Only use if your house was built sooner than 1990

Just having two wires come out, does not constitute the ability to hook this device up.

Posted .Hi DavidR. I know it can be confusing to install a new device, but I'd be happy to point you in the right direction. The Video Doorbell Wired is compatible with doorbell systems supplying 10-24 volts AC, at 50 or 60 Hz, 20-40 VA max. It's important to note that the Doorbell Wired will not ring your internal chime kit. The provided Ring Chime can be connected to your Video Doorbell Wired in the Ring app so you can hear audible alerts in your home. Wasn't happy having to purchase a wedge from Amazon to accommodate the install. Best buy should sell them since they sell the door bell. If it wasn't for that, I would have gave it 5 stars.

It sounds like your devices are failing to connect to your home wifi network. If you're having a problem setting up your Ring app, it's possible you are experiencing a problem with your internet connection. This can take two forms:
Your internet is not communicating with the Ring app at all.
Your internet connection is too slow to provide a decent signal to your Ring device.
If either your upload or download speeds are below 2 Mbps, your internet may be too slow to support your Ring device. If you've verified that your internet is working fine and setting up your Ring product still fails, visit our support center for other possible causes of in-app setup issues.

Very disappointing product.

The doorbell continued to fail after attempting to install updates, which resulted in no connectivity. Only hard restarts would temporarily fix it. Ring Support was helpful but it took way too long to get a human on the phone to assist. We eventually gave up on Ring and moved on to Nest.

It sounds like your device is having trouble installing updates. Firmware is a software program embedded into your Ring device that keeps it functioning properly. Firmware is automatically updated in Ring devices. The front button on your Ring Video Doorbell Wired will flash white until the update is finished. Do not press the setup button, the front button, or disconnect your device from power while it is updating. When the light on your device stops flashing, the update is complete, and your device is ready to use. It's important that your device have a strong wifi signal to update and function properly. Visit our support center for additional information.

It has proven very useful, especially with all the "porch pirates" around. I know at least 2 people who caught a thief in action. I can also see any action going on with at least 5 neighbor's homes. I like being able to converse with anyone who rings the doorbell, Also, the software allows me to set the chime to sound in several modes and at the moment I have it set with barking dogs!!!

Ring has really improved the video quality it’s recording over the last year. I’m extremely happy with this purchase. I replaced a Eufy 2k Wired doorbell with this one and haven’t looked back.
