I bought this after researching companies like ADT, etc. This was so easy to install with the existing wiring for the doorbell that was on my front door, and I don't need to worry about battery replacement or charging. The Ring app works great on my phone and tablet, and I get really good images, even at night. Comes with 30 days free cloud storage and after that, it is $30/year per camera. I also installed the floodlight camera in my back yard, so for $60/year, I have peace of mind that I can control with my phone, even when not at home. I can talk to the person at the door, warn them away or even sound a siren on the floodlight cam. I would highly recommend this product.

After I finally got the doorbell hooked up correctly it was great & easy to set up. The one thing I don't like is that it uses my Wi-Fi. Other than that it came as expected and hook up of it was fairly easy if they were clear on what type of transformer you have to purchase or have to make it operate correctly. Don't go by the list that Ring support sends you it requires 24v 20va to operate correctly...at least that's my experience. I tried a 16v & that didn't work so I decided to up the voltage & exchange the doorbell at best buy. After all we're all good

I purchased the Ring - Video Doorbell Pro at Best Buy. I had read the reviews on line prior to purchasing. The basic installation was easy. However, I had trouble getting it to communicate with my cell phone. I called the tech support number and they tried to correct the problem. I found out from them, the router does not penetrate drywall very well. It bounces off objects, Therefore the advertised signal travel distance of 30 feet between the router and the doorbell is restricted based on the number of walls and objects it hits prior to the signal reaching the doorbell. My cable/router/wifi, etc, are located in the rear corner of the house and my front doorbell is in the center front, I could not get a good signal strength. The signal from my router to the doorbell was very weak. Tech support did not tell me to replace the router but since it was several years old I replaced it.. This still did not solve my problem. Tech support told me to return the router to the store if I wanted, but I needed to add an "extender". I added an "extender" to the router and placed it an equal distance between the router and the doorbell. This solved the problem. But then the existing hardwired door bell chime no longer worked. Tech support sent me the wires to bypass the existing hardwired doorbell and a new remote doorbell chime. After a two week period of phone calls to tech support, my system works great. One lesson I learned from the installation experience, was that RING is a new company and has growing problems.. The tech support individuals that first answer the phone are very limited in their knowledge. If you need help with issues other than the instructions included with the product, there are only about 10 associates that can help you. You will have to make a date/time appointment for them to call back and assist you. These more advanced associates have a very good knowledge of the Ring equipment, are very patient, and great while helping you. They do e-mail you with a reference number so if you have further problems the same person will assist you. I have no complaint with tech support. The RING system works better than I expected. The camera is good. I am very satisfied with it. One thing to remember, it is an internet and WIFI system. It can only notify you when you are connected to the internet or WIFI. As long as I am connected to WIFI. it performs as advertised. I am very limited in my technical knowledge of all the new equipment that use the routers, internet and WIFI. A more tech savvy individual may have been better understood how routers connect to other items and have a better installation experience.

Although I think there are a few improvements that could be made its worked very well so far. I love that you can actually see who's at the door no matter where you are at. The Ring is very sensitive so even if they don't actually ring the door bell the motion sensor will alert you. That however is one of the drawbacks. If your Ring faces an area where you have plants or shrubs the wind will make them move causing your Ring to notify you of someone at the door when there isn't anyone there. You can shrink the area that the motion sensor covers but in my case then I pretty much cancel out much of the front of the house. I would prefer if could adjust the sensitivity of the motion sensor and not just the area it covers. It would also be nice if you could shut off the motion sensor notification and only have the notification if someone actually rings the door bell. Other than that I would recommend the Ring Pro to add to your WiFi enabled home.

