Good option for smart doorbell

I got the chime but it doesn't make much difference becuase the notifications show up on the phone. Pretty good Image quality during the day, decent during night time. Though the speaker is small so you have to talk loud for the person outside to understand you. Other than that, it's basically plug and play. You WILL need to buy ring subscription because the app is worthless without it. It's $3 per month so not expensive

With so much going on, i had to purchase to make sure my family are ok. Too many stolen packages in my area and late/null deliveries. Setup was easy. Even though it's wired just follow the instructions or watch a video. Definitely recommend for peace of mind.

We are here today to provide you with education to assist you in finding the best solution for your home’s environment.
It sounds like you experienced some connection issues with the device. Usually, devices losing connection repeatedly is related to poor wifi connectivity caused by signal fluctuations, channel congestion, or data loss.
To determine whether the problem is caused by poor upload speed, run a speed test to determine if your network can support Ring devices. In addition to ensuring that you have sufficient wifi speeds, you will also want to check the signal strength of your device. Your Ring device will adjust video quality based on your internet speed, but needs at least 1 Mbps to work and 2 Mbps is recommended for optimal performance.
A poor wifi signal can cause connectivity with your Ring device to be unreliable. Check the Device Health section of your Ring application to ensure the device’s RSSI is within an acceptable range. The recommended range for optimal performance is 0 to -60 for the RSSI.
If your networking equipment hasn’t been power cycled in a while, try unplugging it for 30 seconds and plugging it back in. Wireless networks utilize different channels for communication. In the United States, the 2.4 GHz band uses channels 1-11 and the 5 GHz band uses channels 36-165. In some cases, setting up your Ring device(s) can fail due to wireless interference or congestion.

Waste of money

And the app functions are cumbersome and not intuitive. Notifications work fine at least. Installation by Geek squad was stellar. Wish I’d invested more in a better camera.

The issue you're experiencing with your Ring Video Doorbell Wired not showing the first six feet from the door is likely related to positioning. The Ring Video Doorbell Wired should be mounted at a height of approximately 48 inches (1.22 meters) from the ground for optimal motion detection. The camera on your Ring doorbell has a wide field of view and does not need to be mounted higher or lower to view approaching visitors. If mounted too high or too low, you may encounter inconsistent motion detection or undesired motion events.
If your home has siding or if your door is elevated with stairs leading up to it, you might need to adjust the angle of your doorbell using a Wedge Kit. This accessory can help angle your doorbell properly to better capture the area directly in front of your door rather than pointing too far outward or upward.

Just be sure you have the appropriate transformer to power this as it will not run off of your normal doorbell transformer.

The only negative is that you can’t use the video record unless you pay a monthly charge which is bs, you should at least get 2 years free with the amount that the ring product costs. Overall happy
