Wish i gotten it sooner
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Im bwyond obsessed with having this ring camera! We have worked so hard for everything we own so we use this ring camera as added protection around our yard along with our regular security camera system. The ring doorbell is sleek in design which i love. Installation was pretty easy and didnt take long before we got it all set up. The camera quality is top tier and Im abled to see wverything in my front yard, who pulls up in my front yard, and even whose passing up and down our road. I also love that i can catch candid videos of the kids when they are playing out front. The sound quality is amazing and you can hear very clearly. I love that i can check this constantly when we are away from our home. I was never a doorbell type of person until i got this ring doorbell. To be honest I use it more for the camera than I do as a doorbell. My favorite part is being able to see when my packages arrive on my front porch! Overall this is an amazing quality doorbell with camera that i honestly wish i had gotten sooner!

Great Security Device
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Ring - Wired Doorbell Plus (2nd Gen) is a really nice security device with many features and clear capture. The setup was fairly easy, especially if you have an existing wired doorbell. The step-by-step instructions are spot on and easy to follow. The video quality is superb, and the app is easy to use. I really like the fact you can choose / personalize what you want it to record and send notifications. We have used other cameras in the past that record every movement of bushes blowing in the wind, or birds flying around. I was able to set this camera up to only record people. This allows me to have our dogs in the front porch area, and I won’t get notified every time they walk near the camera. But if someone was to enter the area, or if I get a package delivered, I’ll know immediately and will have crisp clear video footage of it. So far so good. I’m extremely impressed and happy with this new ring device. Ring keeps improving and setting the standard for home security and I look forward to adding more devices soon.

Wired Doorbell with great picture!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Ring Wired Doorbell Plus (2nd Gen) with Retinal 2K picture is a great new doorbell. This is my first video doorbell, so I did not have any previous models to compare to. I am truly impressed by the quality and all the features that come with the doorbell and Ring App, and I now wonder why I waited so long to get one! I got the wired doorbell, so I could use it to replace the old standard doorbell at my house and not have to worry about batteries. I think the wired version is much more convenient, after its been installed. Following are some features and my observations of this model: - Retinal 2K video - the picture is great! Much better than videos I've seen that people often post online from their doorbells. I get good color and a full view of my entryway and front yard. I normally keep my front lights on all night, so haven't had any problems seeing at night either. I tried it with the lights off and I still could see well. - I love the fact I can finally talk to and hear someone who is at the front door. I can finally talk to delivery people if I'm not home. - It is a DIY installation using the existing doorbell wiring. Now, I will say, it was a little more involved than I was expecting, but I am totally not a handy, do-it-yourself guy, so if I can do it, I think anyone can. You download the Ring App and scan a QR code and it really does walk you through every step you need to take, so if you can follow directions, you can get it done. I've just never dealt with wiring before, so I'm sure it took me longer than most. I'd say altogether it took me around an hour to install the doorbell and chime, and another half hour or so to play around with and figure out the App settings, so I spent about 1.5 hours getting everything working the way I wanted. If you were already set up with a Ring App or you are upgrading from an older model, I'm sure it would be much faster. - You get everything you need in the box to set it up, including a universal mounting plate, installation hardware, user manual, push pin, and plastic corner kit. The corner kit came in handy for me, as my doorbell is on the side of my door, so this gives a better video angle of my entryway. The Ring doorbell fit just fine over my old doorbell opening and was easy to attach to the door frame. - There is a small Chime unit that comes with the doorbell. This unit gets hard-wired to your old inside doorbell chime. I was a little surprised by this, as I thought once I hard-wired the doorbell, it would use my old chime. However, your old chimes no longer operate with the Ring Doorbell and you wire this new chime unit to the old one. Once wired up, it works just fine. - I was able to set it all up and connect it to the Ring App on my phone, but it also gives you an easy option to invite your spouse or others in the home to share the same doorbell on their phone apps also. - One of the great features in the App is you can set up the zone in which you want to get alerts of motion in the zone. On the live view, I can see my front yard and sidewalk and street. However, I don't want alerts of people walking on the sidewalks or cars driving by. You can customize the alert zone by dragging it in the picture so that it is inside the front yard and does not give you a motion alert for anyone on the street or sidewalk. So you can truly see just when someone is approaching or on your front yard. You can also choose to be alerted only by people, or if you want alerts for other motion in your yard. - There are countless other settings and features you can choose from that are built within the App, allowing you to customize alerts and sounds and types of motion and providing Smart responses, plus lots of other general settings. You can really set it up for what works best for you. Seems like they have thought of about everything. I'm excited to finally have a Ring Doorbell. If you have an old hard-wired doorbell on your home, this Ring Wired Doorbell Plus (2nd Gen) model is a great choice to replace it and provide you with clear video doorbell features.

