The chime that comes with it is not loud enough to travel to the next floor of the house....now I have to buy a 2nd chime.

Being able to rely on the alerts is an essential feature of the Ring Chime. We can definitely assist you with this today, and we are confident we can find the correct settings for your home’s environment.
It sounds like your device is not performing as you expected. The Ring Video Doorbell Wired requires existing doorbell wiring for its power supply, but it does not sound your existing doorbell chime. To hear audio alerts in your home, pair it with a Ring Chime or any Alexa-enabled device, which can also serve as a doorbell alert speaker.
Ring Chime was designed with the ability to customize the type of sound and the volume you hear when an event takes place. We recommend following these steps to adjust the volume on your Ring Chime.
Tap on the menu (☰).
Tap Devices.
Select your Chime.
Tap Audio Settings.
Tap Chime Tones.
Adjust the volume sliders under Rings and Motion.

I decided to get this wired unit because the price was much better than some of the others. Being an Amazon device did not really play into the decision since so don’t use the Alexa options in anything else. The camera has good image quality and has been very handy. The monthly fee is only $3 so that’s a plus. It has already helped with a delivery issue. The software is easy to use.

It was simple to install with an existing chime and doorbell. The quality is great. Don’t forget you will have a monthly fee if you want to use their cloud storage.

I decided it would not live up to what it does. I cannot be more impressed. Buy the lower model like I did, it works great. Captures everything. If you have some inside cameras from another company, this is a cheap way to add an external camera to your front door. I love that I have history of who is at the front door. Best of all, I can see everything from my phone. The phone app is exceptional, and fast and easy.

Not very practical!

So far I’m loving it! You do have to purchase a subscription to go back and view camera footage but super affordable it’s $3/month.