This essay with the good camera. It has very clear video the only thing that I do not like is that sometimes it cuts off. I don’t like when someone is a doorbell or there’s more to me try to going to live with you and your phone doesn’t connect to it right away it says connecting connecting connecting and so by that time probably the person has already have left and by the way I have an iPhone x with 256 of memory So I know it’s not my phone but overall I would really have to say it’s the best camera out there a little things to work on but overall very happy with the product

My family gets a lot of packages in the mail, and with the news frequently highlighting package thefts from front doors, I decided on getting a Ring Doorbell especially hearing great things from podcasts. The space where my original door bell is tight, and the Ring Doorbell Pro just barely fits.
The actual installation was very easy. It took me about 30 minutes to install it. I could have installed it faster, but I was being very cautious. I wasn’t able to see video on my phone from the Ring Doorbell until after 3 hours. This was after trying to find information from the internet, and talking with Ring Doorbell support person who ignored my questions about what some of the lights meant while I was trying to assist in troubleshooting. He felt that I wasn’t getting enough power to the Ring Doorbell, but he was incorrect. After waiting for 3 hours, and worrying that I would need to give up and take it back to the store, I was able to see video after the doorbell was pressed.
My door is slightly recessed into the wall, so my original door bell was also recessed. Unfortunately this causes a tunnel view for the Ring Doorbell camera. It still works, but at night the infrared gets reflected by the wall back into the camera lens. This reflection makes me concern that I won’t be able to see people clearly at night. This isn't a camera flaw, and I only pointing this out to alert others whose original door bell is also recessed in the wall. I am considering seeing if I can find material to absorb some of the IR light to reduce the reflection back into the lens.
I love the product after the issues I encountered were resolved (by just waiting). The cloud recording is great, and $30 a year for it seems reasonable. I watched people while I work via the cloud recording ring my doorbell and get a surprised look on their face when they see where the USPS has hidden a package. Unfortunately I haven’t answered my doorbell remotely, because I sometimes leave my phone at my desk at work. I get bummed that I missed answering my door by a few minutes.
Currently this is more of a toy for me, because where I live is relatively safe and we haven’t had any burglaries in the neighborhood. It gives me a piece of mind that if someone decides to do something, I have video of it. I like the doorbell so much, I am considering getting a Ring Stickup Cam for the backyard.

I was hesitant to buy this when I saw several reviews of people saying it was really buggy, but I'm glad I did it. This thing is amazing. It's so cool having a view of your front door anytime. The recording feature is incredible, and the annual price for optional storage is very reasonable.
Installation was fairly straight forward. Adding the extra wires to the existing inside doorbell box (new step required compared to old Ring version) was pretty easy. The Ring doorbell itself just takes the two wires from the old doorbell, so that's dead simple. The most difficult part for me was having to drill through solid brick. While they do include a masonry bit, you'll need a very strong drill (hammer drill preferred) and probably a smaller, sharper bit to drill a pilot hole to get the job done.
I left off 1 star because there's a current bug where motion sensing does not work in night vision mode. It basically sets off a false alert every 10 minutes because of an ambient light check. They are working on it, but I've found a solid workaround is to just turn on my porch lights.
Other than that, my notifications have been very accurate, and video quality is very good. This version itself is also pretty small, so it looks very sleek next to the door.
The web interface and Windows 10 app are also nice surprises in how well they work. You can easily share links to any of your recordings (comes in handy for showing friends how it works). The Windows 10 app gives you all the same functionality of the device on your PC, so you can answer an event or just view past videos.
Overall, it's a very impressive device and adds a great deal of piece of mind for my home security.

Easy to install, if you watch the video instructions on line and understand what the steps are. Good picture, good sensitivity. Like the hard wired aspect and not the battery. Liked the choice of covers. Some difficulty in connecting but when it did it has worked fine. Good night vision on the camera. Some difficulty in establishing the zones instructions are vague and hard to understand but once you have a good view just leave it alone, Satisfied with product so far, has good notifications on the ring and the motion.

Worth every penny. Amazing video quality. We have already recommended this to our family and friends. Showed them the video and it's features and they were all impressed with the quality of the videos and how clear they were. Some of our coworkers even went out to get one. Installation was easy. We had it up and working properly in about 20 mins. Wiring was easy. And set up was fast and simple. Overall, we are very pleased with this product and wish we got it sooner. We will be buying tht Ring Stick up cams to install in our backyard and side of garage.

