It is easy to install and it records all movements detected in front of the doorbell. You can connect it to your smartphone so that you can see what is happening at your front door at all times.

Very Disappointed
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.When I installed the device, there was no information regarding how it would affect the internal chime already in our house. I followed all of the installation instructions exactly and the installation itself was easy and straightforward. However, after it was installed, the internal chime no longer works and I hear nothing in the house to indicate that the bell has been rung. I then called the Ring help line and spent over 45 minutes on the phone. The technician was not able to tell me why the chime no longer worked nor could she fix the problem. Her final suggestion was that I obtain a Chime Pro which Ring would send me for free. If I had known that my internal chime would be disabled (bypassed) by the new one, I would not have purchased it.

It sounds like your device is not performing as you expected. The Ring Video Doorbell Wired (2021 release) requires existing doorbell wiring for its power supply, but it does not sound your existing doorbell chime. To hear audio alerts in your home, pair it with a Ring Chime or compatible Alexa device (each sold separately).

Upgrade your doorbell for safety

This Ring doorbell was easy to setup and install. The video clarity is good and the ability to two way communicate is a great feature. Real time alerts is excellent and what enables you to interact and deter thieves if necessary. Also, nice to be able to have the video clip to share if needed.

The Ring Chime and Chime Pro can play audio alerts when motion is detected on your Ring device or when someone presses your Ring doorbell. Ring Chime was designed with the ability to customize the type of sound you hear when an event takes place.
Your Chime or Chime Pro can play different sounds for motion and ring events. We recommend following these steps to choose the best sound for Chime alerts for your environment:
Open the Ring app.
Tap the top menu (☰) and then Devices.
Select your Chime or Chime Pro device.
Tap Audio Settings, then Chime Tones.
You'll see two tabs at the top of the screen: rings and motions.
Tap Rings and select your favorite sound. Chime will play when someone presses your doorbell. You'll hear an audio sample when chosen. You can also adjust the volume with the slider.
Tap Motions and select your favorite sound. Chime will play when motion is detected on your Ring doorbells and cameras. You can also adjust the volume with the slider.

Suddenly about Oct. 08, 2022, the Ring doorbell unit stopped working, no power. I checked all wire/circuit, transformer and they were working well. I called the Ring support and went through all diagnostic steps, it still did not work. The transformer is 16v and the Ring doorbell unit light is lit up. Only thing I can think of why it is not working is the Ring doorbell hardware itseft. I hate to buy another Ring doorbell since it worked for 18 months only. Ring warranty is only 12 months! Things will break over time but I did not expect it only 18 months. I am so disappointed.

All our devices do come with a limited one-year warranty, in which Ring will repair or replace any Ring products that malfunction due to defective parts or workmanship, at no charge to you. There is also an extended warranty available through our Ring Protect Plus Plan option. For extended warranty coverage to apply to your Ring device, the device must be within its original warranty period when you subscribe to Ring Protect Plus. Once the original warranty expires, the device will be covered under Ring protect Plus until you discontinue your subscription. Non-Ring and other third-party devices are not eligible for the extended warranty.
