I bought this ring doorbell camera for Christmas to see how good it would work for my house. So far, it does what it says on the box and it also works great with alexa, but it doesn't work great with google yet--you can only do limited command with google. The app for this ring doorbell is awful, sometimes it takes too long to open and it keeps on sending me too many alerts. I have programmed the device so that it only picks up people and gave it an area to send me an alert, but it keeps on sending me too many alerts. Overall the device works, it's not perfect, but since I got it on sale, I figure I give it a try.

Pros: Really like the night vision and camera angle. The cloud service option does a great job of starting the recording before the motion or ring of the doorbell to capture the entire interaction. Great product as long as you plan to pay for their cloud service. Cons: Notification of doorbell ringing or motion does not come across quick enough to catch anyone at the door, unless they are waiting there for a response, approx 2-4 seconds. By the time you get the notification on your phone, you click answer, and the app launches on your phone, no one is ever still in view. Must use the cloud service to make the motion detection useful. If you do not plan to pay for the cloud service, the motion detection will be useless.

Love the Ring doorbell! Love the security it adds to my house!

Great product, super easy installation with super easy and accurate installation instructions. The video quality is great, the ability to set sensitivy and zoom are awesome features. Highly recommend.

I love this concept. I love it when I’m at home on wifi. Out and about I can hardly ever view it live so I pay for the cloud service. That could be my cell providers fault though. My wife had a different cell service and it works better but not perfect. Set up took longer than expected as I had to call into customer service because it wasn’t connecting to WiFi. They had to reset the ring and then it worked. It’s great that I can see every package, every person and every cat that comes by our door. I’m interested to see how it will work with Alexa Show. Will try that in the future. Overall I’m keeping it and it’s more useful than not.

The camera on this doorbell is so clear as well as the sound.

Very easy installation process with existing wired doorbell.

Was very easy to install and works perfectly. It is very sensitive to movement and has large capture area. Only thing I have noticed is that if you connection on your cellphone is bad it takes a while to load the video.

I bought this because I wanted to know who’s at my door. The camera is very clear day and night, and we have very few false alarms. Another plus us that it’s hard wired so no batteries to replace.

This nifty little gadget was seriously easy to install, it took less than 10 minutes. It came with brackets that can help you adjust the angle of the device if your door bell was in an awkward location. The daytime and the nighttime visuals are great. The biggest downfall I've noticed so far is the lag between the device and our phones and when people are talking to me from my front door, i can't understand them, they sound all broken up. We have good internet, so I know that can't be the issue. If anything, this is a great deterrent for prospective criminals. I'm considering getting the Ring with the lights for in front of our garage.

I think this is a must have for the home. Worth every penny

I bought this for Christmas present for my wife. Installation and set up was easy enough. Worked for a while but then we had a brief power outage and it would never recognize the network after that. On the positive side, we recently called Ring and they shipped us a new unit that I will be installing soon.

Very quick and easy to install. Don’t need to be really tech or mechanical savvy. My router is about 6 ft from the device so haven’t had any connection problems. Video is very crisp and clear. Wide range on the camera.

Instant motion alerts and ultraclear video make this a class leading device. I have tried other video doorbells and had issues with wi-fi reception and alert delays. I just purchased the Ring Stick Up cams and they work great also!

Too easy. It does what it says. Basic tech I would recommend

I have had both type of Ring Doorbells. The Pro model is much better. The video and ability to refine your active area are much improved. Mine is hard wired to an existing doorbell which eliminates the need for batteries. The thing I see that could use a little improvement is the video quality in the shadows with a sunny background. This may be impossible as all cameras seem to have this same problem. The other thing would be the availability to mass delete videos instead having to do them individually. Other than this it is a great product since you are able to see and speak to anyone at your door even if they don't ring the doorbell. Great for security and being able to see packages left at your door.
