Good but not good

So I bought this… not very clear and sensor not very reliable you can see when someone knocks at your door but not good at catching strangers passing by. Should’ve bought the higher priced one.

The Ring Video Doorbell Wired was designed to capture motions based on your specifications to help keep your home secure. We are here to provide you with some information to resolve the issue you mentioned in your review.
It sounds like the device is not performing as expected in regards to person detection. It is important to ensure that you have the proper motion settings in place for your environment. This camera uses adjustable motion detection and runs on passive infrared sensors. The system identifies visitors via a moving heat signature and sends a notification to your smart device when one is detected. You can adjust three preset motion zones and their distances under the "Motion Settings" tab on the device's page in the Ring app. Additionally, you can choose how often the camera checks for movement in those predefined zones via the "Motion Frequency" setting. If you find that your camera is missing some motions, please set the motion frequency to "Frequently."
Accuracy in motion detection can also be improved by enabling the "Smart Alerts" feature for people only in your Ring app. To enable "Smart Alerts," please follow these steps:
Tap the menu (≡) on the top left.
Tap "Devices."
Tap the device that you want to adjust.
Tap "Motion Settings."
Tap "Smart Alerts."
Tap "Enable Feature."
Tap "Continue."
Select the notification options that you want for "Person" and "Other Motion."
You'll see a video camera where you can select or de-select recording and a bell icon to represent alert notifications.
After you've adjusted your settings, tap "Done."

You do have to spend at least $30 for a subscription, that’s not bad compared to others. The chime is great also just plug in and set up and your done.

You can adjust your alerts and field of view, access your camera when you are away from home, etc. Would recommend this doorbell for people who want security without breaking the bank.

We recently moved into our new home and get a lot of packages. We love our ring! The chime is also easy to hear throughout the house. The video is very clear and it picks up during night very well.

Previous owner of the ring system in our sold house and worked great. So far works just as well as our other system and very happy.

Bell works with hardwired power supply or existing doorbell wiring. Compared to other ring Doorbells this is a great unit and I can hardly tell the difference

I have several Ring products and they all work as advertised. Excellent to use for front door applications so you can see when packages are delivered or when someone is at your front door.

Convinced husband to go with a Wi-Fi smart doorbell. Once again, all we both said was "what took us so long" to get with the 21st century?" Since we are Best Buy TotalTech members, a Geek set up the system for us. This was a HUGE help. Can't say enough about the TotalTech program and all the advantages of purchasing it if you plan on buying lots of items from Best Buy (which we have recently done). Being seniors, safety is important. Nice to be able to see when someone is at the door. Highly recommend the RING doorbell with all its excellent features.

I shut off the power to my existing doorbell, unscrewed the old one and replaced it with this awesome one! Video quality is great!

It sounds like you are experiencing an issue with the setup of the device. There are a few things that may help get your doorbell up and running smoothly. The Ring Video Doorbell Wired must be hardwired to an existing doorbell system or transformer with 10–24 VAC, 40 VA maximum, and 50/60 Hz for continuous charging. Insufficient or incompatible power supply is one of the most common causes of camera malfunction during setup. It is also worth noting that this model connects exclusively via 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi, so if your network is configured to broadcast only on the 5 GHz band, or if Band Steering is enabled, the device will be unable to establish a connection. We recommend verifying your router settings to ensure the 2.4 GHz band is available. Additionally, performing a factory reset by pressing and holding the setup button on the device for 20 seconds, then reattempting the setup through the Ring app, may also help resolve the issue.
