This is an interesting product with significant value for security minded consumers. The physical installation is easy, but the app set-up can be confusing and the person I gave this device to had to call Ring customer service for help. Fortunately, the technician she reached was cheerful and helpful and the set-up was completed without further difficulty. The image the Ring provides to a cellphone or tablet is clear and will certainly allow my friend to identify who's at the door. Two way communication is slow but easy to hear. In fact that's my only quibble; the response time between a doorbell button push and the eventual alert at the phone is quite slow, often 10 to 15 seconds. And once contact is astablished, communicating with the caller is somewhat slow and protracted. However, she's happy with it and feels more secure in her condo having it.

A must have for security purposes. Easy installation. Quality is great.

I already have the Ring Doorbell at my front door, and also the flood light at my garage, but needed another camera for the back of the house. I was going to purchase another Ring floodlight or a solar powered Ring camera, but found this on sale. I mounted it on the porch wall (took less than 5 minutes). My Daughter likes the fact that we can chat and she can ring the doorbell for us from the back yard.

I have purchased 3 of these to date. I originally purchased my first Ring to reassure me that my 16 year old made it off the bus without a problem. It has been helpful with keeping track of people or animals coming into my yard. It is directly wired to the house. I purchased the second and third to use by the internal battery for my mother's house and on the back of my house. The battery life has not lasted as long as advertised for my mother's Ring. I am not sure why, but it has to be recharged every 6 weeks or so. This is a little disappointing because my mother calls me frustrated when it does not work and I have to spend 30 minutes on the phone helping her problem solve the issues. I have not installed the third Ring yet. I would recommend the Ring, but only if you can hardwire it directly.

This is a great product and the support team is superb! Works great, and any setup problems, if any, they will guide you through. But should set up easily in a few minutes. Very helpful when away from the house and a parcel is being delivered. You can tell them to leave it in the backyard, or with neighbor, so it doesn't get stolen off your door matt! Very clear picture and sound. I love it! I even bought a second one as a backup.

I bought this because the house we bought does not have a peep hole in the door. It is a cool gadget that is really useful. I like that I can use the app to view any activity that is going on. I'm watching the kids playing in the front yard now and hear everything they are saying. The only issue is the 720p camera can be fuzzy but it is expected. Worth the buy and added security plus easy to install.

After reading several reviews I decided to purchase a Ring Video Doorbell to enhance my families home security system. I found the item very easy to install, easy to use. I appreciate that I can adjust the distance / perimeter that the camera captures preventing false indications of activity near my door. I would definitely recommend this product and will be purchasing another for my rental property.

The product itself works great. I like the option of being either battery operated or wired. Unfortunately it was too wide for the area that my existing doorbell was located. It stuck out past the edge of the door frame to the point where the screws would not screw in. I ended up exchanging it for the Ring Pro, which is much slimmer and fit my door perfectly.

First of all I purchased this item while it was on sale so I got it at a good price. The installation was pretty simple, initially had a few hitches with the set up process but that was resolved quickly. After downloading the App on the phones, the best feature to me was the other day, my son who was at work, was able to watch me go to the mailbox to clear my mail and see that I returned inside without incident. In fact I was a bit surprised upon returning to the front door I heard him calling out to me to let me know he was watching. lol. Now that to me is what peace of mind is all about. Another excellent feature and perhaps the reason I purchased it was for unwanted visitors. Too often I have been caught looking out the window to see who was at the door, now I can avoid all of that as the angle at which the doorbell is placed, allows me to be notified before they reach the front door by the motion sensor which is built in. Another reason for this purchase was after having missing packages I am now able to see when these are being delivered to the front door and even speak with the person delivering the package to ask them to put it in a certain secure spot for me. But to me the best feature of all is that I am able to be part of a community, wherein I am able to receive and send to other Ring owners in my sub-division alerts of possible break-ins or un-usual activity in the area which makes us all our brother's keeper.

I can’t justify buying any video doorbells. However, when this doorbell was available for just $99, it was a no-brainer. Best decision made this Black Friday. The device works as advertised... maybe too much. Lol. Even if I set the sensitivity to low I still get frequent notifications. Also, you may want to use longer screws than what the device came with. Other than that, this is a Best Buy.

It is located by my apartment in a senior apartment building and from my phone or computer I can see a range of aprox. 34 feet to the left and right of my entrance and record who walked by and at what time. It did take several hours to charge though and I didn't find it quite as simple to set up as the box would have you believe, but then I am no techy.

Easy to install. Works great. As an example, we had an unknown person come to our door while on vacation in Montana. I was able to answer the door from my iPhone. They said they were looking for a house in the neighborhood, but seemed suspicious. They quickly left, and my wife noted that this was a great system. Definitely worth it!!!

Video quality is great. Easy install. Nice to be able to see who is at the door.

The installation was simple. The integration was simple. My only disappointment is that the motion range is not really customizable. Everytime a car goes by my house, I get a notification that there is motion at my front door. I've fiddled with the settings over and over, to no avail.

Love it inside out! The color worked perfectly with our door. The picture quality, the usefulness, the peace of mind and security are priceless. We told everyone about it and they were very impressed! We are so going to get Rings as Christmas gifts to everyone we know this year!!

Gave this to my in laws as a gift. Though not incapable, they are not the most tech-savvy folks either. They managed to set it up and are now using it. This gizmo allows them to “answer” the door when home or away giving them that extra peace of mind of feeling secure. Also saves them from getting up to see who’s at the door every time it rings - a true gift for those getting older.
