I just wish it came with the Chim that I needed to go in my house because I was using this to replace my doorbell on the live wire. I had to go a few days later and purchase the chim. I was able to install the chim myself. I am only giving it a 3 star because I had to purchase the chim and no one told me I needed to have it.

Owned for 2 months when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.very slow, thats why it is a lot cheaper compared to the new ones. reaction time to people is slow. sometimes detection is not working. whats the point of having this if the important security features are not working. Im sorry for this review, I want to make good comments but I tried everything, its not really working smooth for me. I returned it and bought a higher/ more expensive camera. Bulky too compared to the new ones.

The features and technology provided by the Ring Video Doorbell (2nd Generation) are incredibly valuable and help provide you with peace of mind about your home security. We are here to provide you with some information to resolve the motion detection issue you mentioned in your review.
It sounds like your device is not detecting the motion you are expecting it to. One of the biggest mistakes people make is mounting their Ring Doorbell too high to catch people's faces. If the Ring Doorbell is mounted at the correct height, approximately 48 inches above the ground, it will capture motion optimally.
Your Ring Doorbell sees the world through a network of PIR or "Passive Infrared" motion sensors. These are heat sensors that detect motion by monitoring heat within the detection area. Since people are hotter than the surrounding areas, when a person enters the detection area the heat measurements change. The motion sensors register this change as movement and send out an alert.
The motion sensors in your Ring Video Doorbell are designed to detect motion up to 155 degrees horizontally and from five to 25 feet outward from the fixture. They're also more sensitive to horizontal movement across the detection area than vertical. If you mount the Ring Doorbell too high, you're more likely to catch the heat of passing cars than the heat of incoming visitors.
