That leaves you with no recording capability and not being able to isolate trigger events to just human movement. It triggers on everything that moves within 60 feet. That's a deal-breaker for me. I returned it.

Our team is here to help you get the most out of your device.
The following Motion Settings are available to everyone, regardless of having a Ring Protect subscription.
- Customizable Motion Zones.
- Motion Frequency.
- Motion Sensitivity.
- Motion Schedules.
By adjusting your motion zones to more immediate areas of your yard, you should be able to reduce irrelevant motion events. Additionally, you can set your Motion Frequency settings to Standard or Periodically, which helps reduce excessive motion events. Below are two articles that go into more detail.

Awesome product, but theres a catch

Quality of video is pretty good and the fact it can detct people vs other things is awesome. It also can detect deliveries. There a a couple draw backs, it has to be close to wifi. I had to relocate router to get a good signal to it through the wall/closed door. The major draw back is……theres a subscription after a 30 day free trial. Then it charges you per ring. Me having 3 , I don’t know what im gonna do.

We do provide information to our customers about the optional Ring Protect Plan here, on Amazon's site under the device specifications, and on our Ring website.
