Wish we had known ahead of time about the yearly subscription fee. You don't need it for the ring to work. You do need it if you want to review the recordings. We cannot get it to link to Google hub.

Only problem is our crazy Chihuahua has figured out that when the motion is activated at the front door, that means “stranger danger” and he goes nuts. Great for actual strangers, but not good for friends and family.

For clarity, this model CAN integrate into an existing doorbell chime. Doesn't come with a masonry bit or a level like it shows in the install video so that was a slight inconvenience, but not enough to lose a star.

I would recommend hard wiring it to your original doorbell so you won’t have to charge it. My ring lasted about a month on a full charge, but there is a an adapter that you could connect it to a solar panel, so I’ll be purchasing that later on in Amazon.

We would love to provide you with information that will assist you in finding the best setup for your home’s environment.
It sounds like you are enjoying the features of the Ring Video Doorbell (2nd Generation), but there is some concern with the battery life. Batteries in Ring devices are designed to last for months between charges, but there are factors that could be causing an unexpected battery drain.
The weather can impact battery life. At temperatures below 40°F, lithium polymer batteries are less effective at holding a charge. When the temperature drops below 40°F, it may be necessary to charge your Ring product more often. Battery performance will return to normal once the weather warms up and remains above freezing.
Lots of activity can impact battery life. If your device is capturing an excessive number of events per day, you will likely need to recharge your battery sooner. Using Live View often can also drain your battery faster. To prevent excessive activity notifications, adjust your Motion Settings to a lower sensitivity, disable certain zones, change Motion Frequency to Regularly or Periodically, or adjust the direction of your Ring device so it doesn't detect as much motion.

What I notice is that it has dropped service a few times so I can't view video. RSSI is at 35 to 40 and internet signal is strong. I should have went with the 3 or 4 Ring but wanted to check this device out, my Eufy never had any issues! Maybe 5GHz connection is stronger but only 2GHz on this. Will wait for a sale and maybe upgrade later. I do like it and will be running the wire connection soon so it will keep the battery fully charged. Got this at a really good price on sale.

It may be an intermittent interruption in the wifi signal your Doorbell is receiving, which could be due to another device causing interference.
