It installs in a breeze, wired or not, and it gets the job done. What I don't like, however, is you have to pay for a subscription service even to simply watch the previous 10 seconds! And they don't make it easy to get that subscription: when you click on a button in the app it simply takes you to a screen to remind you you don't have the service, but that you can't access it in the app. What the heck? If they want to get more people to subscribe they need to make it easier than that!

The Ring Protect Plan provides valuable capabilities, such as accessing paid features and the ability to save, download, and review footage captured by your Ring device. We can definitely provide you with more information regarding the concern mentioned in your review. With a Ring Protect Plan, you can save, review, and share video recordings from your Ring devices to your Ring account. Without a Ring Protect Plan, you can still view real-time video for Ring doorbells and cameras and answer doorbell notifications when they happen, but you don’t get video recordings of those events. There are three Ring Protect Plans available for home devices. We have listed them here.
Ring Protect Basic:
Video recording for one Ring doorbell or home camera. Activate digital features, including Rich Notifications, Smart Alerts and in-app arming and disarming for your Ring Alarm or Ring Alarm Pro device.
Ring Protect Plus (most advanced video features):
Video recording for all Ring doorbells and home cameras at one location. Activate digital features, including notifications and in-app arming/disarming, for your Ring Alarm or Ring Alarm Pro device.
Ring Protect Pro:
The ultimate Ring home security subscription. Unlock additional benefits for all your compatible home devices and the option to enroll in 24/7 Alarm Professional Monitoring for Ring Alarm or the Ring Alarm Pro device for one location.
You can subscribe to Ring Protect from your account on Ring.com.
From a web browser, log in to your Ring account.
Go to the Protect Plan tab and select Unsubscribed Devices. You’ll see a list of devices that aren’t covered by a plan.
Select Subscribe, then choose a plan and the devices you want coverage for.
If you selected multiple devices and choose Basic, then the price of Basic will be charged for each device. Ring Protect Plus and Pro cover all devices at a single location for one price.
Select a monthly or annual payment option.
Enter your payment information and check out.
Review your order and select Purchase.
You will receive a confirmation email for your subscription purchase.

Directions are minimal but that was the only hitch. Images are fine and easy to tweak.

I would definitely recommend this to anyone it’s a most have and can I tell you about the most cutest/funniest door messages it has for you to choose , at the moment I have one of the grinch because of chrismas it always makes my visitors smile.

One the video installation guide talked about the installation kit included in the package. Supposedly the kit included wire extenders. It did not so I had to call and work through a long stream of voice mail commands before I got a real person. Next we live in a townhouse that fronts a busy street. Every bus and person walking on the sidewalk resulted in an alert. We needed to get a friend to tell us how to avoid a ton of alerts.Installation was easy once we got the wire extenders but the set up was another exercise in technology problems without a set up manual to guide you through...the set up is all on line. It was easy once you were able to get in the system but again no printed manual to read.

Almost plug & play! Highly recommend. One thing that was a suprise, the ring doorbell will not work with your standard doorbell. You will need to purxhase a ring plug in doorbell, if you have a 2 story home, zi suggest one for downstairs and pne for upstairs, very hard to hear with just one !
