    Works Well For The Price

Now that I have it installed and setup, works well. Install wasn't as easy as advertised. First, despite hooking up to the existing wiring, the unit would only run off the battery, meaning I would have to take it off to charge it. I know it was connected properly because it would ring the doorbell when you pushed it, but no power going to unit. It also took several attempts to get it to connect to wifi.

We love it so far. We hard wired it in, so we're able to view the "live view" at any time. The alerts are great, but the 720p HD video is lacking. Doesn't seem very HD to us. Also, it seems to not always catch motion (we've tried changing the settings, to no avail.) Anyways, for the sale price of $99, can't grip too much. We'll probably upgrade at some point, but for now..."that'll do pig, that'll do."

Cool product, works pretty good but not exactly like the website shows. The picture quality is great but is sometimes delayed and pix-elated. The audio is broken up at times when trying to speak with the person at the door. You have to pay a monthly fee if you want your videos to save, which is important if you are using it for security purposes.

Absolutely love this! I manage an apartment complex and this is perfect if someone comes by to drop something off while I’m not home. It notifies me that they came by. It lets me talk to them even if I’m not home. It allows me to know whose around my home and makes me feel a little safer. I can also screen to see solicitors at the door and whether I want to answer it. Lol Definitely recommend this product! Can’t wait to try the Ring Pro next.

Not Perfect, But Works Most of Time

After reading mixed reviews about this Ring Doorbell, I decided it was still the best option for us. We really did not want security cameras plastered all over and were more concerned about people ringing our doorbell and coming up to the door. Set up was very easy (Wi FI is close by). Pros: Can see most of driveway, sidewalk and front yard from camera. Motion detection works most of the time (have to explore the settings). Now you can do a live video feed without someone ringing bell or detecting motion. Cons: Trying it out several times, ringing the bell did not trip my phone alert a couple of those times. Video can be grainy at times. Due to the fact that the motion detection is tripped by heat, i had to considerably shorten the range on it so cars driving by did not set it off. Unfortunately, the garbage truck does still set it off (we live on a quiet cul de sac, so not a big deal). Like i said, not perfect, but works good enough for what we want it for.

The Ring video door bell is a really good product, but unfortunately it wasn't for me. It worked perfectly as a doorbell, but living in a rural area, our upstream bandwidth was not enough to send video to my phone when the door bell is rung. The support documents show you need a minimum of 2 Megabits/sec upload speed. Was able to return for full refund even though it had been completely installed.

I love being able to see who is coming and going from my house all day while I am at work. When we first purchased this it didn't work at all with our existing doorbell. After corresponding with customer service about the problem they sent us a new unit that they had configured to work with our bell. It arrived quickly and it was easy to install. I'm thrilled with this product!

I love it. The day and night time camera is very detailed. I bought another for my rear door as well as purchasing the stick camera for my garage walk out door. Instead of paying $39 a month for monitoring service. I am my own security company I highly recommend this

I did have a bit of trouble mounting this to the outside wall. I stripped the screws so I couldn't even use them. It just sits on the mount, but could easily fall off. The ring is very sensitive and goes off A lot during the day. This can be bothersome. I do like the fact that I can see who is at my door before I open it.

Works as advertised and they just added desktop interaction in addition to the apps. The only negative would be a delay with the motion sensor turning the camera on. You end up catching people's backsides most of the time. They need to stand in the same spot for it to catch correctly.

Have had the ring doorbell installed for 2 weeks. Overall pleased, attached directly to front door on battery because existing doorbell is too far away from the door with an obstructed view. Easy setup all the way through. Only issue is that motion detection is sometimes delayed so you only see people as they are leaving. Purchased on black Friday for $99, good value at that price.

Ring doorbell is very easy to setup and install. Sync easy to my smart phone.Video is more of a fish eye that what the commercials show. i have very good high speed internet downloads /up speed's at it's location, but the unit does have some LAG still working on that issue. i do like the fact i can see who is at my front door at ANYTIME ! I woild give it 4 out of 5 star's due to the lag.

I am pleasantly surprised at how good a picture this doorbell/camera can capture. I can recognize whoever is at my door without opening the door. I know who is at the door when I'm not there. I was gone and a package was dropped off. I called my neighbor who took it to her house until I was able to get back in town. If someone says they left a package on the porch, I can check memory to see if it’s true. So far, I’m loving it.

    Performs Exactly As Expected

Having read the reviews and product description, the original Ring doorbell performs as expected. The wiring for my doorbell no longer functions, so the Ring Pro was not an option. It installs fairly easy, works fine. The whole process of getting a motion alert, then activating the camera view, or getting a doorbell rung, getting the notice on your phone, then checking the camera, it's not quite smooth, but it's quick enough to do the job. Only reason for 5 stars is have to unscrew it to recharge battery (problem was solved in newer models, I knew that going in), having to pay for online video storage, and a few other things I should have known with more careful research, like no additional colors for face plates and not being able to sync doorbell to traditional wireless doorbell chimes (have to by Ring's chime, or else you only get phone notifications when doorbell rings).

I bought this doorbell for added home security when I'm at home and away. I like being able to see who is at the door before I get to the door. I love the fact that I can see when my son leaves for school and when deliveries are made to the house. Due to the position of my door and the the street, I get a lot of motion detection from cars passing by. I contacted customer service attempting to resolve the issue. They were very helpful and advised me to angle the doorbell downward slightly to reduce the motion detection from the street. I have not done this yet but I still love having this doorbell even with the extra notifications. Another great feature is that it can be linked to the echo dot so you can set up to be notified through the echo when the doorbell rings.

I purchased 2 of these, one for the front door and one for the back. The one on the back works better and is less delayed than the one on the front; called Ring and they told me it is a router problem. But the one on the front still serves its purpose - and visitors are surprised to see/hear me when I ask if I can help them. The battery charge says it lasts a year and it does not; we have to charge the batteries about once every 3 months, but we also go in and out of the back door frequently. I love these products! Would buy them again in a heartbeat. I think they will deter strangers and I also pay $30 a year for each doorbell for Cloud access. The one day I might need the video could prove to make these worth every penny!
