It’s a very good security measure. I was away from home yesterday and it came up on my cell phone. I answered the door and declined the service from the person at my door. Glad I did. He looked suspect.

I love that you can see and talk to people when you're not home. Once you wire it to your old doorbell you will need the chime! You won't have your old doorbell chime anymore. The other draw back but not big is you have to pay a monthly $4 fee every month if you want the videos saved. We loved it so much we bought our son two for his house. He has the wireless ones. The batteries last a long time in those.

We were trying to replace the ordinary doorbell chime that broke with this and it doesn't work without one so that was an extra expense. You could hook it up directly but then you need an outlet. It's working fine and is a good enough product. Price was the same everywhere so that wasn't a deciding factor.

She basically speak through when I’m leaving home and coming home. She like a Secuirty that lives far away but if anything happens she will have great details. She can see my entire front yard and my car. She can see anyone that passes my door. I live in a duplex. I’m thankful she can see it. I also have another family member hook into my account and they does the same thing especially when you’re in another state alone. 10plus star. One thing I want to learn how to make it record all day. Maybe because I have it at motion detector.

The chime that comes with it is not loud enough to travel to the next floor of the house....now I have to buy a 2nd chime.

Being able to rely on the alerts is an essential feature of the Ring Chime. We can definitely assist you with this today, and we are confident we can find the correct settings for your home’s environment.
It sounds like your device is not performing as you expected. The Ring Video Doorbell Wired requires existing doorbell wiring for its power supply, but it does not sound your existing doorbell chime. To hear audio alerts in your home, pair it with a Ring Chime or any Alexa-enabled device, which can also serve as a doorbell alert speaker.
Ring Chime was designed with the ability to customize the type of sound and the volume you hear when an event takes place. We recommend following these steps to adjust the volume on your Ring Chime.
Tap on the menu (☰).
Tap Devices.
Select your Chime.
Tap Audio Settings.
Tap Chime Tones.
Adjust the volume sliders under Rings and Motion.
