      Hi GhostyJoker.

Thank you for sharing your concerns with us.

We understand how vital it is for your internal chime kit to ding when someone presses the doorbell button on your Ring Video Doorbell (2nd Generation). Being notified of visitors at your door is an important feature of this device. We would love the opportunity to work with you to ensure we get your device working as intended.

It sounds like your Ring Video Doorbell (2nd Generation) is online and working but not properly triggering your internal chime kit. The Ring Video Doorbell (2nd Generation) is compatible with AC-powered door chimes operating between 8 and 24 volts AC, but is not compatible with wireless door chimes or any chime or intercom system using a DC transformer.

We recommend first checking that your home's chime kit is working on its own, without the Ring Video Doorbell attached. Once you have confirmed the chime kit is still working, we suggest checking that it is compatible with the Ring Video Doorbell (2nd Generation). Attached is a list of doorbell chimes we have tested and confirmed are compatible: https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360053138112-Ring-Video-Doorbell-2nd-Generation-Chime-Kit-Compatibility-List.

      Hello Berk,
We appreciate you reaching out to us by leaving a review. We fully understand the importance of having the motion detection work as intended. It is a valuable feature that is designed to notify you as to who may be near your home. Please know that it is a priority for us to be of assistance and find a resolution to your concern.
Based on your review, it seems that you are having trouble with your Ring Video Doorbell picking up correct motion. The Ring Doorbell sees the world is through a network of PIR or "Passive Infrared" motion sensors. These are heat sensors that detect motion by monitoring heat within the detection area. Since people are hotter than the surrounding areas, as a person enters the detection area, the heat measurements change. The motion sensors register this change as movement and send out an alert. If this is the case, we recommend you to adjust your current set motion zones. Motion Zones allow you to define a specific area that you want your Ring device to cover while ignoring everything outside that area. By selecting Motion Zones to cover only areas you want the Ring device to monitor, you can effectively monitor the area you want as well as reduce the number of “false positive” motion alert. Please see our help center article for more information: https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360041248971-Using-Motion-Zones-with-your-Ring-Video-Doorbell-2020-release-.

In addition, if you are having audio trouble with your Ring Video Doorbell, we recommend checking your mobile device to make sure that the external volume control is turned up to an adequate level to hear the person. Please see our help center article for more tips: https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360050175212-Audio-and-Sound-Issues-Troubleshooting-Guide.

At Ring, we understand it is essential to have your Ring Video Doorbell (2nd Gen.) online and working properly so you can keep your home secure. The features and technology provided by the Ring Video Doorbell (2nd Gen.) are incredibly valuable and help provide you with peace of mind about your home security. It sounds like your device is not performing as you expected. The Ring Video Doorbell (2nd Gen.) is designed to work with your home's wifi network and is compatible with b/g/n wifi networks operating on 2.4 GHz frequencies. If you're receiving a 'Setup did not complete' message and cannot finish setup, it could be due to one of these common causes of setup failures:

      * Your Ring device is too far from your wifi router. Ideally, your router should be within 20 feet of your Ring device.
      * There's a possible problem with your internet connection.
      * There's a possible issue related to your wifi modem or router.

      Hello 1HumbleOfferings,

We appreciate that you have placed value in owning a Ring device to secure your home. Ring understands the importance of having the Ring Video Doorbell 2020 work as intended. It is a valuable device that is designed to notify you as to who may be near your home. Please know that it is a priority for us to be of assistance and find a resolution to your concern.

The Ring Video Doorbell (2020 release) is the next generation of the original Ring Video Doorbell. In addition to new video features such as Near Zone functionality, the 2020 release Video Doorbell boasts 1080p video, improved night vision, improved audio quality and near motion zone detection.

After reading your review, it seems that your Ring Video Doorbell 2020 is having trouble staying connected to your home wifi. When this occurs, we recommend rebooting your wifi modem and router. Since your router and modem are usually the hardest working devices in your house, for optimal performance, you should reboot them about once a month. To reboot routers or modems, follow the instructions below:
Unplug your router or modem from its power supply (don’t just turn it off).
If your router and modem are separate, unplug both of them.
Wait at least 30 seconds, then plug them back in.
Wait for your internet to be restored.

Here is a helpful article which walks you through additional steps to take if the issue still persists for you after your modem/router reboot: https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/217240386-In-app-Setup-Failing-Repeatedly.
Additionally, if you have not already, please check out our Ring Community forum where other Ring users, like yourself, have an open discussion platform to share their experiences, as well as solutions to issues experienced: https://community.ring.com/.

      Hi JxRR.

Thank you for sharing your feedback with us.

We understand the importance of having all relevant information prior to purchasing your device. Being able to record videos your Ring Video Doorbell (2nd Generation) captures is a valuable feature provided through the optional Ring Protect Plan. We can definitely provide some additional information regarding the concern mentioned in your review.

It sounds like there is some confusion surrounding the paid and unpaid features of the Ring Video Doorbell (2nd Generation). Without any paid subscription, the Ring Video Doorbell (2nd Generation) allows you to view real-time video and answer doorbell notifications when they happen, but you don’t get video recordings of those events.

Ring does offer an optional Ring Protect Plan, starting at as little as $3.99 per month, per device. The optional subscription gives you access to paid features that allow you to save, review, and share video recordings from your Ring device to your Ring account.

      Hi AnkurS.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. We understand how important it is to have your Ring Video Doorbell (2nd Gen.) capture all the correct motion events. The Ring Video Doorbell (2nd Gen.) was designed to capture motions based on your specifications to help keep your home secure. We are here to provide you with some information to resolve the issue you mentioned in your review.

It sounds like the device is not performing as expected. It is important to ensure that you have the proper motion settings in place for your environment. This camera uses adjustable motion detection and runs on passive infrared sensors. The system identifies visitors via a moving heat signature and sends a notification to your smart device when one is detected. You can adjust three preset motion zones and their distances under the "Motion Settings" tab on the device's page in the Ring app. You can also increase the "Motion Sensitivity" under the "Motion Settings" tab. Additionally, you can choose how often the camera checks for movement in those predefined zones via the "Motion Frequency" setting. If you find that your camera is missing some motions, please set the motion frequency to "Frequently."

Accuracy in motion detection can also be improved by enabling the "Smart Alerts" feature for people only in your Ring app. To enable "Smart Alerts," please follow these steps:
Tap the menu (≡) on the top left.
      Tap "Devices."
Tap the device that you want to adjust.
      Tap "Motion Settings."
      Tap "Smart Alerts."
      Tap "Enable Feature."
      Tap "Continue."
Select the notification options that you want for "Person" and "Other Motion."
You'll see a video camera where you can select or de-select recording and a bell icon to represent alert notifications.
After you've adjusted your settings, tap "Done."

      Hi SharlettaB.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us.

We understand how important it is for your Ring Video Doorbell (2nd Generation) to function consistently and reliably. The features and technology provided by the Ring Video Doorbell (2nd Generation) are incredibly valuable and help provide you with peace of mind about your home security. We would love to assist you with this today to ensure your Ring device is working as intended.

It sounds like your device's battery may be draining quicker than expected due to a poor wifi signal. If your Ring device is receiving a poor signal from your wifi router, it uses battery when attempting to reconnect. We recommend checking that your router is not being blocked by walls or furniture.
