      Hello DavidC

Thank you for sharing your concern. If your Doorbell is not picking up motion correctly, I would recommend adjusting your Motion Settings to see if it helps. For your situation, I would recommend increasing your Motion Sensitivity and adjusting your Motion Zones. bit.ly/3OsynPk. Try also enabling Smart Alerts, or vice versa. bit.ly/3SlqLz5.

      Hello Ginny,

It is important to us here at Ring, that the features available to you on your new Video Doorbell Wired meet your needs and expectations. We really appreciate that you have placed value in owning one of our doorbells for your home security.

The Ring Video Doorbell Wired is a wired only doorbell, therefore, it does not have the option to power it via a battery. If you don't have an existing doorbell, this doorbell can also be powered by the Ring plug-in adapter or a transformer for power supply (10-24 VAC, 40VA max, 50/60Hz, or 24VDC, 0.5A, 12W). It's important to note, halogen or garden-lighting transformers are not compatible.

We have a vast line up of doorbells, many of which are battery powered and do not require hardwiring. To view a complete list of our doorbells and their features please visit the link below: https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/115004668746-Ring-Video-Doorbells-Product-Comparison

      Hello dogs2020,

Thank you for leaving a review. We understand how important it is to have your internal chime working properly, as it is used to notify you when someone is at the door. Rest assured that we are here to ensure that we can find a resolution for you today.

The Ring Doorbell Wired uses an included jumper cable to bypass your home’s internal chime kit, so it will not ring inside. If you’d like audio notifications inside your home, you’ll need to purchase a Ring Chime to hear them.
All of Ring’s other battery and hardwired doorbell models (Ring Doorbell Pro, Ring Doorbell Pro 2, Ring Doorbell (2020 Release), Ring Doorbell 3/3+, and Ring Doorbell 4) will work with in home chime kits and AC current doorbell transformers. Here is a full product comparison which details power requirements for each device: https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/115004668746-Ring-Video-Doorbells-Product-Comparison.

      Hello Bemojo,
Thank you for taking the time to share your Ring Video Doorbell Wired experience with us. You should be able to enjoy the peace of mind that the Ring Video Doorbell Wired is designed to add to your home security. We completely understand the relevance of having your device up and running, as this ensures you can access the camera to check on activity around your home anytime day or night. We’d love to provide you some tips to ensure your device is consistently connected to your home wifi network with a strong signal from your router.
If your Ring Video Doorbell wired is having trouble staying connected to your wifi, we recommend rebooting your wifi modem and router. Since your router and modem are usually the hardest working devices in your house, for optimal performance, you should reboot them about once a month. To reboot routers or modems, follow the instructions below:
Unplug your router or modem from its power supply (don’t just turn it off).
If your router and modem are separate, unplug both of them.
Wait at least 30 seconds, then plug them back in.
Wait for your internet to be restored.
Here is a helpful article which walks you though additional steps to take if the issue still persists for you after your modem/router reboot: https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/217240386-In-app-Setup-Failing-Repeatedly.
Additionally, if you have not already, please check out our Ring Community forum where other Ring users, like yourself, have an open discussion platform to share their experiences, as well as solutions to issues experienced: https://community.ring.com/. Thank you, Jamila with Ring Ring

      Hello OgKush,
The Video Doorbell Wired is a wired video doorbell that offers 1080p HD video with night vision and two-way audio with noise cancellation. Using Ring’s most affordable doorbell, you can check in on your front door anytime, from anywhere, and can see and speak to visitors at your door in real-time using your Ring app or Alexa-enabled device. With Video Doorbell Wired, you’ll always be connected to your home, so you can watch over your property and answer the door from anywhere.
This device must be hardwired to an existing doorbell system or transformer with 10-24 VAC, 40VA max, 50/60Hz for continuous charging. The Jumper Cable bypasses and disables your existing doorbell chime and must be installed before you install your Ring Doorbell. Can you confirm you’ve installed this included piece? Here are step by step instructions for physically installing your unit: https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360036047831-Physically-Installing-your-Ring-Video-Doorbell-Pro.You’ll be working with electrical wires during the install process. If you are uncomfortable or inexperienced in doing so, we recommend you consult with a qualified electrician.

      Hi AbeM.

Thank you for sharing your feedback.

We understand the importance of being notified of people at your door so that you never miss a visitor. The features offered by the Ring Video Doorbell Wired are an invaluable part of your home's security. We would love to provide you with additional information to ensure your device is working as intended.

It sounds like you would like to be notified inside your home when someone rings your doorbell. The Ring Video Doorbell Wired requires existing doorbell wiring for power supply, but does not sound your existing doorbell chime.

In order to hear notifications inside your home, you can connect your Ring Video Doorbell Wired to a Ring Chime or to your Alexa-enabled devices. The Ring Chime (2nd Generation) simply plugs into a wall socket and connects through the Ring app, so you'll be able to get real-time Ring device notifications anywhere in your home, even if you're not near your phone. To connect your Alexa devices, add Ring as a skill in your Alexa app. Once this is accomplished, you’ll be able to use a variety of Alexa-enabled devices with your Ring devices.

      Hi Jfranky.

Thank you for sharing your experience with us.

We understand how important it is for you to receive a product that is in working order when it arrives. The security features and technology provided by the Ring Video Doorbell Wired are incredibly valuable to your peace of mind, and receiving a non-working device is not the experience we want any of our neighbors to encounter during the purchase process. We would love the opportunity to work with you to ensure your device is functioning as intended.

It sounds like your Ring Video Doorbell Wired did not set up as intended. Your Video Doorbell Wired is designed to replace an existing doorbell button and gets its power from the doorbell system. It is important to be sure your existing doorbell is working prior to installing the Ring Video Doorbell Wired. To check this, ring your existing doorbell and listen for the chime. If it rings, we know your existing doorbell system is working.

If your existing doorbell system isn't working, you can use our Plug-in Adapter (2nd Generation) to power your Ring Video Doorbell Wired directly. The Ring Video Doorbell Wired is not compatible with the Plug-in Adapter (1st Generation).
