Also, it’s an enormous hassle to have to unscrew the faceplate to remove battery each time it needs charging. Had I known these factors, would have selected another camera. Does normally have good picture quality and battery charge lasts as long as my Arlo battery does.

The Ring Video Doorbell (2nd Generation) is a battery-powered device that, when not connected to a continuous power supply, will need recharging. Batteries in Ring devices are designed to go months between charges under normal conditions. However, real battery life is dependent on a number of factors, such as local weather, the number of events captured, and the frequency of activation.
To help prevent needing to remove the device for recharging, you can connect it to an existing doorbell system, a solar charger for video doorbell (2nd Generation), or a transformer (8-24 VAC, 40VA max, 50/60Hz) for continuous charging. Visit our support center for more information.

Especially with children and well you can’t trust anyone these days. We got one for our apartment, we’re on the 1st floor. I will say at first I was going to mount them normally, but then I realized I didn’t want to have to deal with the holes from the screws, so I mounted the doorbell with command strips and it is STILL holding strong. Been up for well over a month now. So if you’re renting and don’t want to make holes and don’t want to buy the mount for it then command strips work. And the color is gorgeous :)

It makes me feel like I have more control over my safety and my apartment. I don't mind paying the Ring fee to keep recordings. I think it's definitely worth it for people who can't afford a fancy security system. I highly recommend it. It's pretty easy to install and set-up. I will definitely be buying one for my parents as well.
