Read the reviews on this item and thought I would give it a try. It worked great. Installation was relatively easy. My unit mounted on brick and was a bit difficult since brick is uneven. Once I tried to make it relatively level, it went smoothly. Software installation was easy. Wifi hookup went well. It may be a problem if you have weak Wifi service though. I can now see who is at my front door without opening it. If I have good wifi service, I can remotely answer my door no matter where I am located. I love the fact that they can save video from a cloud based server. It's $30 a year and worth it if you have a problem.

Very easy to install and setup. Would recommend hard wiring as opposed to using rechargeable battery. So far it works as described. A inexpensive alternative to a good security system.

This is a fantastic product. I have been wanting one for some time now and our neighborhood is known to have package theft around the holidays. My husband installed this yesterday and it was a total breeze, which has not been the case with most tech products due to our 1960's house. I was worried based on other things we've tried to install but this simply took a few minutes and we were thrilled that it did end up working with our existing ringer so no chime extender needed! The picture quality is pretty great and the view/range it can detect is unbeatable. I am really happy with this product and feel safer just knowing we have something to rely on.

This is definitely worth the money! Simple to install and not very expensive. The only issue we ran into is that we have 5 inch vinyl siding and we had to purchase a mounting block.

This thing is amazing. It works as advertised in my case. The ability to know who even approaches your door is great security. Picture mostly clear. Sometimes not perfect but overall I am happy with it.

Installs very easily. Comes with it's own screw driver and mini to USB cable for setup. I used rope caulk to further waterproof the perimeter to our stucco wall. There is a delay of about 3 sec from door chime till phone alert, and another delay of about 5 sec before video pops up to view and answer. But that is likely due to the placement of our router upstairs in our concrete home. Planning to move it by the door soon where our office is going to be. Still having tons of fun with this, especially when we are away. We know when deliveries come, then ask the neighbors to grab them until we return. We had a blast scaring trick or treaters thru the intercom too while we were miles away at a party.

This product was sold to me by an associate with very little research done but I am very happy with the purchase. Cloud storage only costs 30/year and gives you motion alarms as well as when someone pushes it. This is great when you have children or a dog that barks when people knock. The button goes straight to your cell phones and allows you to see who is there and even speak to them. Fantastic. On reason I give it a 4 is because the battery life is lacking and is annoying to take off to charge.

The Ring is working well for us. It lets us see who is at the door, most usefully when we are out. We can even talk to them, although I only do that with people I know, as I don't want to have to tell strangers that no one is home. The Ring also does motion detection, but I'm still tuning that as we get false positives. You can tell the ring how far to look for motion and in which directions, though, so this is all good. Setup was pretty easy, just drilling a few holes and screwing in the unit. It is locked in with screws that take a special provided tool, but if someone does steal the unit Ring will replace it for free.

For the price I paid for this V1 Ring doorbell I am very pleasantly surprised. I was able to get 3 of these for the price of one competitor camera. I set the first one up at the front door, and it's done exactly what I wanted it to since then. The motion detector is great, I know when packages arrive. I have used it to talk to the UPS delivery people and the two way talk is up to par. The motion can be a little sensitive at times and I it seems like certain noises cause it to trigger. If it wasn't fro that I would have given it 5 stars. Overall very satisfied for the price.

I have used this doorbell on my home for a few months before trying a Nest Hello. This review will be a comparison between the two. The installation on the units was easier with the Ring but simple enough for both. The Nest mounted easier as the holes needed matched up to my el-cheapo doorbell that I took off. The Ring required me to drill an additional hole into my brick. Not a deal breaker but just a point of info. The Nest seems to alert me to someone ringing the doorbell about 10 seconds sooner than the Ring. Believe me -- ten seconds is a lifetime to someone standing at the front door waiting. Both work well though comparing video and sound quality to each other. I may give the Ring a slight edge. I have had no wifi disconnect issues with either unit. It really just boils down to what you want. If Ring is the archetecture you are going to go with (( cameras, floodlights etc.)) then do do. If you already have a Nest thermostat and or other Nest Cameras the Nest app integrated all these into one single point of view and is most definitely the way to go. I also LOVE the fact that Nest allows you a 5 day, 10 day, or 30 day package for saving recordings 24/7 -- Which i use and at the current costs it would be worth twice the price. Bottom line -- either is a worthy competetior and worthy of your money.

I purchased this product a few weeks ago. It was on sale at Best Buy and as an added incentive, Best Buy offered the Echo Dot for free with the purchase. If you have the proper tools, Ring is easy to install. It works as advertised. It’s easy to use. My main complaint is the quality of the video. My home has a porch that has a roof that runs the full length of the house. The roof provides adequate shade, and it allows you refuge from the rain while making entry into the home. Therefore, the Ring doorbell is situated in the shade, and therein lies the problem. On sunny days, the Ring video is not very clear, due to the camera’s view coming out of the shade and the sunny background. Not a good mix. In fairness, I have seen other people’s video that is very clear. I think my issue has more to do with the way my home is built. The front door faces north, and maybe if it faced a different direction, I would have a better picture. If there is a remedy for this problem, I’d be glad to hear it. The only other complaint is the fact that when trying to delete previous videos, you have to delete each incident one at a time. It would be nice if there was an option to “delete all” incidents at once.

I have 4 Ring products. I have the slim doorbell wired in in place of my regular doorbell. I have this wireless doorbell on my "friends and family" entrance by my driveway and two wireless cameras for the backyard/door and for the driveway. The problem for this doorbell (because of the way my door is set back, not flush with the front of the house) is that it doesn't get a wide view which is why we added a camera to cover the driveway. It took a while playing with the setting to get it where we don't have a lot of false alarms, while still detecting motion before it gets to the door. Cars / people walking dogs will set it off if set out too far, but I won't get notified that my son is at the door until after he is already in the house, if not set out that far. The other issue I have with the Ring system is that if you don't answer when the motion is detected and you want to see what set it off, if you don't have the cloud storage for the additional fee (there are several options, I chose $100 / yr for unlimited cameras), you can't see what set it off. The part of the app where you can talk to someone at the door works well for my husband's IPhone and from my desktop PC. It does not work well with my older Galaxy in a lifeproof case (can barely be heard). I do like the simplicity of the system. The set up was easy. The app is fairly easy to use. I would recommend this, just be aware of its limitations.

The Ring doorbell has worked well for us since installing it a few weeks ago. Installation was simple and it connected to our wireless network with out any troubles. The video is great and we have not had any troubles with the motion detection like others have mentioned. There is a few second delay before the phone 'rings', but it is not significant enough to be a concern. Would buy another if I could get it at the same $114 sale price.

We purchassed this unit to replace an old clunky doorbell, and it was recommended by our daughter. The mounting instructions were good on the YouTube videos. It's nice to get notifications of motion at the front door, be able to view the front door area on my iPhone, and also to be able to see if there is a delivery there, or who is ringing my doorbell.
