Easy to install and I believe it has better camera quality. Paired it with a Ring Chime inside and customized the ring tone to our liking. Love it!

The range is great and quality is clear! 10/10 reccomend! Only thing I could say negative is that you need the other part that allows you to hear the doorbell from the inside.

We have included the steps here to set up your Ring Video Doorbell (2nd Gen.) in the Ring app:
1. Open the Ring app.
2. Tap the menu (☰).
3. Tap Set Up a Device.
4. Tap Video Doorbells.
5. Tap the blue I’m Ready to Scan button. Use your mobile device’s camera to scan the QR code on the device’s packaging. When a green square and a pop-up with your device image appear, the code has been recognized.
6. Enter the location where your Ring Wired Doorbell Plus is being set up. If this is your first time setting up a Ring device, the Ring app will ask you to use your phone’s location services to pinpoint your location.
7. Give your doorbell a device name. You can proceed with the device’s default name or give it a custom name. Connect your doorbell to Ring.
8. For iOS: Tap Join when the Ring app asks to join the Ring wifi network.
For Android: If your device does not automatically connect to the Ring wifi network, exit the Ring app. Go to your mobile device’s Settings. Tap wifi. Select either Ring- or Ring Setup. Once connected, close your settings app and return to the Ring app.
9. Tap Continue in the app when the blue light stops flashing.
10. Connect to your preferred wifi network.
11. Once your device automatically finalizes the setup process, it will be ready to use.

She loves it now she feels more secure and it was easy to set up. Paid the $30 for yearly subscription to be able to record and save. She loves will buy another ring security camera for sure to link them

Only problem was with install but it was a quick easy fix with a power drill. No complaints so far

It does lag a little but not like other models do. If you have a tall house that's old you'll wanna invest in the chime pro so it stays connected. Other then that wonderful product.

Next time, though, it will play normal so it’s not a blown speaker. Have adjusted sensitivity settings to motion, yet it misses motion at times. The built-in app always says it’s updating itself when you try to change tones, and the tones won’t stick or stay applied. Have tried for weeks, so I’m stuck using one default chime. I will say that the battery lasts forever, literally for weeks at a time. Still deciding on wether to keep or try different brand. Also, the app is supposed to save all your video recordings free for the first 30 days but upon going back it deletes certain snippets at random and for no reason so I have no way to reference those clips. I work in phones and computers, so I thought my electronic knowledge would make this a very simple, streamlined process but I seem to have a few gripes that aren’t related to user error. 3 out of 5.

We would love to get you in touch with a Ring specialist to look into this concern further together. Meanwhile, here is an article from our Help Center that may help address the concerns you are experiencing. This article will go over troubleshooting audio issues that may occur on your Ring device for various reasons: https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360050175212-Audio-and-Sound-Issues-Troubleshooting-Guide. In this guide, there is one specific step that will be important in identifying the source of the problem. If you have a Ring Protect Plan, or are within the 30-day trial, take note of the audio from the recorded video vs when speaking through Live View. While you have stated that there have been videos deleted, try to collect these examples through a recent Live View.
Videos should remain stored in the cloud for up to 60 days with an active Ring Protect Plan, or until the 30-day trial has expired. Account owners will be the only users capable of deleting videos, so we would like to look at this concern with you directly to report to the appropriate team for review.
