the premium services, but I get everything I need from the basic unit. Very happy with the purchase and I'm encouraged to buy more Ring products.

Installing the power adapter to my door bell chime inside the house was pretty straight forward. I have good power to the door bell and the inside chime does ring. The video is crisp and clear and the night vision camera is also pretty clear, albeit, I keep a porch light on. I now know who all of my delivery drivers are...lol. I keep motion about 3/4 setting and so far not getting unnecessary alerts. Love the live viewing feature. I have the Linksys Velop WiFi mesh network system so I’m not having issues with dropping WiFi or anything like that. Make sure you have a good WiFi signal to your doorbell.
