Ring doorbell camera

I have had the original Ring for years, transferred it between 2 homes, and was very happy with the reliability and performance. This Ring Gen 2 with 1080P is far superior both in picture quality, field of view, and audio quality. Considered the Ring Pro but specs are very similar and couldn’t see spending over twice as much for the slimmer form factor. Very happy with the purchase.

And Ring is the leader of the industry. Reliable, easy to install and use. I bought this for my mother's house - she will let just about anyone in her door and we are concerned for her safety. So we set up this doorbell, with my sister's phone having the app to receive alerts when anyone is around Mom's front door. That way, my sister is alerted and can run next door if needed.

That's a joke but works well in this area and give security to them that we know who's at the door or stopped end. Even our mail and package watch has assurance now.

But it does make me feel safe after my apartment got shot at three times it makes you see who's wondering outside to sometimes may surprise you haha be safe thank you ring

For example, there is no delay in notifications if someone walks by a couple times within a short span of time, so you can have multiple notifications for someone walking in and back out. Other than a few minor things I’m overall pleased with this camera.

We are happy to provide you with more information regarding the motion detection issue that you mentioned in your review. The system identifies visitors via a moving heat signature and sends a notification to your smart device when one is detected. If you do not wish to receive notifications for motion events, simply toggle off the "Motion Alerts" tab on the device's page in the Ring app. You can adjust three preset motion zones and their distances under the "Motion Settings" tab on the device's page in the Ring app. Additionally, you can choose how often the camera checks for movement in those predefined zones via the "Motion Frequency" setting. If you find that your camera is picking up too much motion, we recommend lowering the "Motion Sensitivity" under the "Motion Settings" tab. It is important to ensure that you have the proper motion settings in place for your environment. This also includes changing the "Motion Frequency" to "Regularly" or "Periodically" in the Ring app.

It makes me feel like I have more control over my safety and my apartment. I don't mind paying the Ring fee to keep recordings. I think it's definitely worth it for people who can't afford a fancy security system. I highly recommend it. It's pretty easy to install and set-up. I will definitely be buying one for my parents as well.