Great camera and easy to set up once the door bell adapter is installed. However, it took me almost 2 hours to complete this process since you're dealing with an 18V wire which requires a solid connection for the "Ring" to operate as advertised. The "Ring" was easy to install at the front door, but you have to install a special adapter which you hook to the inside bell in order to hear you door bell ring. Its not hard if you know what you're doing but it takes time to get everything hooked up.

I have been searching for an option for a camera for the front of our house, we had looked at several options from different brands. We decided to go with a Ring because it offered the most functionality, and had a better price for the monthly video hosting. I picked the Ring Pro specifically because we already had an existing doorbell installed, and I liked the idea of the power being hardwired from our doorbell transformer. Upon opening the box, the instructions led me to download the app, and showed me a video to follow along with installation. Within 15 mins, I had the whole thing installed and connected to our home wi-fi network. I was extremely happy with the quality of video that this small unit produces. When we zoom in on video clips, we can seem very detailed images of faces from people walking down the street. After using the Ring Pro for a couple weeks, we have added a few motion zones so that we only get notified of motion in specific areas of our front yard (the drive way and sidewalk). I love that I know when people arrive at my house the moment they pull into our driveway; no more surprises! The best part is that we know that we can keep an eye out on our street and make it a safer place to live.

The Ring Video Doorbell Pro is a good front door monitoring system. It fit or need to have some sort of watch on our front door and driveway area, as one of our neighbors recently had their car vandalized. The picture quality is great for a device so small (in both dark and light situations) and the installation was simple. The directions were straight forward. The Ring also came packaged with a few different color options for the case that the device is housed in. In addition, the tech support for the Ring was spot on. I had to call because I was having an issue with the chime, and the customer service rep was patient, friendly and helpful . Overall great purchase for some peace of mind.
The only issue I would say I had with the device is that there seems to be a limit to how much you can modify the area of sensitivity to set off an alert.

I was astonished about the unboxing experience right out of the gate. It gave you everything you needed: Double Sided Screwdriver, 2 Mounting Plates, 4 Faceplates, screws, anchors, etc.
The install time took a better part of an afternoon; because the doorbell wouldn't fit where we had our last doorbell, so we had to drill extra holes, and seal them with Caulking; but, if you have enough area it could take less than an hour.
Setup was easy. It told you directly in the Ring App.
--PROS
- There is little to no lag from the time I press the doorbell, and get the notification on my phone (which is about 3 seconds).
- It has a nice, sleek design.
- The app is really easy, and clean to use.
- The doorbell has nice integration with other Ring products (Ring Alarm, Ring Spotlight Cams etc.)
- You can set times to mute the motion detection (that is called a rule) in the Ring app.
-- CONS
- The motion detection is wonky sometimes. At night, it picks up Car Lights in my motion zone. Since I live next to a busy neighborhood, I get about 50 notifications each night alone. If you have that problem (like me) you should set a rule to where it mutes it everyday from 9PM to 7AM.
- It could disconnect, and reconnect sometimes.
As you can see, the positives outweigh the negatives. Thank you for reading my review!

