This really rings my bell!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love this device! It was easy to install to replace my existing hard wired doorbell. The app for iPhone is easy to use and I've shared access with my other family members. It has great range of view and very clear video. The voice communications work great. I do wish the sensitivity adjustments had more options, so passing trucks and buses don't set it off...but this is not a big deal. I also wish the additional cameras were a bit lower cost, as I'd like to add at least 1 or 2 more to get coverage all around my house. Highly recommend this product...and purchasing thru BestBuy was a great experience. Delivery was fast...and free!

Love the video doorbell
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Easy to install and much cheaper then extending our existing chime to the basement and backyard. Love the feature of the video and that I can see and talk to whoever is at the door even if I’m not home. It’s so nice to see when my kids are getting home from school.

Great product, and more useful than expected.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.A very easy item to install and setup provided you have a good wireless speed. Make sure you have enough space to place the mount, otherwise you might want to get the slimmer ring model. Install took no more than 10 minutes once you got it positioned where you want it to go, and the setup for the app was a breeze. Camera quality is better than expected especially for night time recording. I like the proximity capability that picks up motion near your front door and starts recording just in case. Of course seeing whose at your door when you're not there is the purpose of the item, and for that it does the job perfectly.

Good Solid Build, Needs quality UPload speeds.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'd heard of the RING devices from TWIT.TV and Leo LaPorte talking about them. Wanted some security at the radio station where I work, so we installed the original RING doorbell system. Since I knew our wifi was going to be weak going through a few concrete walls, we also installed the RING brand wifi repeater/Inside chime. Results are pretty good, and would be better if Charter cable didn't favor new clients over old and would offer us an affordable business alternative to our outdated 60/down-3/up speeds in this area. The doorbell fights for internet bandwidth because the UPLOAD that we have can be congested with other business devices. That having been said, the camera is wonderful! The wide-angle view is good, color rendition is nice, and night vision is good, too. We chose to subscribe to the cloud service allowing recordings to be kept of coming and going. Many times due to the limited bandwidth I cannot activate "live" but can go to the cloud recording and see who was there right away. We've never had difficulty with the audio communication through the doorbell, either. It surprises many people who don't expect to hear a voice answer when they ring. The build is good! The battery life was ok, but fights the cold in the winter, so we opted for a 3rd party power supply designed for the RING, and now it's operated from doorbell-like power which lights the circle on the device at night, too. Our RING is mounted in a plastic utility box adapted to our siding and secured quite nicely as shown. Have no fear about trying this brand's devices. We're quite satisfied, and even put the app on an HD fire tablet from Amazon, after side-loading the Google Services on to it. Be patient when doing setup, and you'll be fine. The app walks you through the procedure, but if you're using an extender chime as we are, it takes a bit longer, and the chime's blue indicator of connection is so dim that you don't see it in normal light. Trust the app, not your eyes on that one. All in all, good products, well made, apps are regularly updated, and a nice secure feeling having the RING doorbell watching the foot traffic at a home, or a business.

Good for peace of mind
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We have had our Ring for about two weeks now. I am still new at using it. The installation was easy, and the app connects nicely. The only thing I have noticed is that it doesn’t record every motion it sees. It has a bit of a lag.

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Easy and quick installation. Great video footage during the day and night with sound. Great product
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Easy to install, work as intended, except for for the fact that it may be too sensitive sometimes.if your house is close to and on higher elevation to the road, it will pick up movin traffic sometimes. Even at lower sensitivity.

Good product for basic use.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Device works well and is easy to install. There is a bit of a delay in the motion sensor, but probably to be expected with this basic model. Subscription requirement to save videos was not easy to find; not on box... surprise!

Great Product
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Works great! Easy to setup. My girlfriend and I were trying to figure out what to get since we don't have a peep hole in our front door. We saw that some of our friends had purchased this and loved it. Its cool that you get notifications on when someone is close to the door and you can view the video and be able to talk to them. We haven't tinkered with it all the way, but we were told that you can adjust the sensor from 5ft to 30ft to notify you when someone is approaching.

Good gadget, great support
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love this thing. Great quality video and a great choice if you have a media room and can't hear your normal doorbell. Having a problem getting the dong in the ding-dong of the old bell, which this product can still ring. But customer support has been great in helping me sort this out. I've preordered their remote chimes anyway so I can place the anywhere I want, like my media room. It would be nice if I can just trigger the camera on manually, or see the video archive online, but I'm happy with the motion sensor or the button-press, triggering the video recording and allowing me to answer and see who's at the door that way.

Works great, easy to install
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Ring doorbell was easy to install and works as advertised. Immediately after setup, was able to view motion and doorbell rings. Also, amazing technology to interact with someone at the door via the app. My only regret is that I didn’t buy sooner!

Ring Smart Video Doorbell
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a great product. Easy to install and great capabilities. The Video doorbell can detect anyone who is at the door and I can talk to the person whether friendly or unfriendly. This should discourage criminal activity.

Very Easy Setup
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is fantastic! There's a whole kit in the purchase. You don't need any power tools if you're installing in wood. BUT....the company sends you a drill bit for concrete or other hard material. There's even a screwdriver and all the screws you need. I watched the videos and they walk you through every step needed to install this amazing camera. It did take a long time to charge the battery but that might have been my connection. You seriously need to buy this product AND pay for the service. I felt so much safer the night after I installed my Ring.