Ring Wired Doorbell Plus (2nd Gen) Camera
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So I just snagged this new Ring Wired Doorbell Plus camera a few days ago and has since installed in at the front door to my condo. We recently installed another Ring camera on the front door, so this is merely an upgrade. After having tried some of the other top leading brand names for video doorbell cameras and the like, we decided months ago to go with Ring, and I'm so happy we did. After using the other Ring camera for several months and absolutely loving it, we were stoked to be able to get the chance to test out this new Ring Wired Doorbell Plus camera. Unboxing Includes: * Wired Doorbell Plus (2nd Gen) * Chime Kit Mini * Corner Mount * Installation Toolkit * Window Decal Sticker * User Documentation To get started, you will need to download the Ring app from the App Store for iOS or Google Play Store for Android devices. Next you will need to create an account and follow along with the instructions. But the most important thing you will need to do is make sure your find the line that your front doorbell runs off of at the main breaker box and shut that line down. Unfortunately for me when I first installed other video doorbell cameras, I had to run up and down the stairs to figure out which line my front doorbell was on. Now I know its on my basement line, so after I disconnected that main power line, I started with my installation process. One thing I love about Ring is the installation process is so simple. If you just follow along with the app, you will have your doorbell camera setup in no time. Once I got everything installed and turned the power back on, I waited for the camera to properly boot up and got it connected to the home network. Now once it was added to my account I wanted to remove the old Ring camera from my account. This is where I think Ring needs to revamp their connection and disconnection. If and when you sign up for one of their accounts (which you need in order to save history), they need to make it easier for customers who are simply upgrading their cameras to remove a camera and add a new one. Simply adding a new camera to your account makes it to where you will be paying another $4.99 or more for each additional camera to your account. Instead it should be if you want to continue with he same subscription you have, you should be able to simply remove the old camera from your account and add the new camera to your account without having to discontinued the old subscription and start a new one. This is the one area i believe they need to fix and focus on and make it more user friendly for those of us that are simply just upgrading from older cameras to the newer ones. Aside from that, this doorbell camera has some amazing features, such as 3D Motion Detection, Retinal Vision 2K, Low Light Sight and more. 2 way audio works amazing, you can clearly hear those on the other side of your door no matter whether you're home or away from your home. That lets would-be intruders know that you are watching them. As far as video is concerned, I love the quality of the 2k as well as the field of view. Our older Ring camera video was crisp and clear and this new doorbell camera just took that to a whole 'nother level. All in all we're happy with our new Ring Wired Doorbell Plus (2nd Gen) camera and think you will enjoy it as well. Just another level peace of mind knowing your home is guarded no matter if you're home or not.

Nice upgrade
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Ok, so after spending some time with the Ring Wired Doorbell Plus (2nd Gen), I can confidently say this is a strong upgrade from previous generations. The Retinal 2K video quality is legitimately impressive — crisp, clean, and detailed enough that you don’t get that graininess you normally expect when you zoom in. Low-light sight has also been noticeably better than earlier models; faces stay clear instead of turning into silhouettes, which is exactly what you want for a doorbell that’s supposed to keep an eye on things 24/7. The 3D Motion Detection is a winner for me too. You can feel the difference, alerts come in faster, and the zones feel more accurate, picking up people while ignoring random movement that used to trigger my old camera (and by the way drove me a little crazy). And honestly, one thing I’ve always appreciated about Ring is the neighborhood community feature. Being able to see what’s going on around my area — from safety alerts to simple heads-ups — actually adds value in a way a lot of smart home products don’t. All around, this feels polished, reliable, and clearly built with some thoughtful improvements under the hood. If you're already in the Ring ecosystem or just want a dependable wired doorbell with great video, this one’s absolutely worth picking up.

A new look for Ring
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve been a Ring subscriber since the first units arrived on the scene, before the company was purchased. The design language since that time has always been fairly consistent. This feels to me like the first total overhaul to bring it up to what the competitors are doing with more of a rounded edge feel. Ring cameras always felt like they had some squared-off edges but this one is curvy all the way. It’s obvious in the way it doesn’t sit flat on its left and right edges. But another big departure from its old design language is the ratio: it’s much skinnier than before. This change will be invaluable for people who have slimmer mounting surfaces and historically had to go with another brand. Everything else operates as my older Ring Pro cam it replaced. The resolution is upgraded and it functions like you’d expect it to. I also appreciate that Ring now includes extension wires with C terminal hooks to make wiring the unit easier. A worthy successor to the older Pro and it comes in at a lower price. Can’t ask for more. Good job, Ring!

