It sounds like your device is not receiving adequate power to function consistently and reliably. The Ring Wired Doorbell Plus requires a power supply of 16–24 VAC, 40 VA max, 50/60 Hz. To resolve your power issues and ensure your Ring Wired Doorbell Plus works as intended, there are a few things you can try.

The most common fix for power issues is to bypass your doorbell with a Pro Power Kit V2.

If the bypass method doesn't solve your power problems or you don't want to bypass your doorbell mechanism, consider upgrading your transformer. When purchasing and installing a new transformer, we recommend choosing one with at least 16 volts AC, at least 30 volt-amps (40 VA max), and 50/60 Hz. Do not use a halogen or garden-lighting transformer or a DC transformer/power supply.

If you don't have an internal doorbell mechanism or your existing system is unusable, resolve your power problem by installing a Ring Plug-in Adapter (sold separately).

This device is intended to provide you notifications and video footage of who is approaching your front door.

Customizable Motion Zones are featured in all of Ring's AC-powered products, such as your Ring Pro Doorbell, which allow for a fuller feature set and greater degree of customization. This system’s customization options let you draw up to three areas in the camera’s view to detect motion in. These Motion Zones allow you to define a specific area that you want your Ring to cover, while ignoring everything outside that area. It's possible there are some loose or fraying wires, or even an issue with the transformer itself. It sounds like you have some concerns with the features of your device. The Ring Wired Doorbell Plus is a hardwired device. It requires a transformer rated between 16-24VAC, 50/60HZ. Out of the box, the Ring Wired Doorbell Plus comes with the following:

It sounds like the Ring Wired Doorbell Plus is not performing as expected. The Ring Wired Doorbell Plus requires a doorbell transformer rated at 16-24 VAC 50/60HZ, 10-40VA max. Some symptoms of insufficient power include not correctly ringing your existing internal doorbell, regularly losing connection to your wifi network, freezing up or shutting down during the ringtone sound after a button press, regularly shutting off (the white light on the front will turn off), freezing up during a live event, night vision doesn't work, or the doorbell working fine for a couple of events and then stopping working.. If you're receiving a 'Setup did not complete' message and cannot finish setup, it could be due to one of these common causes of setup failures:

* Your Ring device is too far from your wifi router. Ideally, your router should be within 20 feet of your Ring device.
* There's a possible problem with your internet connection.
* There's a possible issue related to your wifi modem or router.

Make sure your wifi router is off the floor.
Walls, floors, and furniture can interfere or weaken your router’s wireless signal. Choose an elevated, central, open location.
Make sure you're entering the correct password. Passwords are case sensitive and do not include spaces. Your network password can often be found on the bottom or side of your router.

Wifi passwords are case and special character (such as *,@,$, or #) sensitive. Double check letter capitalization and placement.
If you haven't changed your wifi password since your router was installed, it may be on a sticker on the underside of your router.
Connect other devices to your wifi network using your last remembered password to verify it is still correct.
If you have multiple networks or a wifi extender, confirm you are connecting to the correct one.
Make sure to connect to the 2G (2.4 GHz) network, not 5G (5 GHz). All Ring devices can connect to 2.4 GHz, while only select Ring devices have Dual-Band Wifi to be able to connect to either.
If you’re still having issues, try holding down the reset button on top of the camera for 20 seconds. Before you reset your device, make sure to download any videos in your account.

We understand the importance of a seamless installation process, as this allows you to start using your Ring Pro right away. What you describe is not the experience we want you to have, rest assured we hear you and are here to offer you some help.

You are able to use a Ring Corner Kit (sold seperately) to angle your Ring Pro towards your walkway, so you can improve your motion detection and get a better view of visitors coming to your door. This package comes with 3 stackable mounts that would adjust your viewing angle from 15°, 30° or 45°. They are also paintable to match your home!

If you are not comfortable installing this mounting kit on your own, we would suggest you reach out to Best Buy's customer service: 1-888-237-8289 or https://www.bestbuy.com/services/triage/home. We are confident that they will be able to provide you resolution to this installation and mounting field of view concern.