The Ring Pro doorbell is an awesome smart product that functions as an all-in-one doorbell, motion-sensor, two-way intercom – offering peace of mind with its security functionality. My wife and I owned the Ring 2 prior to the Pro, and loved it. The Pro has the same ‘basic’ functionality with some more sophisticated sensitivity settings within the app and motion-sensing tech. The main impetus that prompted me to ‘upgrade’ to the Pro from the Ring 2 was the Pro’s purely hardwired power supply. Now, of course, the Ring 2 is only equipped with a rechargeable battery, but it is also robust enough to be hardwired, charging the battery onboard without ever needing to recharge offline. However, in that my wife and I live in the Midwest where the winters can become exceptionally cold, the Ring 2’s lithium battery will drain as it gets colder even with passive operation, and the charging mechanism below freezing can stop working temporarily until the temperatures return to above freezing.
Like I said, the Pro does share common properties with the Ring 2, but has some sophisticated upgrades to those properties that sets it apart. The first is the motion sensing tech – The Pro senses motion by 2 distinct technologies – The first of which uses visible light to sense any changes in the environment; the second in tandem is a PIR (Passive Infrared) that is enabled when visible light becomes dimmer, double-checking the visible environmental change with a heat signature. The Ring 2 only uses PIR. This enables the Pro to have fancy camera perks like colored-night vision.
Overall, my wife and I love the device. I found the install quite easy, and the app set-up was a breeze. Make sure you have a router that outputs a strong signal to the device, as it communicates via WiFi – move router as close as possible, and maybe even use a designated 2.4 GHz signal (versus mixed). Remember, the signal needs to go through your wall to the outside.
If you have a hardwired doorbell already installed, it’s fairly simple to swap with the Ring Pro. Again, the Pro is solely hardwired. My original doorbell at our new house was in an awkward location on the doorframe that didn’t have enough real estate to accommodate the Pro body; so, I had to drill an ‘L’ path through the frame and brick to mount on brick – that wasn’t even that difficult. One more thing I will say is in response to the reams of online posts with individuals confused as to what transformer power supply should be used for optimal performance. Of course, this will depend on the length of wire you’re running…18 gauge bell wire – the longer runs due to resistance can reduce amperage and endpoint voltage. However, I’m running mine roughly 10-15 feet from a basement light junction box through upstairs wall to the door with no issue. I originally had a 16V/16V/A transformer, and it actually showed ‘good’ (>3700mV) rating in the Pro’s device health. However, I did upgrade to a 24V/40V/A variety transformer…it yields the exact same voltage at the Ring Pro. This is most likely due to the Pro’s power kit and its power regulation to the device. I would say the stock doorbell transformer supply should work just fine. If you need more power, the transformer is a $19 purchase and a simple install (if you can find it)…typically in basement, near out-of-reach areas (furnace/utility room) to keep out-of-reach from curious hands.
Now, some very small nuanced cons…
As a preface, because these are more subtle, they are by no means show-stoppers.
1) Advanced motion sensing. The Pro is more hypersensitive to motion, as it primarily detects motion by visible light changes in the environment. Small animals, light sources (bright car lights) and reflective surfaces (heavy snow storms, white snowy grounds) can all trip the motion sensing. Now, the Pro app does come equipped with more sophisticated range and sensitivity adjustments as well as a ‘People Only’ mode which, I’m assuming, uses more PIR than visible to detect larger heat signatures; however, I’ve read that the tech uses visible light to actually recognize head/neck/shoulder forms to distinguish human versus non-human. So, this being said, if you live in a heavier traffic section with more inorganic activity, you may need to be a bit more diligent in adjusting the sensitivity settings. However, it’s wired; so, it’s not like you’ll run out of juice.
2) Slight delay to mechanical chimes if owned. The Pro comes with a Power kit that is essentially a resistive circuit board that jumpers the transformer and doorbell terminals of your mechanical chime…this is to ensure that the Ring Pro device always receives enough power to maintain a consistent network connection. Because of this, when doorbell is depressed, there is a 2(ish) second delay of the mechanical chime. This is honestly so moot…if you own Alexa or other hub devices, said devices can prompt chime announcements. My wife and I have several Alexa devices strewn about the house, and the doorbell is announced throughout all of them.
3) Ring app may be too streamlined…hahaha. So, this may be the least important of these; hence it being last. But, it did frustrate me until I discovered a workaround once I understood what was happening. So, like I said, we have Alexa. She acts as hub to communicate with the Ring Pro device via its enabled app. I had routines (2 respective) programmed in Alexa for her to turn porch light on upon sensing motion (fine), and subsequently turn said light off from a second routine if motion was not detected for 5 minutes (fine…sometimes). The ‘sometimes’ was the frustrating part. So, I ultimately found that the light going on after motion detected was very reliable; the light turning off wasn’t. The light failed to turn off if the motion detected was immediately followed by a doorbell press. The reason (I think): The motion was sensed quickly enough by Alexa to enable the porch light on. The Ring app, most likely to conserve storage, compresses the motion and doorbell ring into one action – doorbell ring. So, when Alexa tries to determine when the light should go off, it references the Ring app history…the motion is not technically there; so, the light stays on because of the programmed confusion. My workaround…scheduled another routine in Alexa to turn off the porch light after waiting 5 minutes after doorbell is pressed. Anyway, that’s a super-techy-geeky, trivial con.
In closing, I love the darned thing! Long-winded, I know; but, this is a must-buy for those who want a smarter home with an easy-install security feature.