2K Great Video Quality
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.LOVE the Ring Doorbell. We had one on our prior home, and when we moved we left it on our house. So we needed a new one for our new home. I am a huge fan of Ring Doorbell. They are super easy to install and they work great on the mobile app. I have tried other brands and I always come back to Ring. After installation I immediately could see the difference in this version (2K) over the original. This was a great investment and I am glad I made the purchase for the newer version. The image is already so much more crisp and clear even in low light situations. ANother enhancement with this version is it now accepts 5GHz WiFi. The original struggled to pick up my home wifi (dual band) and now this new version picks it up easy and holds the connection without issue. If you are in the market for a video doorbell look no further, this is the brand you want to go with. I enjoy being able watch live views as well as answer the doorbell and have two way communications with the person at my door even if I am not home. You get all the items you need in the box to install this to your existing doorbell wiring. There are great instructions provided so even if this is your first venture into this market, you will be up and running in no time.

Good value
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So I have never used a Ring before. Figured now was a good time as any. Getting into the world of Ring was a bit more than I anticipated. I did not know there were so many models out there. This Ring Wired Doorbell Plus seemed like a good middle ground. I felt wired is usually the way to go with security cameras as you can get better performance. I gotta say I was a bit surprised by how large these things are now. I had seen the first generations before. I guess with better cameras and sensors, they had to make them bigger. Given that it is wired, you do need to plug it into the existing wire system. Now, one thing that I didn't realize with the Ring is that while it is compatible with the vast majority of existing wired doorbells, it will not work with your existing mechanical chime. Instead, you have to connect the Chime Kit Mini which only has one chime. It is incredibly annoying to me. You should look up the sound before buying to see if is something that you can tolerate. I guess I had some misconceptions about the Ring. The video quality itself is good. I actually can compare it to a 4K Ring that I also got. While the video quality difference is noticeable, it did not actually make any big differences in real world use. Now another thing that I did not know with Ring cameras is that you need a subscription to unlock alot of the features, namely saving recordings. This is an unfortunate trend with today's technology. All in all, this is easy to set up. The video quality is decent. Nowhere near as crisp as the commercials will make it seem but good value.

easy to install
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.the ring doorbell is an excellent product but I did need to exchange the wired one for the battery operated one. The wired one does not work with the entry bell button on a nutone intercom system. A quick exchange and the installation of the battery Ring doorbell was fast and easy. The software options setup was amazingly easy. The quality of video is amazing and after being in use for a week now there have been no issues.

Incom installation- doorbell not detecting motion
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Apparently after calling rind twice, the reset button needs to be pushed. Posted .Hi KarenK.
Thank you for sharing your experience with us. We understand how critical it is for your Ring Wired Doorbell Plus to detect motion accurately so that you can be alerted within the Ring app to any motion activity around your home. Rest assured, we are here today to provide you with some information in order to ensure you get the most out of your motion detection! We are confident we can find a solution that works well for you and your home’s environment.
It sounds like the device is not performing as expected. If your Ring Wired Doorbell Plus is not detecting motion, there are several common causes to check. First, verify that Motion Detection is turned on in your Ring app and that Motion Alerts are enabled. Check if Modes or Motion Schedules are active, as these can disable motion detection during certain times. Make sure any Privacy Zones you've set up are not blocking the areas where you want to detect motion.
Signal strength is important for proper motion detection. Poor wifi can prevent your doorbell from detecting motion accurately. Check the Device Health section of your Ring application to ensure the device’s RSSI is within an acceptable range. The recommended range for optimal performance is 0 to -60 for the RSSI.
The position and settings of your doorbell also matter. Your doorbell may need repositioning to improve motion detection accuracy. Adjust your Motion Sensitivity settings if they're set too low, as this can cause the device to miss motion events. Make sure any protective film has been removed from the device, as leaving it on can interfere with motion detection.

Very disappointed.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this to replace a previously installed Ring doorbell pro that was not compatible with my 5g xfinity router. This new one would not work with it either even though it says its compatible. The instructions were lousy - it had one step in reverse order and completely skipped another step - and the app did not even address the issue with the doorbell not linking to my phone.

It sounds like the device is not performing as expected. If you run into trouble connecting to the 5 GHz network, connect to a 2.4 GHz network first, then switch to the 5 GHz network after setup is complete. You can do so via the Device Health section of the Ring app. Additionally, please try the following steps.
Make sure you're entering the correct password. Passwords are case-sensitive and do not include spaces. Your network password can often be found on the bottom or side of your router.
Make sure your password doesn't have any special characters. If your password contains characters like an asterisk (*), pound sign (#), or exclamation mark (!), remove them by changing the password in your router's settings.