Easy to install and use
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Doorbell was simple to install using my existing doorbell wiring. We were able to connect using our iPhones and laptop (Windows10). Everything is pretty much flawless except for motion detection which is why I deducted one star from my overall rating. It seems to be impossible to limit the motion detector range although the app indicates you are doing so...I've got ours set to minimum (about 5') and it still consistently picks up traffic on the street in front of the house (about 35' from the doorbell at it's nearest point but it picks up traffic on the far side of the street also). I have the sensitivity set to low but still get alert every time a car passes by. I want to disable but my wife insists she'd rather have it than not.

My experience was okay... but you'll love yours.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've heard a lot of hype around the Ring video doorbell. Needless to say, I was excited to try it out. Let's start with the positives. Being able to get notifications on your phone when someone rings your doorbell or when there is motion detected by the camera is awesome. This way, you can always be home, even when you aren't. The notifications for the doorbell presses have been spot on; I haven't missed a single one. The doorbell also has a live view mode, which lets you take a peek through the camera at any time you like. You can look through the doorbell without someone ringing it and without motion triggering it. This feature didn't work when I first installed it, but a quick doorbell press fixed it and it has been working flawlessly since. This doorbell is definitely not without flaws, however. The motion detection is great. Too great. The doorbell is really good at finding motion. You can adjust its "scanning zone" through the app, which lets you pick certain pie slice-shaped zones that you can scan within if you don't like the default radial distance control. The problem is that no matter how hard I try to turn the motion distance all the way down to the 5 foot minimum, the doorbell STILL pulls cars from the street, which is more than 30 feet away, and sends me annoying and random motion alerts about them. I obviously don't want to turn off the feature entirely; it is a key selling point to the product and it's still nice to be able to see that the mailman has just dropped the mail off for the day or if a delivery truck is pulling up. It just drives me insane that I keep getting these useless motion event alerts. I will be contacting Ring Support about this; it could be totally possible that I just have a bad unit. In addition, I have had a really annoying issue with the night vision LEDs. Again, they work superbly. They are so bright, I can't even see the faces of people who ring the doorbell when it is dark out. I don't know if this is unique to my home, but I strongly caution anyone who is looking to replace their existing doorbell against putting Ring in the same position if you have any shiny objects nearby. For me, my metal mailbox is directly below and to the right of the doorbell, and unfortunately the night vision LEDs reflect straight off of the side of it, creating an overexposure that renders all night time video useless. I've tried calling Ring Support and they have no way to turn off or dim each of the two set of LEDs, of which there is one on each side of the camera on the front of the doorbell. This is super annoying since I can't turn one set off either; that'd completely solve my problem. Instead, I will be taping over the left side of my doorbell because my current mailbox is working just fine and I don't feel the need to replace it. Ring Support suggested that I reposition the doorbell, but I think that's silly because I've already drilled holes through the wall to hardwire the doorbell to the house. It's not like I should have to hang out for several hours during installation to check if night vision works right. All I'm asking for is control over the night vision LEDs through the app - simple. My last gripe about the Ring doesn't affect me directly but is one that should be noted. If you go with the wireless install, you'll obviously be charging the doorbell once in a while. The charging time for the doorbell, however, is outrageous. Ring claims it can take from 5-12 hours to charge the doorbell, depending on what power source you are using (a 500mA USB port on a general computer being the slowest and a 2A wall charger being recommended for the quickest charging process by Ring). I can personally confirm that they are correct since my unit came discharged. I don't know why this thing takes so long to charge. I could charge my huge iPad in that amount of time. The main concern I have is that because the charging process can take so long, your doorbell will be out of commission for hours. This means that, for one, you might get someone at your door that you could miss, and for two, that you could possibly miss the ability to see any motion alerts or possible security threats, which, in my opinion, breaks a key selling point for the Ring doorbell. It's also important to not let the doorbell fully discharge if you are using the wireless option, since Ring says that you might have to completely set it up all over again if it does, which is extremely puzzling to me. It's also important to note that wired installation users don't have to worry about issues related to charging; the doorbell will obviously be powered by the house and the battery will be charged using those wires also. One last note - if you are looking for a Ring doorbell that will specifically work with Apple HomeKit (i.e. controlling the doorbell through the Home app on iOS 10) do not buy this version of the Ring doorbell. You will have to buy the Ring Video Doorbell Pro, which has the necessary security hardware to support the home automation standard. Other third-party integrations through services like Lockitron and Kwikset Kevo through Ring+ and the all-encompassing IFTTT automation service will work on both doorbells. I know it sounds like I had very little to love about this doorbell. I definitely have my gripes with it, but I will not remove my recommendation for it just for those gripes. So many other people have been happy with their Ring doorbells that I wonder if mine is just defective. Regardless, I see serious value in installing one of these to improve the security of your home and to add convenience to your home. And with the Ring Neighborhoods service, the Nextdoor social network, and HD video recordings from the doorbell itself, the safety and security of your neighborhood and the people living in it can be greatly improved. This device is a fantastic first step into the smart home world, and with its ease of use, I highly recommend Ring for people to purchase.