This is a great product with an excellent though somewhat fisheye image. Gives very clear images and allows you to set the area that will detect motion. The only downfall is you need to be near a Wi-Fi router in order to have a strong enough signal. Since my router is upstairs and there’s really no way to move my front door closer to it, I needed a upgrade to fix. If your home Wi-Fi is not near your front door you’ll need to get a range extender which is sold separately for an additional $50, or buy the kit that includes it as part of the package.
You will also need a $30 or $100 a year contract if you want to store the video images that the camera captures. Other than that the install was easy and the software is very functional.

This is one of our favorite smart home devices. It definitely gets the most regular usage. We have a home office. Sometimes we are on conference calls and unable to make it to the door. we also get lots of deliveries. This helps us to stay in contact with anyone that might be ringing the doorbell. We also have motion detector set on the front of our home. Therefore it notifies us when someone is crossing through the yard or approaching our front porch. Great device. Night vision is excellent. The audio quality is pretty good as well considering it really isn't made for audio. The app is extremely user-friendly. You also have the option to connect to the Community Network and you can submit footage for anyone on the network to look at should there be a security issue of concern for your neighbors. we weren't really aware of that feature until we got a notification from someone several blocks away that uploaded footage of suspicious activity around their vehicles.

After seeing this doorbell on practically everyone's home, I had to see what it was all about. With recent break-ins, I wanted to feel more secure in my home and have the ability to keep an eye on things when I was away. I have a narrow pane around my front door so this was the only Ring doorbell that would work for my home due to its narrow design. The doorbell came with all of the necessary tools and parts for installation, and the app was super useful when it came to the actual installation of the doorbell. The app walked me through step-by-step, and I was able to install in 15 minutes. The video is really clear and covers a wide angle. I can see live video whenever I want and am alerted whenever there is motion outside of my home. I also have the option to speak to visitors and playback the videos from the Ring app. So far so good!

I had been looking at purchasing a video doorbell for a while when I saw this one go on sale. I purchased it and couldn’t be happier. The picture quality and motion settings are phenomenal. You’re able to set the motion zones and I have mine set for about 3’ into my yard, it gives me an alert and allows recording to start before people are at my door. Night vision works pretty well and the microphone is good enough to hear my mail person curse as they are dropping packages at my door. You can choose to use your existing door chime and phone alerts or just the phone if you would like.
This is powered by your existing doorbell and that’s part of the reason I purchased this model. You need 16-24v and 30va, if your transformer is below this you will need to upgrade your transformer.
Very impressed with this Ring product and would definitely consider buying others in the future.

Purchased this 3 months ago and installed it myself. The installation (with instructions) was pretty straight forward in regards to installing one component where the doorbell chime is.
I had to drill new holes where our old doorbell was outside but it was easy enough. Got everything hooked up and running. I didn't look at all the features right away because I didn't have time but eventually adjusted the area where the doorbell activates motion alarms.
I recently purchased the angle wedges direct from Ring (BB doesn't sell them) and will paint them and install them as my doorbell is on the side of the door and i want to angle it a little more towards the street.
Great product and I have not had issues with the ring itself. Spectrum and our internet connection is a different story and has been the culprit when we had any issues viewing video feeds from the Ring Pro.

Video and sound quality is great! The install was a breeze as well. I would recommend watching the video guides.
Delivery drivers crack me up! I would watch them throw packages on our porch but not anymore. Trust me they keep their eyes out for these to avoid getting caught.
Nice to see them gently setting down the package, followed by a light knock and ring! What a difference!
