It lets me know if someone is at my front door and if it is someone I want to greet. If I am away from the house I can see who is at the door and I can communicate with the person if I choose to. With the Ring I am able to capture any positive or negative activity taking place in front of my house. I am very happy with this addition.

That leaves you with no recording capability and not being able to isolate trigger events to just human movement. It triggers on everything that moves within 60 feet. That's a deal-breaker for me. I returned it.

The following Motion Settings are available to everyone, regardless of having a Ring Protect subscription.
- Customizable Motion Zones.
- Motion Frequency.
- Motion Sensitivity.
- Motion Schedules.
By adjusting your motion zones to more immediate areas of your yard, you should be able to reduce irrelevant motion events. Additionally, you can set your Motion Frequency settings to Standard or Periodically, which helps reduce excessive motion events. Below are two articles that go into more detail.
