The motion detection is iffy. Once installed the device is very user friendly. I eventually turned off motion detection as it wasn't consistent and drained the battery too much. Overall though I am very happy with the purchase.

It is easy to install, just follow the booklet instructions already included or watch a how to video online and they will show you how to install it. The app is easy to navigate and I lile how you can share nearby emergency events with other ring users and stay connected to your neighborhoods news. It records pretty well and clear, it's motion detection is great the range of motion detection is good compared to other similar products. It gives me a notification every time someone passes bye our sidewalk which is about more than 15ft away from our main door. The only thing is that, i wish the battery be removed when charging and not having to take the whole thing out just charge. But then again, they do sale the ring with a detachable battery but it is dubble the price. If you don't mind having to take the whole thing out just charge, then this ring doorbell is for you. The price is not bad.

Only have small complain and is the screws that came with it are easy to bend.

I got this camera because a package had been stolen from our door step so I had to buy a camera as a deterrant. This has captured many things already on camera including suspicious people in our yard, and video of neighbors car being stolen (suspect captured on camera). Ring makes it easy to share the video on the neighbor's app so you can report it to the community as well as police case numbers. I highly recommend everyone have a Ring Doorbell camera asap.

The battery life is very good, once fully charged. Also, the setup didn't take long at all if you are just mounting it wireless.

It installs in a breeze, wired or not, and it gets the job done. What I don't like, however, is you have to pay for a subscription service even to simply watch the previous 10 seconds! And they don't make it easy to get that subscription: when you click on a button in the app it simply takes you to a screen to remind you you don't have the service, but that you can't access it in the app. What the heck? If they want to get more people to subscribe they need to make it easier than that!

The Ring Protect Plan provides valuable capabilities, such as accessing paid features and the ability to save, download, and review footage captured by your Ring device. We can definitely provide you with more information regarding the concern mentioned in your review. With a Ring Protect Plan, you can save, review, and share video recordings from your Ring devices to your Ring account. Without a Ring Protect Plan, you can still view real-time video for Ring doorbells and cameras and answer doorbell notifications when they happen, but you don’t get video recordings of those events. Go to the Protect Plan tab and select Unsubscribed Devices. You’ll see a list of devices that aren’t covered by a plan.
Select Subscribe, then choose a plan and the devices you want coverage for.
If you selected multiple devices and choose Basic, then the price of Basic will be charged for each device. Ring Protect Plus and Pro cover all devices at a single location for one price.

Overall, the product meets and exceeds the descriptions online as well as the ease of use and installation. I also bought the door clamp separately to attach this doorbell to the door itself.

Almost plug & play! Highly recommend. One thing that was a suprise, the ring doorbell will not work with your standard doorbell. You will need to purxhase a ring plug in doorbell, if you have a 2 story home, zi suggest one for downstairs and pne for upstairs, very hard to hear with just one !
