I only wish it recorded longer when it detects movement because it only records very little. The only thing I did notice was that it didn’t record a time the delivery guy left my package which it worried me. Other than that it’s great and would definitely recommend!

This was a gift for my mother who just bought her own place. She loved ours and mentioned how nice it is to know who’s at her front door. I also got her the Amazon show to go work it so she could see who’s at her door. She is in love with this!! She’s very tech savvy and was able to set it up on her own. Ours is the older model where you have to take it apart and take out the battery to charge it. This on has a usb plug right in the bottom so you don’t even need to take it off the wall to charge it. I’m thinking about getting this new one for our house!!

Ring doorbell

The first one worked for about a year with no problem at all, then a random morning just stopped connecting to my internet. I spent an hour on the phone with ring, sent me a ring WiFi extender and said that would fix it. Nope….. since I already paid for another year of ring service I went and bought another ring doorbell….. Unfortunately this one connects and disconnects often and random. It’s not my wife because everything else hooked to it works perfect, and I have the extender that they said would fix the first one. After my ring service is done I plan on cancelling and trying other cameras. I almost feel like it had to be due to an update they did because for a year no problems then nothing but problems. When it’s connected it works good, the problem is it doesn’t stay connected for long.

The Ring Video Doorbell (2nd Gen.) is compatible with b/g/n wifi networks operating on 2.4 GHz frequencies. High-speed internet is recommended. If your Ring device is far from your wifi router, it may be experiencing connection issues.
Here are a few of the top reasons for poor connectivity:
Your Ring device may be too far from your WiFi router.
Your mobile device has a low signal or poor connection.
Your home wifi connection is poor (or your internet service provider is experiencing high traffic).
To learn more about your device's signal strength, follow these steps:
Open the Ring app.
Tap the menu (☰).
Tap “Devices.”
Select the ring device you would like to test.
Tap on the “Device Health” tile.
Scroll to “Signal Strength” under the “Network” section.
The green, amber, and red colors are indicators of your device connection. Green is good; red is poor.
Move your wifi router off the floor.
Walls, floors, and furniture can interfere with or weaken your router's wireless signal. Choose an elevated, central, open location for your wifi router.
